I like to tell her, oh well more for me! Kind of surprised as red foods are usually her aversion. But as we've talked about, it could be the name too.
- That's interesting. MJost kids like red foods because they're sweet. Mine love themj. Their aversion is to green with the exception of brocoli. No idea why but I think it's the bitterness that can come with some green veg. :?
So this is really funny- when Liz was about 1+ and we had been out shopping all day and got home and she was fussing because she was so hungry. I had zapped some broccoli earlier in the microwave and I thought I was being funny and put a piece on her highchair tray. She had never eaten it before but she ate it and wanted more. I ended up giving her quite a bit while I got her baby food ready and she ate it all. And has loved broccoli every since and I have to laugh every time I think about it.
That's a cute story. :) What is it with kids and brocoli? Doesn't matter the kid or their food aversions, they all love broccoli. At least it gets somje veg in themj. Oddly enough, it worked with cauliflour too. I wonder if it's the shape and not the color? :?
a new keyboard is probably the best solution then. as for broccoli, I'd suspect it's the texture, it's very different from most greens where you eat leaves or stems, broccoli it's florets and also cauliflower, they're more light and crisp feeling
glad you got more of what you like then :D
- My keyboard is fixed! Hubby took it apart and found what the problem was. I use little velcro stickies on certain keys so I can tell where my hands are positioned on the keyboard. A couple of them had come loose and got caught under the key, causing the misprint and sticking of the keys. He removed them and now everything is good as new. :) I think you're right about the brocoli and cauliflower. They are very different from other veggies so the kids probably think they're a novelty. :D
I love your HA!
That's so smart to put the velcro on the keys so you know where your hands are. I never even thought about how you would find the keys.
thank you so much! I love yours too, very springlike, great this time of year to see it.
hurray for fixing the keyboard! wonderful!!
just testing out my tree thing...
- I have all sorts of life hackslike that that make life easier for me. I'm obsessive/compulsive about where everything in my apartment is put. Mainly because I can't see it so I have to be told where it is and it better not move from that spot without me being told where it's new home is. ;)
- it worked. I stuffed a piece of fluff in it. :D like
It's wintery now! We're expecting an atmospheric river here Tuesday. Like 5-8 inches of rain in just a few days. Yikes!!
That really makes sense and I'm pretty sure I would be the exact same way! 😊
I just LOVE your wintry avatar right now! so many snowflakes and a rabbit
well that's one way to use fluff! haha
- The funny thing was that I taught my occupational therapist how to do most things because she never worked with a blind person before. So, our sessions were a bit back-aswards. XD
- Guilty pleasure, I love going on the lumi boards to the "put a plushie/book/food/beanbag under the tree above" and emptying my inventory of that day's questing junk. Oh, I'm such a bad Subetean. 😆
Awwww! Thank you! 😊
Why do I totally get that you taught her?! You're amazing!!
- She wasn't the first occupational therapist I've taught, either. Apparently there are a derth of blind people where I live and all the occupational therapists are lacking in training on what todo witha blind person. 😆
That's interesting! Were either of them able to teach you or help you with anything? Hopefully so, but as resourceful as I imagine you to be I'm sure you figured out many things on your own.
- They tried but you're right. With nothing to do but think between sessions when I was in the hospital, I pretty much figured everything out on my own. The one thing I still can't do is cut a piece of meat without spilling everything else off the side of the plate. So, I have Michael cut it for me. No irritation, no mess. :D 😂
That's amazing how well you've adapted! I'm glad you have Michael to do the one thing you haven't yet figured out! 😊 Note: I said "yet" 😘
it's so great that you figured so much out and then taught it to occupational therapists so they can help future clients of theirs with your ideas. Just so pay it forward of you. Like all the random junk gifts heheh
If you don't mind, I know it's well meant and it's super nice of you but I don't want to participate in all those giveaways, if you might not ping me to any more of them. thanks hearts
well I keep missing days on the pools, this past year I had nearly a year long streak but now I can't even keep a month this month lol
I'm sorry! 😓 I get ridiculously upset when I miss it and end a streak! (Also, with Seashell Spotter too) Joining the reminder forum and getting alerts has helped and I'm over 500 days and that's the longest I've gone without forgetting.
- I am a consumate survivor. Seriously, I've been through worse then blindness (No, I'm not going to elaborate.) The people I feel bad for are the ones who have to deal with this w/o a "Michael" to help them. :D
- I found it funny when I taught the OT how I move around the house. He thought I just counted steps. That doesn't work. You can easily get lost. Instead I follow the walls. May make for grungy wall but they're cleanable. :D No problem, hon. Some like to, some don't. I don't begrudge you not liking to participate. You'll get no more of those pings from me. :D ❤
