the expression on that HA with pink/orange is very cute!
so glad you're enjoying King again! hurray
That's good! Sorry for the late response I went on a road trip to get my stuff from Colorado and just got back!
That's good! I'm glad to hear your doing okay at least! I love the ha!
Sorry for late reply, I went on a road trip! Also I think that's a good idea to get into the spooky mood. I would look into if there is any out there that are blind friendly, maybe ones that are aimed more for families might have more options? It's rainy and cold today so perfect spooky weather so I'm watching spooky things on youtube haha
The eyes item is so silly but cute. 😊
Don't apologize for real life! I hope you got all of your stuff and everything went smoothly!
voting just opened on a contest that I actually managed to enter - go vote for your favorite :D

I think dragon riders of pern was her first writing but she wrote other things. the ones I mentioned were part of the dragon riders series but written for younger readers
thank you! glad you like it :D
yeah, same, too bad you didn't have the stars thing but looks like you got some :D
I got all but one, I think. They're so cute!
- if I could move back to New Orleans, I would in an instant. I loved it down there. The food! omg, I'd weigh 5x what I do now if I still lived down there. 😂
- I really liked the series about the retired cop that you told me about although I don't remember the title of the series any longer. XD
- a road trip sounds like fun. Did you have fun on it? :D
Yayyy! I can't wait for them to get more improvements done too!
Oh gah! I need to go on a vacation there now! LOL
- When we first moved there we went the tourist route and took one of the Haunted History tours. It was so much fun! I bet you and Liz would have fun just trying to capture some ghosts on film, never mind the food....dies 😂
That sounds like so much fun and I know I would love it! Liz would suffer it to keep me from complaining. LOL Seriously though, I quit doing vacations as she has gotten sick on every one we've ever been on. Our last one was about 12 years ago and we went to Puerto Vallarta with some friends and she got so sick I had to find a local doctor and they worked for a big hotel near where we were staying. Cost me a small fortune. 🤯 Now you have me interested in the New Orleans food and will Google to see their foods!
love your HA! as for vacations, do you get any kind of respite coverage to handle caring for Liz while you take a vacation? Maybe she could stay home & you could go somewhere without her, since she always gets sick while traveling & wouldn't really enjoy it for that reason.
I'm listening to an audio book of Alien Clay by Adrian Tchaikovsky, and I keep thinking you would probably enjoy it. It's a very interesting story about the rebel academic ecologist and his time at a prison work camp on an alien planet. The narrator reading it does such a great job with the character!
I could go on vacation and leave her home with Philip (husband and her dad) but I wouldn't do it as he would let her eat like crazy and do nothing but sit on the couch and watch TV. LOL! She does get respite hours but so hard finding someone that fits. The last one came to our house and just sat at our kitchen table while I cooked food for them. I hope your weekend is going great! I've actually been somewhat lazy today and while it's nice I do get a little bored.
I think you should do it - it wouldn't hurt Liz to sit and watch TV and eat for a weekend while you had a nice vacation. Travel for you, staycation for her LOL
Or take Philip with you on vacation and let the respite person take care of Liz. You won't have to cook for them if they come when you're out of town. You could try to find someone who would commit to getting her to exercise at least once a day?
(Just make sure they're bonded so you're covered if they mess something up at your house)
If you haven't gone anywhere in 12 years I think it should be fine, like, you kind of are owed at least two vacations a decade! heh. (that's about how many I'd take if it wasn't for my mom insisting on me going on one with her nearly every year)
This past September I thought seriously about going to Disneyland with some friends and she actually wanted to go. But we don't have the stupid enhanced ID's yet and I've been hearing horror stories about the hassle to get one so I wimped out. I really need to take care of that so I can seriously think about a vacation. I just asked Liz if she wanted to go on a vacation and she said "I'll think about it". ROTFL!! I guess that's better than a no, right?
I was scared to get mine, too, but it went really easily and well! I was so relieved.
Yes I just need to go do it! It's probably not as crazy busy now.
I was so scared that my license was expired for like 11 months by the time I did it but really it turned out so much simpler than I had feared. and I didn't even have an appointment. I did have to wait three or four hours because of that, but I read a book. :D
You had to wait 3-4 hours?! OMG I could not do that. Mostly, because of Liz but also because I'm impatient. lol
at our DMV, if you don't want to wait, you have to make an appointment, and appointments are only available online for a few hours every week and they're usually needing to be scheduled two or three months ahead. So I've yet to manage to make an appointment.
