I didnt review anything. But I did buy the two practice tests and save the log in info. It's the same questions each time but I can review/attempt the practice test 10x. I want to read over the free practice questions they sent me before I attempt the practice tests I bought. Hopefully doing this will help me retain the info for the real test lol Though it will be differently worded questions it should still be similar that I can answer well.
Sorry that I was barely coming on for most of the Survival event. Just drama going on that's my fault. I'm on spring break so I'm trying to get through it before school comes again.
I hope you enjoyed your little break and this next session of school is starting off well, Kat! That's good that you get multiple tries/practices for such a big test!
Tax returns being reviewed sounds like a plan! I know how important getting the money back is to be able to help, and especially since you just had car trouble I think I had read at one point? Also I LOVE when people help out others at the church because that's the only way I got to go to the Bronx for the missions trip and other trips, because of a kind couple at church.
My church just helped us out in paying for the cleaning that was done on the carpets when a pipe burst.

Hi Beth! School is more important than survival lol (well, subeta survival anyway, YOUR REAL Survival is MORE important than school) I did enjoy my little break. And am now annoyed at my teacher (yes again - I'm beginning to wish I did not have to deal with this individual anymore. Alas, she is my student advisor AND the lead of the ELAD program at the college urgh). As we have a virtual seminar tonight at 7 that I have no idea what it is about or how it will work other than on a zoom meeting. No idea what I need for it or what will happen. Even looking over the information she gave did not help me figure any of it out. Oh well. AND it was short notice. Looking at my original printed info, it WAS listed on that one, but is NOT listed on anything else until yesterday when it showed up in the modules (on next week!) and she sent an email with an "URGENT" reminder and an apology for not sending a notice sooner sigh
[edit] 805pm Well. That was ... weird. And interesting too. Frustrating because we only got like 2 minutes to say "hello" and meet the "students". One of them told me they had to fart. :P Not sure if that was the worst tho, since one of them told another girl that their favorite color was red "like blood" dies laughing she tried to redirect him. NOPE. RED LIKE BLOOD But it is stupid to do such a simulation with such a short amount of time. We really didn't get to do ANYTHING. We have to do it again next week and teach a VERY QUICK (like 5-10 min or LESS) literacy lesson for it. At least we get to count the time (1 hr tonight and 2 next week) towards our hours log
Welcome back, Beth! Good luck working through your current drama. :(
Yes, car trouble. And ughhh. OK SO. We got a new alternator.. and then bought a new battery (both were needed, though. It's fine. :/) BUT there's still something wrong.. but hopefully the battery situation is finally fixed. But urghhhhh.
AND Kat.. speaking of tests. THIS MORNING.. an hour before she sits down for the tests.. my child says to me "Are the SATs hard? Should I have studied or something?"
ARGHHHHH lol
Hi glas! Sorry I poofed again. I only meant to take a quick break before Survival but it ended being a long break instead. I endee up having emergency heart surgery. I had a large pericadial effusion around my heart and they had to drain it surgically. They drained 750 ml of liquid off it (the equivalent of 2 12 ounce cans of soda.) I'm home now and am wrapping up my home health visits from the occupational and physical therapists. The nurse will still visit for a couple of more weeks just to amake sure my incisions close and heal properly. Aside from that nothing spectacular happening. I'm sorry I missed Survival but appreciate all the candy hearts and kisses you gals threw my way. hugs ❤
oh MY goodness!!! I am so glad to hear you are home and recovering. What a rough time that must have been for you and your family!! <3
I just finished my class for tonight and O M G kill me now. I love the lady as a teacher, I really do but I also hate her (off topic a lot, will keep us in class for HOURS (530-9 today!) doesn't answer emails, tells us to text or call her, ugh, but also fun and playful and I do learn a lot from her) :P AND she winds the other people up, so all the others (well a handful of them) get all kookoo during class too. AND she did go into A LOT OF DETAIL on what is expected in this 8 week period for this class and O M G again. HELP!!! It is A LOT of work. A LOT!!! I hope I can get it all done satisfactorily.
Thanks, Kat. It's been a difficult time but I'm finally being discharged from the physical and occupational therapies this coming week. I'm thankful for that because the pt works me like my life depends on being physical fit and I'm usually very sedentary.
Oh, wow, you got one of those teachers, the ones that try to be everyone's friend instead of just teaching. I wish you good luck. You're very good with details so I have faith that you'll pick up on all the little details she'll want in her assignments. Take a deep breathand plunge right in. You'll do fabulous. You always do no matter what you're faced with. :D
Thank you I do try my best. And I know I always feel overwhelmed when class first starts. I am doing great so far tho. I have completed and turned in everything thats due so far, and am trying to work on ideas or activities for the upcoming assignments. I also need to get my butt going on the GACE questions. ARGH. SO MUCH.
Glad to hear you are done with your PT and I can only imagine how tired out you are from it!! Phew. I've been trying to do walking exercise videos - I did really GREAT from christmas til I got sick in Feb and its taking forever to get back into doing it daily. I could NOT do much for like 2 weeks after I was still so exhausted from being sick and then I was just OUT OF the habit of doing it. But I'm doing better. At least every other night now. Hoping to get back to daily. I felt so good right before I got sick, I was about to up my time from 10-15min videos to 20-30 min videos!!
[edit] 555am Stormy all last night. Wonder how many branches are down now. LOTS of wind. I did go do the first part of the GACE. I got 68/80 questions correct. About half of the ones I missed, I debated between two answers, and apparently the 2nd choice was the correct ones LOL I am going to try and do the second part some time today and see how I do on that.
They were all multiple choice questions tho, but the practice questions that were sent with the registration approval (from the college) were all required to have an explanation written in as well - or so it looked like. I hope that is NOT the case on the real test but if it is, I plan to try to study the questions/answers and reasonings given by the practice tests to help me out with that part. THAT is where I will struggle I think. I have no idea how an 80 question test gets scored to have 220+ points but 220 is the minimum passing score and they apparently rate it on how difficult the question is and if you got it correct? And wrong answers are not counted against you? WEIRD. I have to get a 220 or higher on each test to pass. And if I get a 250 or higher on BOTH tests, I am considered having passed at a "professional" level rather than an "introductory" level.
"other than that, nothing big" THAT'S SO BIG LOL. I'm glad you're OK and feeling somewhat better, though! Oh my goodness!
Kat, good luck on your GACE! What a confusing way to grade, though!
Thanks! It is confusing. I can only hope I do well enough. Just got home - spent the afternoon at Shane and Annas house, since they wanted me to come see it and play games. We only played 2 games tho. Eh. She wanted to play her Animal Crossing Monopoly but its got a LOT of pieces and Shane didn't want to and neither did Nathan so we ended up not playing it. I would have played with just her. But oh well.
Anywaaaaay. I am going to log into school, double check I did everything I needed to, and then log into the 2nd practice test for the GACE and see how I do. I only spent 40mins on the last one so I expect this one to take around the same. EDIT: 845 Took about 35-40mins for this one. Got 71/80 correct (and once again, the ones I debated on and were wrong, my OTHER choice was the correct answer LOL At least 2-3 of these that I got wrong tho, I completely just guessed on). GO ME! I think I'll do well if its only multiple choice hahah!!
How was their house?! And ugh I know you like it but I really, really hate Monopoly LOL. I can't think of any other game that makes you feel awful even if you win :P
I think you might just need to play Monopoly with me ;) LOL Maybe then you'll enjoy it. (or maybe monopoly games that have ENDING that isn't someone going bankrupt? Like my Mario monopolies) Honestly for my Mario monopolies and me just in general, I don't even count money to see who wins. We just play til the game is over and thats it. Even with regular Monopoly, unless someone (COUGH COUGH SHANE) is playing and WANTS to know how much money everyone had when the game is over, we don't bother counting.
The house was nice. Two bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Livingroom, large formal dining area, kitchen with a small informal dining area and a small pantry, and a laundry area. The walls were a little weird, for some reason they were textured just like the outside of the house. The house was a mess but I am not surprised by that, they've been in and out constantly and hardly ever home (and by a mess I mean, dog hair everywhere and piles of stuff from moving that haven't been put away properly yet) Decent sized yard. No driveway tho, which is weird to me. Parking on the street or go find the back alley and park on the grass behind the house and have to walk down a hill to get to the back door - so they park in front on the street. Really nice sized porch. They put up a swing on it. So I enjoyed that while he was grilling.
Oh and I'm home today because I got called in for Jury Duty. Reported at 9, got told to sit down. Ugh. Sat there about an hour (hour and half tops), they dismissed a lot of those checking in, told others to come back at 130. Then did roll call for all of us sitting, and then told us the judge said for us to go home and come back at 130. sigh So I go back at 130 and hopefully get dismissed because I do NOT want to do jury duty! :P Sorry, not sorry. Its just not a thing I want to do.
Oh and on review of the questions sent from the college I realized I misunderstood. There were explanations written in, but it was just like the official practice tests - its for explanation of why the multiple choice answer was correct. So I dont THINK I will have to do any writing in for the GACE and only multiple choice questions. So I should do fine. Also I only missed 2 of 32 questions (well 4 because I also didn't answer 2 because I had no clue) on this practice test I got for free.
EDIT 310 pm SARCASTIC Happy Happy Joy Joy I get to go back to the courthouse tomorrow at 9. Nothing beats sitting for an hour and a half and being told to return, TWICE now!
- yeahm, I know, right??? 😆 I habve nothing else. I'm so boring (I love it.) :P How have you been?
- I hate jury duty too. Usually I get dismissed outright though because I can't even see the evidence. 😆 What is a GACE? Do you need to pass for your teaching license? :D
🎉 🎉 🎉 Happy Belated Birthday 🎉 🎉 🎉
The GACE is the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators - and yes :P I have to pass it to get certified to teach. I have to go to a location (that I can sign up for, whichever is closest to me or that i choose), sign into a computer there at a specific time (and it is monitored by a person as well) and take the test. I can find out if I pass/fail almost immediately if the test is all multiple choice (Which I am thinking mine will be) but won't be able to get my actual score for a week or two after the test is completed.
I also had to pass one to become a Paraprofessional as well. That one was more generalized information (such as math, science, etc. Kind of like, did I have a decent high school education type of test) This one is more specific - in regard to it is only for Birth-Kindergarten age groups and pertains more to theories as well as age-appropriate practices.
waves Thank you!
Everybody loving this wonderful March weather? AHAHAHAHAHA
Look forward to this month of weather to be over. :P

Happy belated birthday, ! I hope you had a wonderful day. :) I'm tired of the weather, also. I wish it would make up its mind as to what it wants to actually wants to do. XD
Kat, I didn't realize that you had to take a tesst to get your license. I thought you only had to apply for the license and show that you passed uni and got your diploma. Good luck on them but I think you'll ace them with no problem. :D
Well I do also have to complete the classes at the college (I never really have understood the difference between university and college?) But I also have to pass the GACE. They won't give my certification until I have graduated and passed the GACE. The other students who have taken it said it wasn't very hard and I should do great on it. So did my professor honestly. (Guess they are basing it off of things I've said in class/discussion? Or just how easy THEY felt it was for themselves). But yes. I think I'll do fine. I'll definitely pass, and I hope to pass with "professional" level :D
Class just got over for tonight, our second "virtual simulation" with computerized kids. I had to roll my eyes a few times because some of the others REALLY could not remember the basic rules - ONLY ONE CHILD AT A TIME CAN RESPOND!! "Can you all...." At least if you phrase it "who can say...." they'll raise their hands and you can call on one. So many of them also IGNORED the kids who raised their hands, and just called out random names....or as the instructor pointed out, ignored the kids when they went off topic. I knew she was going to make the class more disruptive, and it was hilarious when the one little "girl" got up and said "oh I'm going to the kitchen now" and walked off screen LOL The girl doing the simulation at that point about died laughing but managed to get her back, with help from the other "students".
During my turn, one of the boys said "Brandon is a butthead, that starts with B" and I did correct him on how we talk nicely to our friends, and he apologized... lol even virtual kids are kookoo
