I can understand the beanbags not being toys as they are technically furniture but plushies are, in fact, toys to be played with and collected.
I never really got why these were playable in the first place-- we put them in our collections, which is our way of playing with them y'know?
To anyone who has/had stuffies and beanie babies irl, and actually cared about them, would never give them to their irl pets to play with. Why should we be giving them to our fake pets? And if we're just talking about on subeta, than all irl comparisons are invalid so it doesn't really matter who played with what as a kid xD
Anyways, glad to see this changed as some of these suckers cost enough without being accidentally to pets.
PS: Do not envy doing this by hand. Do, not.

I'm surprised by the number of people who are totally for this.
I can understand the beanbags (since there are TONS of them with descriptions alluding to the fact they are the furniture type you sit on, not Beanie Babies), since you don't actually play with those, but plushies are quite literally toys. I don't like the idea that stuffed animals can't be played with. Just my two cents. ^^
Oh that makes me want to go and find the missing ones from mine now. XD

I understand the sentiment of playing with plushies-- I played with them sooooooooo much as a kid-- but from the standpoint of making plushies functional for the site, I much prefer them to not be playable. I'm only now starting to work on my plushie collection but I'm not buying any expensive plushies till this change is complete-- who wants to give a 200k+ plushie to their pet? As far as I'm aware there's no achievement from playing with plushies so it would be a total waste, especially since your pets' unhappiness increases by the hour. Very happy about this change, so sorry to hear you're doing it by hand. D:
Oh, thank god. I haven't actually screwed up the "play with/put in collection" buttons yet, but it'll be a load off my mind to not even have the option.

Major Drills is still asking for pets to play with plushies and beanbags.

or anyone know of a list with these plushies and beanbags that were marked as toys before.
I just checked with a programmer, it's set to ask for toys! I did some quests earlier and it did ask me for a plushie, but one that was still marked a toy. Once we're done marking them we can test it out and make sure.
No clue, sorry. I know most if not all of the plushies were, and the majority of older beanbags. Most/All of the beanbags I'd released myself weren't XD
