WIP V2 + 2.1

The blush to the skin is pretty much the first thing I do when I start the painting process, so that's why it wasn't there yet. It'll be more clear later on. ~
Style-wise my floofs tend to either drop their mouths or noses + have round 'eyebrows', but if you want a more standard face then that's perfectly possible.
I thought her back was a bit naked, but since you sort of have to look for the back fins in the refs to find them I didn't see or think about it (I even own an aquarium & still didn't catch on - shame! /laughs)
And yeah, we're just laying down the basics here to make sure we get it right from the start. Easier to edit flats than a finished piece, million layers of painting & all. ~ It will be more nice & glowy when it's done. (:
Trying out new things, having new experiences, learning & growing is a necessary constant in human life, no matter what some people seem to think. It's extremely important - not least to us artists. The fear of failure can be a bit of a hurdle, but one must believe that the things around us - including one's materials - want us to succeed, and that success doesn't have to look like a perfect result, but rather like something that leaves us more aware of what we can try next time, and how to do it. Increased awareness & understanding is always success, even if we have nothing physical to show for it. Internal growth is growth all the same. Also, that expensive paper is replaceable, no matter what your (okay, my) little head-gremlins try to tell me] you, so make a mess, then do better, screw up, screw around, learn something, look up some advice on the Interwebs, try again, then make some killer, bad-gif auroras. ~
I hope you get your miracle, or at the very least what you need to live a happy & fulfilling life doing what you love.
I very much believe that about disbanding - it's disheartening just to be a listener & watch the bands that are important to you break apart; being in the middle of it must be so real it leaves the taste of blood in your mouth. Even so, one of the most important things in life is transformation, and at least in my life I've learnt that what's usually viewed as a single timeline - birth to grave - is actually a series of lives & deaths marked by one's growth, shedding the 'yous' that have become too small, too tight, that are outdated & no longer necessary - no matter how comfortable & important they seem to be - and by being aware of- & surrendering to this flow you can use each life you complete to empower your New Life, and use the lessons to create something greater, more powerful, more pure, more authentic; make sure that the things you do come closer to mirroring your soul (or heart, or mind, per preference) -- and they do, for every death you come a little closer, grow a little more aware... if you let yourself, that is, and don't spend too much time clinging on to what has served its purpose & is no more. (Sorry if all that sounds very grim; as someone who is very prone to clawing onto the illusions of both the past & the future, yet experiences very real sensations of ends & beginnings, death & rebirth, I find it pretty reassuring & comforting personally, and worth embracing. Rather than pain the fear of change seems to have something to do with not trusting oneself to heal - like we're convinced we'll break and those cracks will be there forever, raw & hurting & bleeding just as much as when they first appeared, but they won't - not if we can learn to let go, and in doing so make space for all that will come to us if we're open enough to let it (not that that's easy in any way, but it's there for us if we're brave enough to choose it).)
Alright, thanks for clarifying out the process, I was not sure how it all was going to go down. I am so thrilled and excited about this, She looks perfect now, I love the left one (I think you term it V.2) with the shorter back fin.
Oh yes, this is going to be good.
I love that you even have an aquarium and didn't quite realize it. chuckles softly with you
YES, I completely agree and feel the same way (you must read from the minds of the past philosophers?) about the path we take, growth, and transformations we go through all the time. Often it is in small ways that we transform though when something major happens we are usually forced into a rapid metamorphosis. Your description didn't sound grim at all, in fact I found it rather uplifting. It feels freeing to think of letting go of the old unusable self and relish in the new self forming and growing.
I love that sentiment. I myself try to do that as well, I've been reading a lot about the lives of different philosophers of the past and found that many of them state similar view points. Though some are quite full of serious depression, anxiety, and hate humanity/the world - others see it in a more positive light. I for one don't like to think of life as pointlessly struggling towards death or non-existence as some put it.
For example, a philosopher presented this picture of our existence. He said our lives are like a spark between two dark pools (this coming from one of the more depressive philosophers) and the first pool is our pre-earth life and the other pool is our post-earth life. He remarked on how fascinating it is that we seem to obsess and worry over the second pool of darkness and never think of the first at all. Yet if we were to really think about it, we exist in the same state in both pools of water (he believed that we were turned into universal energy of sort, which was the closest he came to thinking of immortality otherwise his theories were that we just ceased to exist). Thus we should be equally terrified of both pools, both our pre and post existence on this tiny spark of life on earth we live. The point here would also be that each pool is a dark pool, unknowable, and he claimed that humans fret over the unknown. Therefore his analogy actually made several different points.
Anyways.... I do also love your point about increased awareness being a step forward and a success. I really love that sentiment and will have to write it down so I do not forget to utilize that one in my life. Thank you for sharing that. It is easy to forget all the tiny steps forward one makes when there is no visible proof. You are right about the paper, it's not a cost worth keeping me from trying and just having fun. I should just do it and if it runs out then paint on the ground, walls, or something else. LOL
Killer-bad gif-auras! LOL Oh gosh that is so funny, I love it.
Alright I am inspired. I will set to do that this week - try to get some sort of an aurora/experiment the gif part.

Okie, so I have recently adopted Maelen who is in need or some beautiful artwork. My vision is for her to be a (mythical??) Maltese tiger with bright blue eyes please.
