HI everyone! Sorry I've been MIA! I've been really enjoying having time to myself since classes stopped! There's lots to catch up on that went by the wayside, some diy stuff and lots of gardening and deep cleaning! haha, not the most fun stuff but nice to have time to do! Also, I really love watching wimbledon and that has kept me busy the last couple of weeks!
The gourmand/feeding is sooo expensive! I've got 28 foods left to go (some unbuyable) but still am trailing well behind , who must only have about 5 items to go?! I think I got lucky because I started that quite early on and had a lot of stuff in my vault and wardrobe!
Oh no, Kat! Hope the mower gets fixed! I can't imagine having that much grass to manage! In the UK we have pretty small gardens usually. The million pound houses tend to have large grounds, but not us regular people!!
Sounds like things are going well at school, Kat! Good work! Hope you're having fun!

HI cazzie!!! Hah no cleaning is not the most fun stuff, but it does need doing. Thanks :) About my CPK dolls lol It is a line of cuteness. Makes me smile when I walk in to get clothes or put something away. I never did it before since it was hubby's closet too and I know he didn't care to have them all on display (he would not have really minded, but it wasn't something he wanted to see all the time either, so I was nice and didn't display but a few of them) Now he's not here, so I have all my dolls out.
I can't imagine having a tiny yard - or garden as ya'll call it. The places that build around here where people live on 1/4 or 1/2 acre seem so close in together and crowded and squished. I would live there if I had to, but I much prefer my space. Even if it does mean a large yard to take care of. (I have just over 1acre of land).
Oh you are close! Is that your all time food to feed numbers, or just for the gourmand achievement? I've gotten the achievement a while ago, I just keep feeding my pet anyway lol But yes, it has gotten VERY expensive. I wishlisted all the food they'd not eaten to find/get the cheaper foods to get the gourmand achievement. Then just slowly keep buying some and feeding him, now that I've hit all the tiers, and what is left is SOOO expensive.
[edit] 235pm Hmm So I went and did the forum discussion best as I could. Still no email from teacher. I KNOW he's been online; he posted an announcement. Whatever. Frustrating. I noticed my grade changed in my speech class. I had a 95 yesterday after finishing the exam. The exam was updated - yesterday it said I had gotten 433/473 points for the exam. TODAY - it says I got 92/100 points for the exam. And my grade in the class went up to a 98? Ok whatever. LOL Its all good to me! NOTHING else has been graded tho, otherwise. Just that exam change. Will check in tomorrow to see if anything shows a grade, and if not, well whatever. I hate when I don't know my final grade before I can't log in anymore. After Wednesday I won't be able to log into those classes to see my grades. And I'll have to wait until it updates on banner web.
[edit] July 19 230pm Well. Still waiting on final grade for speech and one ECCE class. The one that I thought I had missed a few points in, that I had excess points in, well I actually have a 100 in that class, no missed points> Guess I remembered wrong. However I still have the excess points so I dunno about that part yet LOL All assignments graded there tho. Still waiting on final assignment in ECCE class, and on persuasive speech. Took my speech book back to school today for trade in, only got $15 cuz there is a new edition out but that is better than nothing! (and actually, a plus for me since I didn't pay for it in the first place due to that extra $ the financial aid lady gave me!!)
Gathered all pertinent income reduction information that was required by SCTC in order to hopefully give/talk to someone in Financial Aid tomorrow at Mercer at orientation. So that is ready to go (even wrote out a new note in regard to the situation of separation)
Vacuumed the hallway, but not the LR yet. Got some crap to take to the dump and its closed today, so figured I'd wait to vaccum til I took that off tomorrow. (Its covered in dust/dirt/insulation and there is insulation on the floor by the hallway from the attic).
Shane will be home again tonight, he left early this morning. Apparently this is what he'll be doing for the next few days at least. Nathan is supposed to come home Saturday.
ANNNND i feel like I am talking to myself again, but thats ok :P I hope all of you out there in stalker land enjoy my rambles.
Oh yes, what else did I want to say? Oh about Nathan. Seems the kid for some reason thinks he can do Joshua's Law (30hr online course) and 40 hours of driving in less than one week before school starts, while I AM AT WORK. What is this kid thinking? He asked me yesterday when we would be able to go to the DMV and do his driver's license test. Umm kid. After you do Joshuas Law, after you do 40 hours of driving, after you PRACTICE for the written and driving skills road test!!! I told him it was not likely that he would get his drivers license before school started. But we would do it asap if he worked on those things. $40 for a parking permit, plus I will have to change the insurance when he DOES pass the tests. Thankfully Ryan agreed to paying for his insurance.
[edit] 620am OMG So yesterday the power company came out and put a security light on the power pole between my house and my new neighbor.....it is VERY BRIGHT. So bright I no longer need outdoor porch lights. I guess I will enjoy that on early dark mornings going to work, but last night it was a freaking pain, I kept thinking it was earlier than it was due to the light LOL And then I worried if it would keep Belle up when I put her outside at night, she used to bark when the neighbors left their porch lights on (she did to us too but we got in the habit fast of turning ours off.) I think she equates lights on as someone awake who can come be with her or bring her back inside, so she barks. I luckily did not hear a lot of barking last night, some whining at first, so maybe it won't be so bad. We will see as time goes on.

Anyway. Orientation went fine. I found out how to submit my forms for financial aid and now just need to do it. Was told I do NOT need Spanish OR a third English, that the computer class I took last summer qualified for that slot EYEROLL GREAT. Ok. So, they suggested I take Creative Arts for kids, ECCE class. So I've been trying to get confirmation if I can take that or if it's one of those stupid TCC classes that I can't take unless I get a TCC, but I guess the director was confused by my question, because most of his return comment was over "I didn't tell you to take Spanish" - no you didn't, it's just the class I was told to switch out with the ECCE class dude. seriously. (This director is the same teacher who NEVER responded to TWO emails requesting clarification of an assignment this past class) IF I can switch out that class (ugh, again!! so tired of needing to change my classes, but this is for the better) I will have spring semester of classes at Mercer...then become a Junior, at which point I can only take fall & spring classes, no more summer classes (fine, whatever), but my senior year can (depending on my school system) possibly be ME WORKING AT MY JOB (while doing some classwork) AS THE LEAD TEACHER!! Excited and nervous to be going forward with that, even if it doesn't start until January, because I know this fall semester and the classes I am taking is putting me closer to that goal. Also excited and nervous about finishing up at SCTC. Like, ok I wanted to do this, but its still like, I'm almost done and I won't be going there anymore ? WHAT? I am settled into how they work now, so going to Mercer will make me nervous until I get used to how they operate.
AND ACK! I start back to work MONDAY! Right into stupid "education celebration" - meaning we go to school, turn around and get on a bus, go to a church, and listen to people talk talk talk. YAAAY CELEBRATE school is starting again. Its sometimes fun, sometimes boring. Best thing is after we usually go to DQ and get a treat, school pays. Nice eh? Just our school that does that, that I am aware of. (Maybe other schools treat their teachers a different way? No idea. Maybe not at all!). Anyway. Then we have that afternoon and one other day to get the room ready for open house (WHY do they not give us MORE time for that?) Then a day of district wide PL and then a day of school wide PL (thankfully school wide usually means we don't have to do it, except for the faculty meeting in the morning) so t hat gives a small amount of time to finish getting the room ready.
Katie drew me some astronauts, aliens and spaceships that I and the other para are going to trace onto colored butcher paper and use to decorate the door/bulletin boards. That is our first goal. Then comes room arrangement and putting up nametags, etc. Fun! :P Nametags may not be up until after open house depending on how things go.
[edit] 630am Jan 23 CRAP! I didn't go to the bathhouse yesterday. Just lost my over 250 day streak. I was so close to beating my last record cries

That school stuff sounds so stressful! I can't believe they changed stuff on you AGAIN.. but I guess it's a great thing that you went!
Argh, at Nathan :P For El though, I finally did just schedule their drivers test.. so now they need to get a LOT of driving in in the next few weeks!
Sorry to just disappear on you, kat! We did have a great time at Hershey though, and the campground was nice! Glad we had a cabin with the AC though, but it would have been nicer if it had a bathroom, too :P
Here you have to have a parent verify they did the 40hrs of driving before you take the test. And have a certificate from Joshua's law or driver's Ed if you are under 18. Really that's just a form the parent signs when you go in for the test stating you did it lol. Like anyone could totally just lie about it. But I won't. I want him to have that drive time experience. So I feel comfortable knowing he knows what to do. And I think I'll still freak out for a while when he drives on his own eventually partly because he is my baby and partly because I just do that lol I did it with Katie and Shane too. Worry and stress when they left on their own to go somewhere
I asked my brother how much time they spent driving so I could count that as part of his 40hrs. So he needs between 20-25 more hours.
Oh yeah, here too. Except for the 40 hour thing, since they're over 18 now, but uh.. they still need it. So what, three? weeks to get in say, 25 more hours. It'll be fineeee! :P
But here, it was August 18th, or NOVEMBER,, I don't remember when, sometime in the middle. And that's during class time! It's so stupid, I don't understand PennDOT.
Yea I'll have to see when hey have appointments for the test but I dont remember it taking too long to get Katie one.. Plus there is like 2 or 3 nearby we can go to not just the one in our own city
Yeah, it's just crazy haha. They're only open on Fridays, which is just. Insane :P Like.. why?! And they close at 3.

I need to take Nathan up there this week one day after work and renew his learner's permit. I think Katie had to renew her learners in order to get her drivers (of course, hers was expired, his is not, not quite yet), plus he needs it while he practices driving anyway :P He should be able to take the test any time once he is ready as he's had the learners 2yrs now almost.
[edit] Ok so. Documents scanned and emailed in for financial aid adjustment at Mercer. Email received from Dr. Peas (director of ECCE at SCTC). I can sign up for the class. However, it won't let me do it on my own sigh Guess I get to go into the CAP center tomorrow and get them to do it. Debating if I should bother the poor woman in charge of my program again to VERIFY this class, but she's said YES every other time I've asked her about classes, so I am sure this one would be yes too :P Its just annoying that I can't sign up for it on my own because it isn't LISTED as a class I can take for my major. (Thats why I can't sign up for it - it says "major restriction" ugh)
Guess how ridiculous this director is? HE CANNOT EVEN TYPE HIS OWN NAME CORRECTLY!!!! either that or autocorrect screwed him hahahaha he signed the email Dr Piece :P
The biggest downside to changing to that class is that it is an in-person class. Luckily, they have an evening class - so Thursdays from 530-830 or something like that I will have to be in McDonough. Yay. Traffic on the way there every day - I will have to learn the back road and see if its less traffic. I know going straight up towards/past the freeway on the main road is horrid traffic by the freeway every day at that time.
Yeah, they're only open for tests (including the written ones) on Fridays, and they're open Saturdays from 10-12 for photo things. Very annoying.

It'll be interesting enough It's creative activities for children (Or creative arts) Introduces the concepts related to creativity in music, art, movement, and drama across the curriculum. Theories of creative development, facilitation of children's creative development, appreciation of children's art processes, etc.
No I don't have to get on the freeway, I have to go past a very busy on/off ramp 😝 at go home time lol Traffic backs up over several miles the direction I'd be going, due to the three or four (or more?) Red lights coming up to that area plus all the big rig warehouses and stuff along that stretch
Does your DMV do everything else online then? Like renewals and all that? Or do you have to go somewhere else, or are they open for that stuff but not driving tests other days?? So weird

Awww yes, sheesh. Times flies, eh? It's when you see stuff like that - that makes you realize how much time has gone by. I had no idea we'd known each other that long, tho I guess I should have since I clearly remember Iz being born LOL
Honestly one thing I've noticed with a LOT of my ECCE classes, is that a LOT of it is repetitive. When it talks about theories, I know it's going to talk about almost all of the same people I learned about in my PSYCH class, or in my first ECCE class. Which I guess is good, since I have that knowledge and can focus on learning other things lol
I woke up at 515 this morning but refused to get out of bed til after 6. Then I got my shower, now I'm ready for work. Just need to put my shoes on and I was debating making a smoothie for breakfast to go with my granola bar since I still have a lot of frozen fruit ;)
[edit] 450 ugh. I hate walmart in the afternoon. I did get in and out quickly but its sooooo crowded. Boys wanted chili for dinner, so I had to stop and buy the stuff. I only have meat :P lol
Also I stopped by SCTC and got my class changed, got told I needed to fill out a graduation form, and didn't really get an answer on if I can just buy a tassel since I don't want to do graduation. They were all like, well you might change your mind, its not until May. I'm like NO I won't change my mind. Its my son's senior year of high school. I am focusing on HIM for graduation and am not going to spend $ on me, it'll be spent on HIM. Not to mention I am not about to try and do a graduation for me at practically the same time as for him. No thank you. Too much! Also besides which, if I was going to do a graduation for me, I'd do it after I finished Mercer instead, the whole shebang instead of just part of it. Not that an associate is nothing, but the bachelors is bigger? If you know what I mean? More to celebrate? I don't think I'm going to do it then either, but I want a tassel then too. THAT might be the one I change my mind on tho.
I mean, an associates is still a big deal! But I get you on not wanting to do a big graduation thing, especially with nathan! But YOU should definitely celebrate YOU somehow, too! Like.. it's not nothing, you've worked so hard!
Yeah, 14 years is insane! Lily was like.. 1.5 haha. Nathan was a toddler too, I remember!

I'm trying to get him to give me info on what he wants to do for his birthday. Its only a week away :o He'll be 17. Crazy. So far he wants a $40 video game, a german chocolate cake, and to celebrate his birthday the weekend after (since its a school day). And he said number candles is fine. So now I need to find out if he plans to invite any friends to come over, and if he wants ice cream to go with the cake (sometimes he does, sometimes not).
[edit] 620am I have an awful headache already. I fell asleep around 945, woke up at 215. Could NOT go back to sleep. Tried reading, didn't work (usually that make me sleepy at night). Going to be an awful day - feeling as I do. Today I have PL - have to go in person, not online this time, that's fine by me. But having PL today after not sleeping is going to make me feel that much worse as its more stressful to go out for PL than to just piddle around in the classroom doing what needs to be done there. On the bright side, we got a LOT done yesterday. The door/bulletin boards are decorated (well mine still needs little alien spacecraft w/ kids names put on it, my teacher was going to print them at home last night). The furniture is arranged, so we've been working on putting things back on the shelves and whatnot. Still have one huge storage box thing to figure out where to put because it is NOT going to stay where she put it, that's too crowded into my space. She has no idea where to put it tho sigh Get rid of it then would be fine by me. :P So a little more of putting things away on shelves & whatnot and then I'll have to stock up the art center, the writing center, and make sure there is paper/pencils in all centers (stupid requirement, kids then write on the baby dolls, blocks and the floor instead of the paper provided but what can you do?)

Thats the other PreK bulletin board - as I said, our alien spacecraft isn't printed yet, but ours will look more or less like that. Same words, same background, same alien spacecraft but w/ our kids names

Iz and I dropped Lily off for IMPACT this morning. Honestly, I'm kind of sad to not be spending that time in a tent with her.. but also, it'll be nice to have a 5 day Lily break :P She'll be back Sunday around lunchtime, probably!
AND I'm so glad to not be going, it's honestly awful haha. It's just so hot, there's no shade, you're just camping in a giant field and walking 3/4 of a mile four or five times a day, there and back.. AND there's a train that goes by every 42 minutes, blaring it's horn. All day AND all night! And no electricity!
What is Lily doing?? Camp of some sort obviously lol (What is IMPACT?) Yep. IF Nathan graduates on time he'll be 17 then turn 18 later. Like I did 😉 Totally forgot we had parent orientation tonight. So not going home until 7. No point in wasting my gas to just come back in an hour and a half to get ready. (starts at 6, so ok maybe more like 2hrs). Not when I can just stay and keep working on stuff in the room. And tomorrow is open house so I don't come into work until 11 am.

We only had 7 of 20 parents come to the orientation. The other class had 11 come. IT was nice seeing the ones that came :) I even gave one set of parents a quick walk around tour of the school after it was over, because they asked if they could walk around, and since not many people were left, I didn't feel right just letting them wander, so I walked them around and told them where stuff was located. I'm so excited because we have like 4 little siblings!! :D I LOVE getting siblings! So we had this kid back when covid hit and omg he was a darling, and we have his little sister this year. She used to get on the phone with him (that first march-may when we did phone calls/video calls cuz no one knew what was going on lol)...and she was like a year old and wanted to participate with everything he did it was so cute. His mama said HE was so excited that we got his sister!! LOL <3 She said he told his sister "That was MY teachers, and they are sooo sweet" I just melted <3 Then we have two little brothers of two boys we had last year. And a little sister of a boy we had last year!
And a lot of these names this year are VERY interesting :P There is always a few. I thought we had two Lainey's, but one is spelled Lanie and its evidently said "Lah-nie", so that's good not two Lainey's after all, But we do have two Riley's - At least they are a little different as the one goes by/is actually Rileygh-Moon. (Neveah Rileygh-Moon - it's a very pretty name, just unusual!) So we can tell which we are talking to :P We also have a Kailynn (We thought it might be said Kay-Lynn but it's said Kai-Lynn). We have a Santanna, and a Kyrie and they are both boys, I thought they would be girls, but no...Oh and we have an Octavious and a Princeton. We have Ajournie too :) And a Coraline. That is not one I've ever seen before! I wonder if its Cora-line or Cora-lynn :) We have Paxten and Layton (both boys). Like I said, an interesting group of names!! (11 girls and 9 boys this year-I am psyched they reduced the class by 2!!!) Next door has a Priest.

Yes. Evidently Priest and Princeton are identical twins and mom requested they be placed in separate rooms, they "feed off each other" And thank goodness, we found out it is spelled Ryleigh-Moon. Which makes way more sense. And it is Cora-line 😉 Lanie did NOT want to leave the classroom, her mom had to carry her out crying when mom had finally had enough of her staying to play lol Kyrie hid behind his mom when he first came in, but quickly warmed up and ran off to play - insisted on coming back and telling us goodbye after they went to brothers classroom <3 All of them seemed really sweet. A few showed some wanderlust/activeness or spunk/sass lol
