Yeah, I usually play around with my wardrobe a lot until I have the desired look. Thankfully I have a lot of wearables to play around with. I'm collecting for the wardrobe achievement so I pretty much throw everything in my wardrobe including some items that I think I would never wear and they end up being useful afterall.

Yes, sometimes you can layer clothes you never thought of before very well, I knew that from my Aywas wardrobe. I have still to adapt to this one, though.

Sorry for such a late response, I didn't realize you responded so quickly. Yeah, everything has a use. I just wish there were fewer pretty stuff because I have tons of stuff on my WL and I do normally change my outfit regularly (unless I'm showing it off because it was super expensive and I need to make enough use of it to be worth the cost, like in this situation). LOL.

Also, whomever sent me: Whipped Cream Funnel Cake in an anon gift thank you! I know it had to be someone from this thread because I had posted about cakes. ^-^ And I am totally going to eat another pastry either today or tomorrow. :D

aww, thank you so much for this <3 and I think this is a lovely theme, I like it a lot.

so culture...well, I'm Austrian and I think one item that is rather stereotypical of Austria but oh so very nice is: the dirndl

I used to HATE them. I wouldn't want to wear them ever. Just to let you all know: not the whole of Austria wears these things, but a lot of people do. I recently started wearing them though. Why? Let's just say they make you look awesome! since the bodice is kind of like a corset and rather tight it makes your cleavage look amazing which is lovely.

plus, were I leave we have a huge festival coming up were people from all over come and were dirndl and lederhosen and eat awesome, awesome Austrian food, and drink wine. It's a lot better and I assume a lot less crowded then the Oktoberfest which is what I assume most people have heard of. (fun fact: while I haven't been to the Oktoberfest in Munich I went to one in Japan...in May xD)

I wonder if Chris will be more creative then me xD

I'm not being very active here, huh?

Uhm... one thing that reminds me my country is the caipirinha People here in Brazil realy like to drink this, don't matter when: carnival, christmas, easter... It really taste good, anyway :) Here is a recipe of caipirinha (no one asked but you must deal with it):

You'll need: 1 Lemon, Sugar, Cachaça (good luck to find this thing XD) and Ice; Now: Cut the lemon and take off the seeds because they make the drink taste acid; Smash them with sugar in a cup; Add ice and cachaça; Drink it >(._.)>

Cleared by staff. Width may not exceed 450 pixels.

Greetings from Germany, we have a lot of Dirndl at the Oktoberfest, that´s right. I am in the Ruhr area, not accustomed to them, LOL, yet I have to say there ARE pretty ones!

Like mentioned I live in Germany yet the home of my heart and soul is Hawaii. The Hawaiians have the tradition of giving beautiful lei, flower wreaths adorned with leaves, shells, seeds, nuts and even feathers, to people they love and even to greet visitors and welcome them with a warm "Aloha". Lei giving is a regular part of any special occasion such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and graduations. Using Hawaiian language grammatical rules, Aloha is translated literally as "The joyful sharing of life energy in the present" and shows the way of traditional life on the islands.

Thank you for the gift ! However, I do have to say that the .gif attached was the best part :D

I picked the minion conflict because it represents the balance between good and evil forces, something I think is the key to happiness in life. I also dedicate my studies at school to understanding morality, good/evil, etc.

Aaaaaaand I really like snakes... if you couldn't tell from my avatar and profile :)

BECAUSE MURICA!

I've got nothing good for the 'Culture' on my end. For reals. Nothing from family in terms of traditions.

BUT on a more personal note this because BABY Girl is due in about 8 weeks so that's kind of all I care about right now.

Thank you for the prizes and congrats to everyone. I totally came home early because there was only permit parking on the street and I was tired enough, so I dropped my boyfriend off and came home :P Subeta was only like 5% of the reason I came home. xD I haven't had a look around Subeta for an item, does it have to be a Subeta theme thing or can it just be a picture of anything?

NVM I found something that could work.

So, it's the closest thing I could find to pomegranate (that actually had a pom in it). Also, honey and apples. I live in America, but I was born in Israel and with Rosh Hashanah (the jewish new year) being less than a month away, I figured what better item to represent my culture than a pomegranate and honey & apples?! Rosh Hashanah is celebrated by spending time with your family and greeting the new year with a sweet start. Eating pomegranates as well as apples dipped in honey is a Rosh Hashanah tradition observed by jews worldwide. It's not exactly the same thing as watching the ball drop on new years eve, but some people do count down to midnight and kiss and all that stuff, it really is however you want to celebrate it, but usually there is a Rosh Hashanah dinner and the aforementioned sugary indulgences. It is also a custom to eat/taste a fruit you've never tasted before.

I'm not a heavily religious person, but for me Judaism is more about the culture and traditions inherited from the culture than the religion itself. My brother is an orthodox jew and he is heavily religious, but I'm more free. I do believe in spirituality, I'm actually fascinated with wiccan beliefs so I would consider myself wiccan-jew, jewish by tradition, wiccan/neo-pagan by choice of belief/spirituality.

Also I hope everyone in Israel is safe during this terrible time and will be able to enjoy a happy Rosh Hashanah despite all the fighting and war.

Not 100% but I can at least manage to shower and not slip and fall! :x

Yay! Warning this is going to be a LOOOONG post, haha!

An item that meaningful to my culture is [item2=red envelope]

If you aren't already familiar with this item, it's basically a symbolic red envelope given by adults to kids/unmarried 20's (not sure what to call 20-year-old people who are married) with money inside. Although it's an unspoken rule, you must put a monetary bill inside (no coins--that's bad. Don't do it.) The value of the bill usually says something about your relationship with the receiver. (IE. $5 would mean you don't really know them, $50-$100 means they're very close you/immediate family. It's also expected that grandparents/elders give more than married adults do.) It symbolizes good luck/fortune and when the exchange happens, the receiver and giver exchange good wishes such as (this is a rough translation) "lots of good luck to you", "may all the bad spirits(?) go out the door". "study hard in school", "good health for the year" (there's also a variation for your grandparents/old people that should only be said to them and NOT young adults as that would be very offensive).

Now that I'm older (but not married) I look back at when I was a kid, receiving these envelopes were like my real Christmas. We never celebrated any traditional holidays and had no allowance so this was a huge deal for a young kid with no money. In a way, it taught me to make the money last and to "pace" myself if you will. :P

Fun fact: my pet Feng Huang is dedicated to everything I love about my culture. Even Feng Huang is symbolic. It's kind of like a phoenix bird that is usually paired with the Long (or Luhng) which are supposed to rule together and is commonly shown together at weddings as a union of two beings.

As for important items to me:

If you don't recognize it, they're tribute items to Leia Organa and Han Solo from Star Wars! :)

They're important to me because it makes me think of how my current BF made me watch Star Wars (don't worry, I was meaning to watch it for a LOOOONG time). He is my Han Solo and I am his Princess Leia. :) ❀ It makes me think of how awesome he is and there is nobody else that I could love that much. :') I even got him a poster of an info blueprint of the Millennium Falcon! :)

Another fun fact: I have the pet Han Solo that I love to death ❀
