Laughing babies! :D
My nephew is such a cutie when he laughs.
Yay Canada! I used to live in Yorkshire or some mall town near Toronto. I just remember going to Yorkshire Elementary School. And then I moved to America a few years later. I can't remember if I actually ever visited the CN Tower.
Ouuu that's cool! You lived near Coxwell and Danforth? I used to rent near there (Woodbine and Danforth) so that's really cool! n_n
The CN tower is more or less the same since forever... xD Meh. So you didn't miss much. :P
| 🍬 | 💋 | 🎄 | 🌸 | 👠 |
I wouldn't even know anymore, I just know what elementary school I went to when I was 6/7. And that the CN tower was in Toronto and that I was near Toronto. Lol
Also, by Yorkshire I totally meant Thornhill. Bwahaha. Sorry. See I'm just so confused about things.
Thanks for the WT and WL. ^-^
I'm gonna post some architecture either later tonight or sometime tomorrow morning, but I'm too lazy right now.
Although I will say I love spiral staircases (though not going down them ugh).
I love architecture as well and it's a big part of my hunt for a wedding venue. One of the most beautiful places I have ever been is where my wonderful fiance took me to propose. The Magic Castle in Hollywood California. We arrived and I was let in two double doors into their lobby entrance where I got to say the magic words to open up a hidden passage behind a book shelf. We walked around the many decorated halls and watched as various magicians performed magic tricks throughout the rooms. We then made our way down to a bar that was un occupied (because it was closed) called the hat and the hair. I'm obsessed with white rabbits (and alice in wonderland) so I loved the rabbit signs and and after playing a game of darts and sticking the last dart back on the board I turned around to see my now fiance on one knee. After I remembered how to breath and stopped jumping up and down, I of course said yes. Then we had dinner (spinach ravioli in a cream sauce. Yum!) then rushed to a hilarious adult humored magic show. You are not allowed to take pictures inside so I found this on the web from an article.
Here is a picture of the main bar area.

It was so lovely and we plan to go back some time.
That is an absolutely wonderful reason :)
Ours are rescues! Maggie was around 1 when I adopted her 11 years go (She's now 12), Dixie was 12 weeks old (She's now 11).. but somehow in the adult section and I fell in love again, Boregard was about 6 months when we rescued him (He's now 7 years old!) 💜 We're one of those "Who rescued Who" families!
Dubai has some amazing and incredible Architecture! I am so beyond green with envy that you've been there! Do you have pictures of some of your site seeing?! Have you seen the other two buildings in person too?
I have two favorites that often coincide I love castles and I love buildings with scary/weird/incredible pasts. Here is one of my favorite local places The Robert Koch Hospital It is about Robert Koch Hospital for contagious diseases. I live not 5 minutes from here. The site itself is truly spectacular... just passing onto the grounds has the oddest feeling! I've noticed SO many of these "contagious diseases" hospitals have the most fascinating looks. A large portion of them look as if they belong in Gotham. It is a very eerie gothic sort of architecture.
I also took a trip to Hannibal Missouri with my Mom a couple years back. They have this wonderful lighthouse, and the entire town is 1700ish river trading city architecture. An awesome trip! They have this fabulous little restaurant that used to be one of the country's first "red light districts." Fascinating seeing all the brick work, and imaging trees and other good coming up the river to build these gorgeous buildings!
Edit: I can't believe I forgot the Campbell House in St. Louis, MO, US. Holy cow... I toured this home on Halloween last year and it was breath taking. Every single thing was hand made, it was furnished with the finest of things from Paris and all over the world. The Campbell's themselves were amazing too but the house? I remember remarking that the carriage house out back was so beautiful I would gladly live in it! If you'd like to see pictures or read about it here it is The Campbell House I love touring homes and buildings both old and new!
I have not yet been able to travel to Ireland/Scotland. I am very much wanting to go someday. My boyfriend is actually from Ireland. c: So the claddagh ring inward may be closer in my future, .
Now to architecture!
Okay so I haven't traveled to many places. The first place that sticks in my head the most is going to Saint Louis, Missouri to visit my best friend and we went up in the Arch.
This is a picture I took of it in 2009. Its rather large so I won't post the full image. c: It is 630 feet in the air and was wonderful! I loved being in it, going up in and looking down at everything. I discovered I'm not as afraid of heights as I thought I was. ^_^

First off, BLACK CATS FTW! I adopted my last cat from a rescue. I had just started to look for a new kitten/cat and my goal was an orange male. Not even close to what I got. I went in to look, saw her and it clicked right away. And that was that :)
Thanks for the token, I appreciate it! You're coming up with some really neat ideas for conversations! I can relate to the judging everything about everything but I can't say I've traveled to anyplace that has anything that is atritecturally worth mentioning.
Las Vegas is AMAZEBALLS! But that may have just been the nonexistent open container laws. I did ride the roller coaster on top of New York New York and that was a pretty awesome setup. Seriously, who puts a roller coaster on top of a building?!
The John Hancock Center building in Chicago is something that sticks out for me but more for personal reasons and less actual architecture. Although it has these glass boxes and you can hang out over the edge. Did it to do it, but NOPE on so many levels.
I'm more into ancient buildings and artifacts than modern buildings but some of the things that you all have posted look pretty awesome!
You don't look old! Hahaha and advanced happy birthday ^_^
For the architecture, i choose this
It's the St. Charles Bridge in Prague. I'll just make it into a message for you :)
Take comfort in the fact that you're well enough to live another year ^_^ If you haven't visited prague, you should! It's really beautiful. Hihi.
Antoni Gaudi's Casa Batlló in Barcelona. I love all of Gaudi's work but the dragon house is my fave. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casa_Batll%C3%B3
Thank you for the WL items! And that gif, ah x'D Did you do an immature day? RL has taken my attention recently, I don't have a clue what's going on not that I ever do
Don't know if I'm too late to enter this one, but I'm going to tell you about a pretty building anyway.
That's Corsham Court, in England, and it's absolutely amazing. It's one of the buildings I've spent time in for uni - my course is totally unrelated to architecture, they just apparently thought "Let's give them some pretty scenery, all go to Corsham Court". The inside is all wood and stone (there's even a toilet that looks like a wooden table with a hole in it lol), and the walls are covered in paintings (some old, others modern) and mounted animal horns etc. Outside, there are peacocks roaming the grounds. Lovely!
Really? Small world indeed xD I've yet to meet someone else from near our parts here on subeta so great to meet you!
You're into architecture? Cool! Maybe when you get your internship I might see you around xD Singapore is tiny~ And be prepared to become a VERY patient person! We have to queue for everything, even going to the washroom or boarding the public train o_o Also it's super hot here so pack many short-sleeved clothes.
I'm not into architecture, but I definitely appreciate anything related to art. The following buildings are located in Singapore because I'm a frog in the well xD
The Interlace
I pass by this building everyday when I'm going to school, and what really intrigues me is that it's a residential building and everyday I ask myself, "How the heck do they make the lifts work inside that?" Till this day I still have no idea. Maybe they have individual lifts for each block. I hope I'll find out one day xD
The Gateway East and West
IT'S SO WEIRD. I've only seen this building once or twice from a cab, and it really messes up my brain. It looks 2D?! I have no idea how they made it work xD Architecture is a mystery, man. I've never seen the other side of it but I'm pretty sure it's actually triangular.. ??
- Of course you can eat the cookie! :3
I don't know squat about architecture. I'm just uploading an image I found while doing a project for school last Spring. This place looks so cool!

I completely forgot about this oops. Was too excited because my new laptop came in today. ^-^
Well I am fascinated by spiral staircases, like I said earlier, but I also like flying buttresses and arches, I think buildings that use these designs are so pretty. And I guess that also makes the aqueducts and Arch de Triumph some of my favorite architectural structures because the arches just add so much beauty and grace to buildings. And gothic cathedrals as well. They look like lace on a building and I'm a fan of lace. I don't really go to many places, but I've been to France and Italy with my family when I was younger and I was always fascinated by the gothic cathedrals. Because even ancient people loved curves. ;) Also, I can't remember if this is the correct term but I also like buildings that use cross-vaults.
Last year I actually went to visit Ireland with my boyfriend and we went to Ross Castle and Muckross House in Killarney and even though those aren't gothic cathedrals, no arches or flying buttresses the architecture of the buildings was interesting. We also visited one of the old remaining Viking towers in Waterford and it was just interesting to learn about the culture and experiences. When I was a kid traveling with my parents to these kinds of things I didn't enjoy it because I was tired quickly and I didn't appreciate the history behind it, but as an adult I really can appreciate it and learn from it.
I know the post is a bit past the timeframe for the last competition, but hopefully it'll still count. ^-^
OMG that's beautiful, I need to go visit Prague sometime, so I'll definitely check that out. The mist makes it all the more interesting in that photo.
SO SORRY THIS IS HUGELY LATE. With carnival happening I was really busy (out having fun) and was too tired to think when I got home. Teehehee

The CN tower has always been on my to visit list :P
They are all so prettyyyy :D I love stair like that... They are hard to walk up though XD
Woahhhh that stadium looks huge!
That is such a beautiful proposal.. I almost cried.
I do but they are from 8ish years ago so I think my mama has them :P I've been to the Sagrada Familia but not the Notre Dame du Haut. Th Sagrada is beautiful I'd recommend it to anyone!
That hospital is interesting.. Kind looks like a castle :P
1700 Architecture is amazing! I love little village architecture. My university city is sort of village like ^^
That house is cute to.. quite a few of the stately home here in the UK are like that ^^
OH MY DAYS... you were at the top of that? It's so pretty. But so high!
Tehehe, thanks :D
And I love that building! We studied skyscrapers this year so I spot certain things on it that are pretty common/uncommon :P
I love ancient architecture! More so Gothic churches.
O_O I need to visit prague!.. Like now
I saw this swell while we were in Barcelona. It's amazing!!
Nooo ;-; I forgot! Dammit. Might do it in a few days :P
And oh my days.. country houses snuggles
The UK ques for everything already XD I think I'm well practiced on that. St. Kitts doesn't and it gets on my nerves every time we visit there and everyone is just doing there own thing =/
XD That is one crazily awesome building.. They probably have circulation in the bits that cross over each other. and yahh it is probably split into blocks. Hahaha looks crazy though!
My brain hurts.. now I have to research that!
That looks awesome! But I think it might be a stage or photoshopped... looks to cool to be real XD XD
hides I was very late =/ so you're fine ^^
Oooo what laptop?
Gothic is my favourite architectural century! Kinda the same as your reason it's just beautiful and delicate!.. I think cross vaults is correct :D Fan vaults are my favourite.
Spiral staircases are amazing.. but contrary to popular belief they actually take up more space than normal stairs. So we don't use them much in projects ;-;
O_O Need to visit Ireland.. soon.
Wow, you all have so many pretty buildings! I'm glad this is getting some of you talking as well :D Hopefully I've made a couple friendships from this about me week ^^
All WT will be sent out today. When I have time. Making bunting for the partyyy :D :D

Alsoooo... The coal pacifier is a staple item to me ^^ I love it! What's your interpretation?

If you're rocking one when I start the next comp I'll give you a...
Ending after 5pm 26th August
Then I would love to take number 8, the infinite cipher! <3
Oh, an Ornate Floral Pitcher! Wow! Have to think about a little story, then..... :-)
Edit: I think Montage is a very clever girl. She knows the ways of the Pacifier Fairy! This fairy godmother helps toddlers to give up their pacifiers and brings the soothers to newborns who need them more. It is custom that the child lays the pacifier one evening onto the windowsill and when it stands up the next morning, a precious gift lays there instead and the pacifier is taken. In my imagination, Montage lays her pacifier onto the windowsill every night and then finds little wrapped gift bags in the morning for shedding love in the giveaway here! <3

I'll grab
I'm not much of a writer, which is just as well as I'd just end up shoving the pitcher in a pet's TC. But I can't pass up an HA making challenge. (off to find a pacifier....)
The story/idea doesn't need to be longer than 100 words :P and you can pick the same item.. Just edit the post so thought I'd let you both know :D
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE Thank you :D:D:D
Also country houses are the best. My granny lives in this adorable little stone cottage surrounded by farmland, and makes jam and traditional cakes all the time. She always has a cake for you if you visit. It's uncanny.
As for the next contesty bit, if I'm still allowed to enter after winning a prize on the last one, I'll claim number 3 please.
And omg. I see you on the forums all the time, and I am always intrigued by that item. I've seen you change your HA lots, but it always stays (I like it though, that way I recognise you by your HA xD) The first time I saw your HA, I had two theories (I'm being serious here, I really thought this):
Don't know if I did that right, but er, that's my interpretation. xD Whatever the actual reason behind it, I will totally join you in wearing one. Let us form a huge dummy-wearing army.
We shall post a pic of our interpretation with a Coal Pacifier, too?
