Very true! First week tends to go well for me usually, middle of the second is where it hits hard. >.<
At least you've got a good reason. :P 345 for me, mostly because of character who needed a name and didn't want to give me one, only half of one that didn't quite work and left me waffling, lol.
Go again at :40?
- Sure, want to do 20 minutes?
- Cool. I got a forum point making my last post! There's not a whole lot in the forum shop I want right now though. Hopefully they come out with something cool.
657! So apparently having that name worked out helped a lot, lol. xD How about you?
- lol. Nice, I got like... less than 100 words. I ended the chapter and then decided to go back to some neglected characters and realized that it had been a very long time in the story since I wrote about them, so i had to go back and see where I left them off!
Did you manage to dig up the info you needed at least? I hate when I'm like "oh hey, didn't something happen to x character?" and then try to go back and find the scene and wind up searching through a million files and digging up all kinds of other random bits I'd forgotten, and still can't track whatever it was down and am stuck wondering if I just planned for the thing to happen and didn't actually write it, or if I did write it and just totally forgot where it fit in, lol.
- I did find it, but It was left off at a rather vauge point. When I'm editing, I'm going to have to shuffle in an extra chapter or two with teh 'evil' characters!
I was writing... and then I realized that I legitimately forgot some of the details of what one of my MCs looks like. I don't really refer to my characters by descriptors very much, so while I remember that he's a redhead... I can't remember if he has freckles?? Or if his hair is curly or straight?? Oh God I have to dig through the pile of fertilizer that is last year's NaNo HELP. cries
- welcome to my nightmare! At least I had the foresight to make character sheets for all my characters in this story. My other one was a disaster for that. At one point I even forgot which of the 4 MCs was the shortest and which was the tallest!
- You around? Wanna do a word war? anyone for that matter? Need lover 3000 more words today to be on track!
I need to change (just got home from work) and finish typing the notes I made this afternoon in my notebook, then I will totally give it a whirl!
- w00! let me know when you are ready
Rough start for me... I can't seem to get myself motivated :( I thought this would be the year I finally complete it... but feeling that probably won't be the case again.
Don't get too down yet! It's only day 4 :) You can do it!
Okay, I'm ready when you are! How do we want to do this?
- want to try and have a word war with us? For me word wars really drive me to get stuff done. Are you feeling unmotivated to write? Or just stuck on your story and lacking inspiration/drive? I've discovered that it is important to figure out why you are having trouble putting words on the page, because that way you can try to fix it.
- 15 at :30?
Sure I'll join in the word war :) And my main issue is just finding the motivation to sit down, not do anything else, and write. I tend to get distracted after a little while and just never get back to it. This story idea of mine is several years (more than several years old ;-;) and I'd really like to get somewhere with it finally. I'm also one of those people who can't help but to go back an edit after I've only written a few pages x.x
- sounds to me like you are a perfect candidate for word wars then! And it seems to me like you are similar to me, writing a story you've had for years, but having difficulty getting it onto the paper!
