Ha ha, it really is a great name! And doubly handy in that it can work in a modern or medieval setting and isn't gender specific. ;)
- thanks so much guys! Those will help out a bunch. (and Mary, you are right on the mark, actually, Jory, Cain, and Reid are already names of other characters in the story!)
Still need 200 words to be at yesterday's goal! Ugh. And then I can take a break and get stuff done that needs to be done. Then... it's back to writing! Today is the day I get back on track! Even if I have to stay up until 3am to do it!
Haha, awesome! Glad I could help. :)
I really hope you don't have to be up until 3 am! But good on you for having that goal and working to stick to it :D
- well I only need 2000 words to get there, and I've done more than that for the past two days, so I should be able to!
Oh man I wish I was at home instead of working right now. I've been writing (by hand in a notebook because I don't want to type this all up on my work PC) and I feel like there are a lot of words there that aren't getting written because my handwriting, while relatively quick (and sloppy!!) is nowhere near as fast as my typing.
How is everyone else doing? Making some progress?
- Yeah, I tried the writing by hand once, and I often forgot the sentence I was trying to write before I got to the end of it!
In other news, 6666 words! Time for a break, and possibly lunch!
- Yeah, I couldn't write at all the first two days either. But I'm almost caught up now! You can do it!
- totally doable. If you keep that up, hopefully you won't have to do a 15000 word weekend marathon like I had to last year. Man my mother was pissed off at me after that. We were supposed to meet up, but I had turned my phone off and unplugged my internet for 0 distractions, and I totally forgot, and she was super worried!
- No, it was awful. Not just the fact that I detached myself for two days and just wrote, but the guilt trip that my mother (justifiably) lay down on me, that was the worst. I got no writing done the day after that and was behind again!
- Well at least it wasn't 15k words behind anymore! Just 1.6k, much less daunting.
Oh man I did that last year too! The 15k in two days, anyway... that final 48 hour stretch was absolutely terrible. I don't even remember what I wrote during it, just that I poured words from my brain into a document and clicked save repeatedly. I don't even think they were coherent words :p
Here's hoping NONE OF US get stuck in that pit this year! Especially not to the point of worrying parents (or SOs)
- the mark of a true nanoer! :D But yes, lets try to avoid that this year.
When I began last year I was already 13 days behind. Honestly I should have just let it go without shooting for 50k and planned to go for a win the next year, but I'm a stubborn little idiot and I couldn't stand to put that much work in and not 'win'. And thus cornered myself into 15k hell XD Never. Ever. Again!
I have so much respect for people who write in a language that isn't their first one. Total respect and a touch of jealousy because that's an incredible accomplishment!
- respect. I let myself get that far behind just by being lazy :P
- That's cool! I went to your profile to figure out for first language :P I also looked up your dolls. Kiri kind of reminds me of one of my characters :) (although, not going to lie, BJD (and dolls in general) for the most part creepy me out! But I follow a couple people on deviantArt who do some really great BJD work, and it's almost making me want to get into it (so expensive though))
Have to go babysit my sister's dog and then play DD for her and my dad after their scotch tasting party tonight. Gonna have to be at my 8333 words before then!
