- Yeah, my sister had a game hack that removed gender from the MC specifically so she could romance Morrigan, but she can't get the same game hack in 2 or inquisition, so she can't carry her game forward, that's why she's replaying it. I told her to just play as a guy but she wasn't having anything to do with that.

Oh, lol. All my MCs are male - my "problem" was the opposite because I can't stand Morrigan and would've liked to romance Alistair. But then I met Zevran and it really didn't matter anymore one way or the other (uuugh my love for him knows no bounds it's ridiculous really.)

And yeah, considering your romance in DA:O actually has a (small) impact on the game in DA:I I can see where that wouldn't work as a carryover with that mod. Can she just configure all her stuff in the Dragon Age Keep and import that into DA:I? Then she could have a male Warden but not have to play him...?

- lol. Yeah, Morrigan is very much my sister's 'type.' I haven't played, but I don't think I'm a huge fan of hers either. I thought Alistair was one of the bi characters, maybe I mis heard when my sister was explaining about it (it was also a while ago) Her problem with the game currently is apparently she is in a relationship with Alistair that she didn't actively pursue, and now he doesn't want to be king. You and my sister are very different people, she also can't stand Zevran.

I don't know how it all works. I don't think she can 'un-mod' it. She wanted to replay it anyway because she didn't ever really finish the other game properly cus all her characters were too far under leveled to actually beat the final level.

Alistair is only into girls, Morrigan is only into boys, Zevran and Leliana like either ^^ And yeah, we do sound completely different. My fics are my (male) Warden/Zevran, so if you find you don't care for him then I would recommend probably not reading them. Also, they are explicit and I know some people don't enjoy reading that sort of thing and I totally don't judge either way, but I do try to warn just in case! ^^

He's one of those characters who is always "on" if you know what I mean XD But he's just... yeah, idk, I can't explain him on the fly like this but he's he's one of my few "types" that I absolutely can't resist. He's also really handsome by my reckoning~

After compiled everything at the start of the week, I almost forgot to validate my word count... Just finished doing so and I had 10,476 out of 10,000... About 4,000 words I won't use because I started to go a different direction about a week and a half in, but they still gotten written so I counted them anyway. I am perfectly fine with that to be honest... I still haven't finished the synopsis, so I am kinda glad that many words are useless. LOL

- Makes sense. My sister doesn't usually like those types of guys. I was half watching over her shoulder when she got to the point of recruiting him, and every five seconds it was like "shut up Zevran" :P

Friend I'm staying with convinced me to write about 500 more words today. Still not anywhere near my word goal. I think I will carry over into august though. I am having fun writing these stories when I sit down to do it.

- Congrats! Just because words are useless in the end, doesn't mean you didn't learn anything from writing them :)

I love writing but I have intense problems with it. I constantly write stuff then forget and move on.. I also have artist anxiety and think no one likes it. I have so many ideas I work on one then get a new one and forget other one and do it constantly.. My latest idea is a card captor like story but I can't decide what minion to use as the opening. :'(

- Sounds like a lot of the same problems I have with writing! So excited to start a new idea at first, then another idea comes along and bam, the first idea isn't as fun anymore and I don't feel like finishing it. I also have some pretty bad artist anxiety OTL It's probably the main reason why I've constantly had trouble with Nano recently, cus I don't write anything down until it sounds good in my head, which usually takes thinking about it for about 30 minutes prior to writing it down! This board has been pretty helpful with that though, and if you want to get some friendly feedback on some of your writing, just ask. I'm sure someone would be willing to read it over for you :) I love card captors, and those types of real world turned fantasy type stories. Not sure what you mean about a minion to use as the opening though... like a Kero type minion? Or like the nob who accidentally releases magic into the world?

Oh by minion I meant what goon the antagonist summoned will the hero fight first? Also I wanna write a Magical Girl story but I just can't think of an opening or at least word it properly.

Ah! But you got a good chunk of it done. The fact that you did any writing is a victory in and of itself, imo. :)

I came nowhere close to my word goal, but I'm just proud that I actually accomplished anything. lol

- Close? I only made 1/4 of my word goal, but yes, any writing is a victory.

- Well, if you are writing, just string a bunch of words together that sounds cool, and leave the creating of the monster/minion up to the imagination of the reader :) And as far as magical girl stories, usually they start out with an ordinary day, and then some cataclysmic event, but generally anything goes.

...oh. 8k made it sound like you were close. My bad. D:

So many short stories were planned. Barely one got written. Seems we ended up writing about the same amount, tho. LOL

- August camp? lol.

Speaking of August camp, I've started working on something I am calling "The August Project" and I think I've got a plan in place that will keep me on track.

Posting my objectives here so I can reference them later:

1. Go through my resources and find the information I regularly use. Move them to a file for quick reference so I won't have to dig through repetitive or non-applicable information to find them.
2. Pick a story and find all notes about it: Combine into a single Word file; highlight the stuff that is applicable; (optional) create an up-to-date document. -note to my future self- Yes, Word. Scrivener is wonderful, especially for full-on synopses and story writing, but Microsoft Word is more streamlined and minimizes distractions while making notes. So, future self, don't let Scrivener lure you away until you are ready.
3. Repeat until I've done that with all of them. Future self, remember what happened in July. Don't get too caught up on one project.
4. Pick a document, use it for reference, and start elaborating. That is, start making character profiles, beat sheets, summaries/synopses.

I am hoping to get 1 thru 3 done by the end of August at least. 4 may not happen until September.

Sounds like a good plan of attack! Go go go~! :D
