Aw hey don't beat yourself up over forgetting about this challenge! There's nothing wrong with having been busy lately, you know? I look forwards to whatever you end up creating for this though! C: I think you can still technically do the previous days if you really want to. It's mostly about the practice / fun if you ask me!

It’s Luigi’s Mansion, modeled after the stage from the Super Smash Bros. series but ultimately meant to be more of a fanart to the original game by the same name. I’m not much of a Mario series fan, but if I had to pick between the two main protagonists, my vote is with Luigi, by far. c: He’s such a cute little dork ahaha.

Don't stress yourself out over this! This should be something fun and chill for you, not something causing you any kind of anguish! To be honest the first few times I tried a challenge like this, I never made it passed the first week. (Like the first 6-7 times actually lol) Last year, DeDrMo was the first time I've completed one and I even missed a few days / had to go back and do them on other days! But I've learned to just relax. It shouldn't be stressing you out. You've got us to support you, even if that means only doing a few prompts! C: Something is better than nothing!!
OoOh how I missed your pixel stuff AHHH! How you fit so much detail into something so small without being able to resize and stuff is ENTIRELY beyond me. The animation came out so good, and so did the colors + the illuminated colors! UGHHH I love this so much. Dat little Boo is sooo cute. I love how the lights still flicker while he's present. Such a nice detail. C: C:

This character is a werewolf, and I guess since her baby is also 'cursed' then this qualifies her as a 'haunted' 'house'?? xDDD IDK I feel like I went a bit too far out of the theme today but I had fun so C: I don't care I guess.

Dang Mels! You did a super fantastic job on this image. Samantha's color palette is really very splendid and kind of calming - those lovely bluish hues of the eyes and the dress go incredibly well with her hair/skin color; I'm kind of wondering what her(? correct me if pronouns are incorrect) nature / personality is, since you mentioned that Sam is a werewolf. As per usual you've done marvelous work on the shading itself - especially the hair. I really don't know how you have the patience for such lovely lineart either (because dang those hair strands are so elegant), especially since you draw A TON. Her(?) little freckles are adorable, and I love how you depicted her pregnancy. It really looks so accurate anatomically. I bet her progeny is going to be adorable! Just splendid~

So this was a little experimental in the style; it’s more obvious in the full version and less so in this resize but I was playing around a lot with the brush dynamics. While it was interesting, I probably won’t be working with this style at all in the future, or not very much. It’s not because I didn’t have fun - I did (working this way felt like a weird cross between chalk and watercolor almost) - I’m more of a fan of cleaner lineart and shading for the most part. But it was good for experimenting. :D (LOOK I EVEN MADE MY WATERMARK ALL FUNNY TOO HAHAHAHA.)

Samantha is very kind / caring / loving. She's also very accepting / supportive. Although being pregnant she can get a bit cranky / wary of others because of her concern for the baby!
Also T____T This prompppttttt. I already commented on Tumblr about it but seriously. I just. I am really glad you picked this idea instead because this is just lovely. It gives me all the good feels and that makes me A+ happy town B)

He was a Graveyard Charlie named Platysma. Platy is a librarian who basically was killed rather unfortunately but manages to still work at the library in the after hours / as long as no one really sees him. (Look! I actually followed this prompt pretty closely lol for once.)

I decided to do Zero Two (also known as 0² or 02), the main, true antagonist of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards that you will only see if you collect every single crystal shard in the game.
I have a lot more to say about this piece, but it's personal and you're going to have to look at my Tumblr/deviantART commentary if you want to read it.

I was expecting you would draw your character but I'm more glad you drew something that you had such strong feelings for. I've never played that particular game myself, but the character is quite amazing looking. The sad little bandaid on the top is breaking my heart :C

- Her heterochromia
- The patterning on her forehead when she glows also looks like an eyeball
- Being a dragon minion and Mordremoth constantly throwing around vine eyeballs it just FELT NECESSARY.
2nd. A cute little devil. Saw a saccharine sleeping cherub and had to make a devil/demon out of it. Warning..., old art alert. Might do something new later.
6 days late now I give up. I'm leaving for in two hours and won't be home until evening so that's another day I won't be able to draw. Why do I always fail at every challenge ever :'D But you guys keep making epic art I can drool at okay? ;v;

REPLY: I'm not surprised you haven't played Kirby 64, given it is a pretty old game aha (it's from 2000 - I would've been 8 or something back then if I did my math right? wow). I agree though, I think Zero Two's storyline is actually kind of tragic. To be honest, I feel like it attacked the Crystal because that has the power to kill it, since Zero Two is the reborn form of Zero / has literally been killed before. When you fight it, you're using the Crystal Shards on it; you basically destroy the wings / halo / tail / attack it in the eye and I literally just feel so sorry for the thing.
ZOMBIE: GOSH Platysma turned out really fricking wonderful and holy fudge - you legit weren't kidding about having a ton of art of him. MY TOYHOUSE FEED. SUCH PLATYSMA MANY PLATYSMA. I'm kind of curious how he died though since the profile mentions it being an accident! Did a book shelf fall on him or something?! Poor thing. I'm so sad he's not happy about being undead / tries to hide from other people. Poor precious character let me bE YOUR FRAND. I do really like his design a lot; red and green look wonderful together in my opinion, and he literally has such cute wounds / markings. I SUPER love the expression; his eyeball is awfully pretty, and I love all the little components of his face, from the darker part under his lips, to that elongated mouth with the little teeth, and the scarring right above that. Gosh the way you did that eyepatch piece and the glasses too are just fantastic, and does he have little frazzled whiskers coming off that one side of his face? Frick he is literally so cute. That little boily-bubbly thing on his ear. Also... looking through all his TH art, I can see why he hides that one eye of his. Poor thing. He is literally the cutest Mels oh my gosh. I ALSO really like the way you did the hair, how it's kind of laying on the shoulders a bit instead of completely dangling down. You did a marvelous job on the hands too! Those claws on the bandaged one are really neat looking. Overall this looks really fantastic. What's he reading about? :D
EYEBALL: YES GOOD A SYLVARI. Man that does really fit since there have been so many eye-related cutscenes for Mordremoth already. I like how her heterochromia iridum looks; it's kind of subtle, but once you notice it, it's really pretty / adds to it. I love that you also made two versions of this image - seeing it with and without the "eye-mond" glow in the middle is really cool and also makes that stand out a lot. Gosh Deppa's hair is so cool, I like how it looks both dreadlock-y and branch/root-y at the same time, and all those little leaves. :D Like gosh the way you've spaced them is wonderful and really adds a lot. (It's a super nice color scheme too! Tiffie (I think? right?) did a good job on the color palette for Deppa.) Man all those detail lines for the middle of her forehead, and her little thin-yet-very-pointed ears are super great too. POOR THING it's kind of sad she's ill and whatnot. Gosh I want to hug like the majority of your characters alright?? Does her sylvan hound friend have a name by the way?? C: C:

Hey welcome to the challenge! Good to see more people posting / joining in. C: I like what you've done for Eyeball; the detail on the actual eye is really great and it's a good focal point of the piece. It's also neat how you made the skin of the creature contrast a lot with the fence / whatever it's looking through. It also adds enough mystery / enigmatic to add atmosphere to the piece! Super interesting. C:

I don't think it's really a matter of being able to get every single day in. If you're feeling inspired you could just a small thing for one or two prompts, whenever you feel like jumping in really! Also I understand the feeling of failing challenges. I'm with you there. I've literally NEVER completed a longterm project. Ever.

SO IT’S BEEN LIKE… LITERALLY FOREVER SINCE I DREW ANYTHING TRADITIONAL? Like it might actually have been years since I last did a piece by actual hand on actual paper. (Little idle doodles in my tiny notebook that fits in my purse don’t count alright.) It probably shows too, ah… but I am pretty happy with this piece regardless. You could even say the traditional medium is… alien to me at this point. GET IT? wink wink nudge nudge subsequently bricked by someone for terrible puns
Anyways, this is my character Laise (pronounced like a cross between “laze†and “lace†- it’s not as hard of a Z sound as laze, but not as soft / hissy sounding as a C), who fits the theme due to being one of the many Inquathans that invades the galaxy of Se-Nathiir Kaba during the Kindaworld storyline. Because hot dang, Halloween month is the month to be drawing monsters frick yes. You could technically consider all of the Inquathans “aliens†to the Se-Nathiir Kaba, but Laise here does noticeably look pretty dang foreign if you ask me. C:
Also Laise legit shoots lazers. One of these days I should draw it doing that I’M FIRIN’ MY LAZERS meme or something because memes are my life.

I actually own this particular Kirby game! I just have never played it / it's a bit too hard for me because I don't have great coordination. Nathan has played it but I am unsure if he's ever gotten all the shards. hugs the poor eyebally I save u frand.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that Drawlloween is for pictures you drew this year, this month. The goal of the challenge here is to produce 31 pieces of artwork in October '15. I think it's fricking awesome you own the original Kirby 64. Gosh I really do wish I still had a Nintendo 64; literally all of the classics are from that era. Anything that's older than that, and I tend not to be interested / it's too outdated for me. coughs at the very first Zeldas that did not age horribly well Yeah I kind of feel like... you know, because Zero originally tried to take over the world basically and didn't succeed, it knows they'll come after it again if they learn that it was resurrected/reborn as a fallen angel version of itself. If you ask me, The Crystal Shards was more of a self-defense strike out of fear but, that is of course my own interpretation / theory of what's going on.
UNTIL YOU FIGURE OUT A CANON REASON FOR PLATY'S DEATH I'M LITERALLY JUST GOING TO SIT IN MY CORNER PRETENDING A BOOKSHELF FELL ON HIM. A really, really mean bookshelf. Even if that makes no sense to his wounds. B') Get cracking on making a real reason, you. Heehee.
Oh okay! ONE THING AT A TIME NO RUSH. I goshdang love the sylvan hounds to be honest. I may legitimately keep Hellhound on Tanaka even when he's 80 just because I do really like using them (and Hellhound makes sense to his character too to be honest). And they are really hecka cute like dang. Sylvan hounds are the best.

Your theory kind of makes sense though? I feel like a lot of times the 'hero' is attacking something it... has no reason / right to attack and sometimes it can come off as them defending against ?? an imaginary problem?? xD
I was thinking honestly that Platysma's death will be non library related, but I don't see why he couldn't have been smooshed under a bookshelf when already dead? lol Can you imagine the next day a bunch of people coming in and there is a literal zombie like 'Can someone let me out please' trying not to alarm anyone but he's all gross and decayed anyways xDDD

It’s been a little while since I last drew my character Inheim (pronounced EEN-hime)! Inheim’s name literally means Raven in my fictitious language, Phraalixaconian. He’s a vallen (an original species of mine) that has control over the elements of Darkness and Time. He is also heavily associated with ravens and will sometimes shapeshift into one. Inheim has been a character of mine since - get this - 1998. Yes. You’re reading that right. B)
Inheim is one of the adversaries of the Realm of Dreams series (my main, largest series where a really good portion of my characters come from, such as Orcane or Lyricals/Cento or Sable Dawn and all that good whatnot). Speaking of, Inheim is actually something a parallel / character foil to Sable Dawn and is the antagonist of her storyline, The Snow Angel (second book of the ROD series)! The lyrics are from Covenant’s song “Bullet,†which is awfully fitting for Inheim’s character. C:
