I also would rather see a reduction in the items going out from quests, rather than them asking for more. I don't do every quest every day, but for many of them it just feels like trading junk items for more junk items. Blue Building? I don't need those items, just the points. Library quests? The idea sounds good (and usually is), trading a low-rarity book for a higher-rarity item - but a lot of times it feels like those items will just sit unwanted in my shop until I or someone else need them for a Saggi quest. Mori/Nori quests? Cinthia's? Again, just feels like trading junk for junk and some sP.
Battle quests? Again, the original idea came from a good place - a way for beginning battlers to earn weapons they could use instead of buying them - but if you've got a pet that can get past the first few quests, you've got a pet that's outgrown those weapons. With the battle quests I'd recommend them just giving out consumable items like the dark elemental potions, if they must give out items at all. (Personally I don't think they need to, but I seem to remember a big fuss back when Battle Quests first came out. People thought they were a waste of time because they didn't give out sP or items. Other players pointed out that you got a LOT of exp for your pet that you could then turn into stat points - meaning they weren't a waste at all - but sadly those players ultimately got drowned out by the "but we want THINGS" crowd. And here we are years later trying to get rid of crap, lol)
All this to say, I don't think there needs to be any major changes to the quests, but it's probably time to tweak some of them a little so that they gave out less stuff. The way they work now probably worked better years ago, when there were a lot more players on the site daily. But with a smaller crowd, it's just turned into item glut that doesn't circulate.
I really like the idea of letting the Recycle Beast just take any item, but only for like, short periods of time. Could even turn it into a little mini event, a Subeta Spring Clean or something, that lasts about a week. Could do it every season change, or whatever works. (I think having that as an option year-round, all the time is a bit too drastic.)
Also agree with those saying the shops should stock less. Although I'd take my opinion on this with a mountain of salt because I am not a great restocker or anything. But I have camped out in a few stores where there will be as many as 11 of an item, which seems way too high to me. 5, maybe 7 at most seems more like it...though I will readily admit that number needs to be based on actual data and not just pulled out of my ass on my feelings.
If the idea of these timers is to stop people buying items and straining the databases then why would quests asking for extra items improve this? It would be encouraging people to buy more items. Although on a smaller scale, it's not that difference from people buying items up to frag.
So the Blue Building currently gives 20 points and 2 items per quest. It used to give 40 points and no items. I'm sure there was a reason for this change (does anyone remember why?) but I do wonder if it might not be a better idea to change it back and maybe just increase the price on BB prizes.
SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸I restock frequently, actually - mostly in Spells Galore but I've poked around in the collection shops as well but I think I know enough to say something about it.
Unless somebody feels like going a fragging spree (because most of the items are cheap enough to be worth clearing out the store for fragging), 90% of the items in Spells Galore just sit there. There's also a couple of items that unless you have the 15% and 30% discounts, you lose out, but for the most part, nearly everything in this shop is profitable if you can actually sell it. I feel like if that stack sizes were smaller or if the shops cleared more often, things could move in this shop. The only reason a lot of things don't sell in user shops is because usually cheaper to get it from the main store and usually a good amount in there.
The collections shops, especially plushies and beanbags, there's a of items that either less than the user shop (unless you stack discounts and even then, maybe you would make 300-500sP if you're lucky but sometimes, I still lose some sP or just break even) or there's just too much in stock so they never really leave the shop. These are not shops people go to for fragging because Spells Galore and the Philosopher's Store exists. There's also a lot of unique items, so it's a giant wall of plushies and beanbags whenever you go in there. It's intimidating to learn how to restock in these stores and it's hard to watch for items that can net you the big wins.
All shops could benefit from more regular clearings - maybe put them on an 8hr timer or something so we get three clearings a day. However, I'm not really sure what else to do in terms of something like plushies and beanbags that just have so many things could restock in there. Even if we only had one of everything, that's a lot of items still. Maybe some retirements would help out in this case?
Absolutely dispose of the free items from BQs. They're not needed imo. And definitely retire more items.

Yes, Blue Building gave more points and no items, BQ's gave sP instead of items. Main Shops are a mess with by far too many of each item available. Restocks leave said items sitting there instead of exchanging them, even lower Rares pile up and are not bought (while others pop up like only once a year). I agree with everything said.
What if also capping the max amount of a single item someone can have. Look at the Free Beer in usershops. 100k+ in a single shop available to buy? Nix that. The only exception obviously needs to be with currencies, which ignore this cap. I don't know what effects this would have, so maybe cap it at 1000 to see first?
(also this is a random idea, but instead of boring items BQs drop, get rid of those, reward EXP but also have a rare chance to give a stat booster as a prize. Would be an incentive for people to do their BQs, and is an actually useful reward for training your pet)

I made this topic in the Suggestions Forum. I thought players could suggest items which they don't think would be missed.
I love this idea. The current items are just junk or frag fodder. Also even if staff wants to eliminate items entirely from BQs (or not make them profitable because boosters could also be sold), there could also be a rare chance of having a random stat on the pet increased by +1?
SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸Ooh yes, a random stat increase would also be nice.

RANDOM (like Quentin's amulets) for BQ drops instead of (now) junk weapons (probably starting/scaling by level?): Pylonics, Boosters, Stat increase, may be special books?
Just stopping throwing out like mad and thus the complete devaluation of items, which - I guess - were retired for a reason back in the old days...
Smaller stacks of item stocks in the main shops, also again taking into account rarities. I believe, that it may not have been taken into account, that we unfortunately now have less players than before.
Question: Do CWs count towards clogging? Do pet TCs count towards clogging? Because there was mention of making pet TCs unlimited space, which....doesn't that just encourage hoarding??

On 07/21/20 Keith told us that the shop problems would be solved with Upcoming: Rarity Squish. This project has obviously been put back now.
In post dated 09/22/22 in this topic he said
Until Keith has the time to sort something like the above out, why not just tweak the main shop restock rate? It's been done in the past.
I hate and like this.... I have to wait 3-4 times when I do my quest since I do them the faster I can... and sometimes I can buy 2 to 3 items in restock before being able to get 7 more items... It's not only 1 times doing it but every time...
Oh right. Wasn't something going to change about this? It's been like week and nothing has changed or been said about it....
Yeah, I’m not understanding why nothing has changed because it’s very clearly unpopular and is effecting most users game play negatively. Doing quests, buying currency, buying for gourmet/book/battle pets, buying for collections, etc is now an absolute chore and people have listed some great alternative suggestions in this thread.
SELL ME FOOD PLS? 🡺 CLICK HERE 🡸I made this topic - Retire Some Items From The Main Shops
I asked players to suggest items so that staff didn't retire items that people still wanted. This would be better than retiring stuff by age as happened in the past.
EDIT - Amber replied to that topic.
Okay, come on, I thought it was promised this was going to change? I don't know how long it'd take to change it (or just remove it, pls), but since it was implemented fairy quickly, it can't take that long to change a few numbers around... Morostide is over. It's been three weeks since the promise was made. Everyone hates this. What's the hold up? :x
I'm not seeing a staff post that says it will be changed? I mean I hope it is, and maybe I'm just too tired to pay attention.
I am also annoyed bc this keeps popping up. I'm playing normally, leave me be :(
On page 5, Galazia said ' However, he is going to tweak the settings on the timer a bit and we hope that can improve the user experience.'
'He is going to' sounds to me like he will be doing that. :x
