No more haggling = HUGE D I S L I K E
EDIT - if it is a small base of users that really utilize haggling, how bad is it hurting the sP field? I felt my savings was kind of ..reward for figuring out how much discount main shops were willing and the effort to always have my calculator or spreadsheet handy when I went shopping. smh
I am one of those rare players that actually uses the haggle feature, but that's ok. I don't mind streamlining the process at all. I was wondering whether this change could -not- be applied to All That Glitters, though, since you can actually save a decent amount of sP haggling there?
I don't understand anything about rarities. I personally think the 'no haggling' should be applied according to what shops are charging - it's fine with cheaper shops where items are sold for under 1000 sp, but not with more expensive ones like All That Glitters. Even at the Book Nook, I can save between 100 and 300 sp per book. With 15 pets to buy for, per book, that adds up to a lot of money. I'm not someone whose shops sell that well (yes, I'm too lazy to price every single day) so a few sp saved by haggling does mean a lot.
I guess as long as the buff is in place, the no haggling option isn't so bad. I still do miss haggling though, regardless.
I don't know, just seems like things are too easy now?

I noticed that my 20% discount gets applied to an item FIRST, and then the 15% buff is applied. Didn't it use to be haggle whatever % off first, then apply discount card? Not that it matters to me, either way. Just throwing it out there in case it wasn't intentional or something.
I think you should just offer as a free gift a random but lowish % discount card. It is not like every user is going to actually get the item. Some won't use it and sell it. This prevents you from making main shop prices overall cheaper.
I used the haggle option all the time, I pretty much had it down to a science. It was nice in conjunction with my 20 Percent Discount Card. I noticed that my 20 Percent Discount Card doesn't seem to be working anymore either, I have a buff right now for 15% off though. Shouldn't they stack?
So far today, I got the buff twice - is it always going to be this frequent? It just seems odd (and I know it isn't a lot of SP overall, or maybe it is), but I thought that you were trying to find ways to get SP out of the economy - isn't giving the discount buff opposite of that, since it doesn't cost as much to buy from main shops with the buff.
Unless the idea is that more people will buy from main shops if they have the discount buff. Maybe overall that will actually put more into main shops than before? I am rambling :P
I don't have a real strong opinion on the no haggling yet (even though I do like to haggle :( and make most of my SP from RSing ) but could you please make the shops have less space everywhere? Everything feels so huge. I tried using customCSS to make things smaller for my screen, but I just mess up the haggle page for items that are r90+ :(
And the WL box too hopefully? c:
Oh, hey, there's a buff for saving money in NPC shops now. I am appeased.
I'm very disappointed that haggling is gone. Taking interaction and the number game out of questing makes it more like a grind, and it sounds like those with faster connections have gained an advantage.nnMaybe there could be a "buy" button and a "haggle" button instead? That could, at least prevent the removal of interactive options in the game and satisfy those of us that like to pinch pennies.
I do appreciate the buff! Popped on the very first purchase I made from a main shop for a quest. I still miss the actual act of haggling, but this definitely does help salve the sting. :)
Just finished doing some quests and some restocking. In my opinion, the lack of haggling in the NPC shop has taken a lot of the fun out of doing those things. It wasn't the sP (in fact, I got the new buff right away). Nor was it lack of results. I managed to buy 3 copies of Advanced Seashell Collecting, 2 Nuclear Dillema Plushies, and a Gold Fish Straw fairly easily. It just seems to me that there is less need to think (no math, not as much decision in what to click first since it's just click then count rather than having to think about where my haggle time would be best spent), and now I need to try and count between purchases instead of being occupied. More frustrating, less engaging. Also, I find that haggling only for rare items is confusing since I almost never actually know which item is over the limit rarity (and I imaging new users will be totally lost with this). While questing, in particular, I don't know whether to click and move on, or click and wait for a haggle screen.
By the way, not directly related, but is there any possibility that the Search Button for the new shop search could be set to always on top? I find the new list is so fast now (great work on that - thank you) that I often wind up changing the item I'm searching for instead of starting my search.
I used to really enjoy restocking but this has kind of killed it for me.
My slower connection means i'm never going to beat someone in a first click wins it competition. When we at least had to type in a number i often did get to the post first. I could never restock on neo so it's been an unexpected pleasure on subeta. that may be gone now.
Also, it's just not as enjoyable all round. it doesn't feel like i'm doing anything. for the most part one click and i either get something or i don't. it's weirdly more frustrating when i don't get something (because it should be so easy) and less satisfying when i do get something (because it felt so easy).
it's just removed an element of effort, and after sitting refreshing the shop typing a number in is actually a welcome break activity wise.
More frustrating, less engaging, as said above.
It does make quests fractionally quicker but it's not like they were painfully hard work before.
I'd really like to see the haggle screen's triumphant return.
edit: also has the autocomplete gone in the shop search bar for everyone? that was the most useful thing on the site to me...
Will there be any way to add a pop-up box that says 'Are you sure you want to buy this item?' when buying an NPC shop item from the shop search? If I accidentally clicked on an NPC shop item instead of a user shop item, it used to be easy to go back and rectify the mistake because I just wouldn't haggle, but now the money just gets taken straight away and there's no chance to fix a mistake. I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, because I am quite clumsy, but the buttons are fairly close together so I can imagine it being quite a common mistake.
Seems like a good idea with the 15% off buff. Just hope that my 30% discount card is still being used, because if not, what's the point of having it?
so far very good - hated haggling but did it due to not wanting to miss out on sp
so much easier and more fun restocking now
buff turned up and made my day - woo hoo had a shopping spree thumbs up from me :D thanks !
I would love to be able to add my own stickers - I have so many in my vault. I don't want to impose on anyone to add my hundreds of stickers, so they're just rotting in my vault. What makes stickers so different from other collections anyway?
