Congrats on finishing your Camp NaNoWriMo project! That's awesome!
I've still got some work to do on the alien world synopsis (i.e. Camp NaNoWriMo project) before I'll feel comfortable calling it complete, but I'm probably 70-75% of the way there. I'm sure I'll want to work on it some more over the coming months (just not as intensively) so I am not too worried about it.
[edit] Apparently, I typed the rest of this into another window. Handy! XD
Anyway, as I almost said elsewhere, the hardest part is going to be not letting myself get burn out on writing like I did after NaNoWriMo 2014 so I've built a lot of flexibility into my so-called "August Project" and I'm trying to make a point of taking the weekends off anyway.
It's frighteningly easy to burn out, isn't it? I took a nearly 6-month hiatus from writing after NaNo 2013 D: Hopefully the burn doesn't hit you as hard as you fear it might. Maybe just making the goal to write a half-page every day or something like that?
I am starting to learn how I work best.
Just purposely taking taking the weekend off helps. By keeping my writing to a minimum for two/three days a week, I am more productive otherwise. I also make a point of regular switching between different aspects of my project, as well as working in the occasional "research day"... I don't get much writing done on research days but typically the next day or two is given a productivity boost.
Writing an actual story will be different than what I am working on right now, of course. Days off and research days will still be a thing for me, at that point, but I won't have to switch around to different aspects. Stories are forward moving; this synopsis stuff is like driving in circles. I have to change direction regularly or I'll get dizzy. LOL
lol that makes sense! That's a good idea, though, to have everything plotted and researched and worked out before jumping into the actual writing bit.
- It ended up being one of those plane rides with TONS of kids, and one was right behind me, and was probably the screamiest of them all. :( I worked on some overdue art instead, I did get about 100 words in during the turbulence though. today is one of the days I don't have too many things planned, so maybe will get some good writing today, but still 8000k away from my goal, and have only worked on 3 of the 10 stories I wanted to work on, and none of them are even finished. Two are halfway-ish, one is just an intro paragraph.
I'm glad you got something, at least! But UGH screaming children... I'm so sorry :( I hope you're able to make more progress today! Plug into headphones and go into Writing Mode for a while?
Ack! Sorry I left you hanging like that. ;n;
Got dragged away from my computer and I completely forgot, followed by guilt-laden avoidance for forgetting in the first place. D:

- lol, I had to go back to your recent posts to figure out what you were talking about! :P Well, if you are up for a word war again, gimme a ping :)
As much as I'd love to, I've got packing to do for a trip beginning the 31st and no time to write. :(
Ah well. I at least got started on the project. I'll just have to continue it while I'm away. :)

- Yeah, same. On vacation now, not going to make my word goal, but I should at least go to the camp site and put in what I've got.
Yeah. Best to acknowledge how you did and revel in the minor victory that is actually getting something written. :)

Having kind of a rough time the past week, ever since I finished my NaNo project. That story is over and now I get to move on to something else, but I'm just feeling kind of lost because... well, that story is done. It's hard for me to get into a totally different headspace now :(
- Editing time! lol. AKA, go back and re-write the whole thing!
- Not enough. If I want to make my goal I have to write 8000 words today.
I edited as I went. It's all 100% finished and posted up on AO3.
Ooo nice. Can you send me a link??
This is my AO3 account. The fic I just finished it the third (and last) in a series :)
Going to write something for Dragon Age 2 now. I've had the idea crashing around in my head for a while, but it's a matter of getting into the right frame of mind to write purple/sarcastic Hawke... ^^;
- Nice. My sister is trying to get me to play dragon age, so I should maybe do that before reading any of the stories.
It would definitely help them make sense! lol I finished Dragon Age: Origins in about 2 weeks, and that's with doing all the sidequests and the main-game DLC (not the post-game DLC though - I was too antsy to get to DA2). I would have finished it quicker, but I had to fit it in around being really busy at the same time D: It's a fantastic game, though! The whole series is just... fabulous. DA:O has 2 straight characters (one interested in girls, one interested in boys) and 2 bi characters. DA2 - all possible love interests are bi (!!!). DA: Inquisition has straight, bi, gay, and lesbian characters. AND the most well-handled trans* character (sadly not a love interest though) I've ever seen in a video game.
Sorry for the textblob. I got excited XD;
- Yeah, I know a lot about it. My sister has been re-playing it, so that she can replay DA:2 so that she can carry forward the story into Inquisition. I don't think I could do it in two weeks regardless, I'm generally not very good at games that are not pokemon. lol.
