As for the squid, I think I get what you're going for, and I'll be happy to play around with the sketch(es) until we've got them figured out. As long as you guide me I'm sure we can make a neat little cephalopod!

For the squid I tried out both a more general blue / purple / ivory gradient & colours taken directly from the purple pearl ref. Hope I understood everything correctly, and if not (or if you'd like a different angle entirely) please let me know! (:
