It means no more captcha on items with a rarity of less than 90 :)! And it says it's in main and user shops ;)

Are you buying a plushie, trading card, or wardrobe item?

Basically: Haggling is one of those things that we brought over from Neopets without really thinking about. You could basically haggle down almost 20% of the item price which wasn't very good for getting sP out of the system if you worked out how much that was for the more expensive items. Most users didn't bother, and the ones that do didn't really need the extra sP.
Now that haggling is gone it removes a pretty big barrier to buying up more items from main shops to sell in your user shops ;)!
Also: of course the users who haggle are the first ones to see this topic :P

Discount cards are applied when you purchase the item.

I'll also look into releasing the discount cards again soon, and maybe adding buffs to lowering the amount of sP things cost in the main shops for x amount of time for those of you pinching pennies :)
This is a pretty big QoL improvement on buying things in shops, though.

By looking at how much people change the price ;) Most users either fill in the same price as the item, or the nearest "easy" number even if it's a little more (2222 for example).
I'll consider dropping prices on all main shops items by like 10% or something, though, that's a good idea!

Toggles just add a lot of complication to systems and require a lot of support. We won't be adding a toggle for things like this.
Just to clarify: this wasn't changed to act as a sP sink. It was changed to increase ease of use.

You just have to hard refresh and it'll show up :)

Working on the wardrobe button, it shouldn't be popping up if you already have the item in your wardrobe.
Hagging: I'm working on a buff today for people who frequently by from shops to give you an automatic discount, but we've seen a bunch more purchases from main shops today than usual, and I'm going to keep this change. It's just a much better flow.

I think Keith hit the nail on the head in that haggling and restocking was just simply something that was brought over from Neopets. It made sense at the same but the dynamics of restocking, and both games as a whole, have become vastly different over the years.
There was a lager restocking community on Subeta seven-eight years ago. It was a great way to earn sP but that community has dwindled to one of the smallest subsets of users as the nature of the game changed. We receive weekly emails of the most active features and none of the Main Shops (aside from Books) come anywhere close to the level of activity that we experience across a number of quests and other site features.
Haggling for a few hundred sP (when the average user has millions) is hardly worthwhile. I think the core element of restocking still stands with r90+ requiring haggling - that tests the true abilities of restocking and how fast you can type in numbers. But for a r60 with eight in stock? Where is the competition? Where's the value in reselling it?
And further - I think there's a lot of opportunity with the buffs and discount cards.
