Aww! I hope her project goes well! I was never a big fan of school 😅 I was too shy.

My husband goes through socks and underwear so fast 😂 He's always getting holes in them. There's a really small iphone? XD I don't like small phones anymore. Remember when small was so cool? Now for me, the bigger the better 😂 I know right? It's wild how long I've had this phone and it still works like a charm 😂 I may upgrade to a new one after the new year though. There's a cute pastel green iphone now and I have a mighty need for it lol

Wow only your 3rd phone ever? :O I wish I could say the same. I've had quite a few phones in my time. But I do typically try to use them at least 3 years or so before getting a new one. This one hits 5 years in May. I can't believe I've had it so long, but it works just fine so why not? XD

- Well, he made a successful game before he turned to writing so he knows how to make something successful. :) Right now I've just finished A Brandon Sanderson that I'm not sure about. It's called "Dark One: Forgotten" and is presented in the form of podcasts. It has an interesting premise, though. It's about a co-ed who finds herself on the trail of a serial killer. To be honest, it wasn't his best work but certainly not his worst. Now, I'm on to George R. R. Martin's "AKnight of the Seven Kingdoms." It's a series of novellas about Duncan, a khedgeknight of the realm. So far, it's classic Martin. :D

- All 3 of my girls went to Uni. My oldest graduated a few years ago and my youngest is about to graduate. None of my boys have any interest in education. XD Where'd I go wrong? 😂

LOLLL! I'd be like your boys then 😂 I ended up not going to college at all. I don't know why I just never really had any passions. And didn't want to waste money on schooling when I had no clue what I would like to do. Turns out I just wanted to be a stay at home mom 😂

How do they last that long??? 😳 Mine go dead so quickly once they are 2 years old. I do spend a lot of time on mine too so going dead fast sometimes isn't good. Hub's phone is about 5 years old and he can barely do anything on it. The problem maybe not the phone though... lol

Liz's phone is an iPhone SE and it's her 3rd small one. She likes them small as they fit in small purses better. On the other hand my phone is huge and I'm like you and like a bigger phone. Plus, I love the Samsung phones that come with a stylus as it makes using it so much easier.

The migraines are brutal. I hope my neurologist calls me tomorrow.

She needs to get that fancy flip phone, do you know the one I'm talking about? I can't remember which brand did it but it was a touch screen but also a flip phone. It was wild lol I think I have an iphone Xs. So I'm definitely due for a new one 😂

Oh yes! I've seen the flip phone and I should show it to her. But then I might have to buy it for her. LOL! Since she only wants a small one and Apple didn't release a new one I escaped buying her one this year. But I'm guessing next fall they will release a new one. And at least the iPhones aren't stupid expensive like the Samsung ones I like are. I so dread needing a new one. Mine are 3 times the price of Liz's. Ugh!!

I don't know for sure why they last a long time for me. Part of it could be that I don't use the phone all that much, and part of it may be that I researched brands that had a reputation for long life rather than popularity (my first one was Nokia brand, my 2nd and also my current 3rd one were/are Motorola brand).

Looking at my purchase history it appears as if I got my current phone in 2020 and the one before it in 2014. So the first phone went 10 years (it didn't have many features, and I used it least of all). Second lasted 6 years (and it still works, but it's not got enough memory to run very many apps, I can play a game or two on it and it's my backup authenticator device too).

I think Samsung brand phones have underpowered batteries compared to their processor power draw, so the battery stops holding a useful charge much sooner. My phone has a more power-conservation focused processor, which keeps its battery fresher. I try to charge it only when it's below 15%.

is the setting of the Martin novel the same setting as the Song of Ice and Fire series?

if it's a good one that's long lasting just keep it as long as you can! why spend the extra money if you don't need to?

Very interesting and I truly believe everything you just said! I know that I charge mine more than I should and I've often wondered if that was part of the short battery life. But I'm always so afraid our power will go out. LOL! I love my current phone and I should try to not charge as often. Not to mention the price of a new one...

if you're concerned about power outages, you could get a solar charger or a backup battery charger (things that you can use to charge your phone if the power is out).

I have 3 back up battery chargers. 😂 And I should trust them more! I checked out the solar chargers as I didn't know about those. Need to do a little more research and I might buy one. :-)

I heard about the iPhone 15 being released but it's not the same size. She has a ton of cute phone cases and she and I both dread changing phone size. :-D Granted most of her favs came from the dollar store - and they all have matching pop sockets. 😝

LOL! Yeah she will probably end up needing new cases if she were to get a new phone 😅 I have a waterfall case and pop socket 😂 Has she seen those ones yet? They have the moving glitter in them, they are so pretty!

Been a tough little bit here. And remember me mentioning the pegs on my violin might be a problem? Yeah well they are. I had a fight with it yesterday, and it totally won. It would cost $130 for a new peg box set up which is what they recommend since the peg box is not in correctly. but We don't have that. Plus not really sure it's worth putting that money into it. So Mum had me call the store and we asked about their rental program. The first year is 100% money back in shop credit. Which is great because you basically get to try the instrument and see how everything goes. And the money you pay can go to buying the rental instrument or anything else in the store--even if it's a viola or cello or a bunch of strings and it's $22 a month, plus tax. $5 extra if you want 100% replacement should anything from cat, dropping or running over it with you vehicle, which they don't recommend :). Anyway so Dad and I and Melody drove up to Atlanta today and set up a year rental. Mum opted for the $5 extra insurance since we dont own it and all. I had them swap the rental's strings for the one i own. He said he did some research and the strings the rental had should have little to no nickel so it would help me if I want to use the old violin. He also took the chin rest off and instead of swapping the Warner I have one the old violin, (which is the no metal exposed one) he just put a Warner on for me. So I can now play both instruments without too much worry. He also replaced the broke E string at no additional cost. This saved us $40 together. So pretty pleased about that.

I didn't test her out when I was there, He said the one he was setting me up with was an excellent one that was just turned in today. it really is lovely. It was a long two hour trip home but after we finally got home and put stuff away, I did try her out and OMW does she sing! There's a large difference in her sound. I love it!!! So whilst I know we really could use not to have to spend the extra money, I am grateful and I got a lovely sounding violin :D
