Congrats on finding your half-sister, hopefully she can fill in some medical info for your mother's side of the family. It's not a water heater, that I replaced last year and it is gas. This is a heat pump system that uses your electricity inside and the wind outside. Four other units here now have upgraded to them, to me its equal to replacing your furnace in that it is my source of your heat. A heat pump's refrigeration system consists of a compressor and two copper or aluminum coils (one indoors and one outside), which have aluminum fins to aid heat transfer. In heating mode, liquid refrigerant in the outside coil removes heat from the air and evaporates into a gas. This system cools in the summer and heats in the winter and is said to deal better with humidity than central air.

more of use as the landlord keeps record of complains and he has loads. Sadly they just can't trow him out, procedures, etc. But as long as we send in stuff he does they have proof. I am now waithing for them to let me know what stepps there will be taken, but it can take a while as they all have to agree with the plan (landlord, police, etc).

I can understand it's weird to have a sister from your moms side and they don't have the answers. I hope one day you will know.

The only one with my mom at the time was one of her younger sisters. I have no idea what she knew of the situation, if anything. So, I'm not going to bother with that right now. My sister had nothing to do with it so I'm just going to enjoy having a sister and get to know her. Perhaps we'll meet. She lives a lot closer than my dad does. We'll see how things work out. :D

Nighshift here. Last night my 1st in ages since i went back to health care. Sadly it was drama, all systems went down, phone, calling ssytem for the clients, internet, computers, the works. We called everybody and finally called the big boss to help out as no one was helping. At 5:30am we had internet and at aroudn the time i left 7:20am most systems where working again.

Me and my co-worker found a new job as technical support and fixing things via help via facetime lol!

1 more night to go, had harly any sleep, people at the door, hungry cats and noisy neighbours...

Just watch your back, has to be difficult working nights with all the daytime noise. Good for you being tech support, nothing beats flexibility on the job. Well, the agency that is going to install my free air heat pump system is not letting any grass grow under their feet. Their plumber called me yesterday asking if I would be home that day and I said yes. He came in the afternoon and I took him out back of the house to see the other four installed units to make it easier to evaluate the work area. I think I know where the outside unit will go, he wants to put 3 heating/cooling units inside. He did ask to see my circuit breaker panel and was happy to see it still had room. At that point I ask him to tell me if my shower head was loosening and the next thing I knew he was standing in my tub and I was dashing to the next room for a wrench. Am glad I told him that I was afraid of it coming off and I guess I was right as he tightened it up for me just took him five minutes. Terrific people! Would have called my friend that has been my plumber for decades but he has retired and had open heart surgery so I didn't want to bother him. Just didn't know who to call for reasonable fees. Today I mailed in the authorization agreement form so that the work can go forward.

- Isn't it lovely how you find out how noisy your building really is when you work night shift. lol It seems so quiet at other times. ;) Keep pressing your landlord. If you stop, he may think things are ok and not move forward. That guy needs help, however you look at it. Something just is not right. Yeah, it is sad but I knew going in that that was possible considering how old I am. One of her sisters lived with her when I was born. She's still alive so I may get some info fron her. Either way, I'm ok with it, especially since I didn't think I'd ever know anything. Right now I'm debating on whether or not to tell my dad what's happened. I don't know how he'll react. :)

It's not direct service from the government. I use an agency that the government works with and a few years ago turned it down because the condo assoc previously had a policy of nothing goes on the outside of the building so of course I never questioned it - now there are four of these units installed already that other owners paid for themselves! Yesterday the postal delivery picked up my authorization agreement form so once they have that work can go forward

I was a little under the weather for a few days due to my period. Finally started feeling better today :)

That is my one prayer, that the work goes smoothly for all involved. What kind of construction? That is horrible, drinking water should always be available. Hate to ask this but is this construction at all weather related. I'm lucky that all I need is a new heat pump system, already having electric heat.
