Your daughter sounds adorable! I love that she's a bossy 6 year old. :-D You're probably right about diagnosis back then. My brother is a senior citizen and was only recently diagnosed. His son, my nephew, got the diagnosis in his 20's. My daughter's original diagnosis was Sensory Integration disorder which is a brain to body disconnect. It affects her fine motor skills and mostly shows up in her speech. In 6th grade a teacher hinted at her being ADHD as well. After we did all of the tests the doctor suggested meds and I immediately said NO WAY. Then the nurse, not the doctor, but the nurse, whom I highly regarded, pulled me aside and said you could try it and if you don't like it then don't keep giving them to her. I did some deep soul searching and finally decided to give it a try. After about the 3rd day something clicked in my daughter's brain and she was looking me in the eyes and then said, "you're old", which I was, ( 😂 ) She had never really looked at me or noticed my appearance before. ( I had her at 40) I knew in that moment it was more beneficial for her to stay on them. It did take a bit of trying different types to find the one that seemed optimal for her. So weird how things turn out.. And yes she is a bit of a zombie until about noon, but she works in the am so it is helpful for her. So anyway, it's not something I readily share but thought you might be interested in our story. :-)

It's funny how that happens with HA's I'll make up a bunch and go back and I'm like no. And then suddenly the items will all work well together. I looked at the HA items and it's the dress and backdrop/forground items that do work so well together. :-) Both CW's, of course. lol

Maybe they will freak out - I was mostly on the far side of my island and my villagers don't wander over there very often. lol Week-end going great and plenty of me time. I should be doing more cleaning though. :-P How's your week-end going? And how's the lil bebes?

haha! Yeah it would be a mama/daddy only switch cause I know my hubs would like to play sometimes without our daughter telling him what to do? LOL XD But I wasn't playing much at the time that she took over so I'm not in a super rush for it lol XD Maybe one day :)

haha she is adorable but she DEFINITELY is the Boss Baby (that's what we call her and her half siblings) LOL She can be quite terrifying at times LOL! Oh yeah! I mean I'm sure later on they knew some kids had something different about them but it seems like the diagnosis for that type of stuff didn't come until kids were adults LOL! But if you compare it to like current times (last 5-10) years it seems like its getting diagnosed at a LOT earlier age! Oh that's interesting on your daughter and the brain to body disconnect! It makes sense cause when we had her in OT/Speech they did these weird things with her fingers/toes to help "connect" things basically in her brain. It was like connecting her to her voice...and it did help a bit back then. Then you know she's just now starting potty training after all this time LOL so there was definitely a brain to body disconnect so that makes sense to me. Mine had big problems with speech for "awhile" but about a year ago when we moved she was getting quite vocal/teaching herself to read (from the Switch mind you LOL) and I knew she was smart and most kids are....just cause they aren't talking doesn't mean they don't understand lol and that totally makes sense! I think the stuff they wanted my son on (who wasn't autistic just more on the ADHD scale) I like looked it up and apparently a lot of "boys" who were on that drug got violent and moody and I was like nope nope nope (he was already temperamental haha) And that totally makes sense! I know we were against the one my stepson is on because its got some really horrible side effects/long term problems lol so like its not that we are against stuff just maybe not such hardcore stuff. I'm super glad your daughter found one that clicked for her and that's amazing with the eye contact LOL I can't believe she said you're old LOL! mine's always like singing/in her own world/doesn't really make eye contact unless she comes up for hugs/love and then sometimes she stares in our eyes but otherwise her eyes are no where near us LOL :P Thank you for sharing your story with me <3 your daughter sounds amazing and sounds like she's doing great :D

ROTFL!! I've been saying screw the cleaning for far too long. :-P You can't jump every time she screams. Not sure the exact reason but I know with some people I think their moms must of jumped and babied them way too much. I'm thinking the dad (possibly like my dad) expected the mom to shut the kid up immediately and then the kid grows up to be a butthead. 😂 Did that make any sense? :-D

That's so interesting that you know she's smart. I've long thought my daughter was exceptionally smart too, she just can't seem to figure out how to express it. My daughter is super sweet and honestly more mature than I am. :-D Yes years back I would hear that boys were being given the ADHD meds far too much and possibly just because a teacher couldn't deal with them. And like I mentioned we changed her meds several times (mostly due to insurance) and we got lucky as each one seemed to mesh better with her system. One made her nauseous, another spaced her out way too much and wore off super fast. This is funny, I don't handle caffeine at all and feel the effects of most meds, but years ago I wanted to see how her meds made her feel so I tried it. Gah it was horrible and I couldn't slow down for hours. 😳 But with her it totally relaxes her. That's great OT helped your daughter. And the Switch too. :-) My daughter has had so much OT and PT it's not even funny. I'm lucky she's such a sweet great human. And I love hearing about your daughter and she sounds adorable! Boss Baby is so cute! :-) <3

yeah! I mean just the way she asks or if you ask her questions even when she couldn't talk....you could tell she knew what things were/what colors/numbers/etc she understood us...she just wasn't ready to talk herself lol AND when she got tested for her official autism diagnosis the lady was REALLY impressed with her and said she's really smart....she was like in the 90% compared to other kids and went a lot further on the testing than most kids(so it just reaffirmed what we already knew) LOL And exactly like you said about your daughter...sometimes they just didn't know how to express it and that's awesome! Sweet kids are amazing and LOL! Mine is probably more mature than me and she's only 6 buahaha! Yeah! The horrible part is my stepson is "on" the meds because his teachers recommended it and my hubby and I are like wth....teachers shouldn't be saying ANYTHING to you about medicating your child and you as the mom should just say NO. Like literally he's a bit more hyperactive but its easily corrected by redirecting him (which we did that one summer) so the fact that teachers want them drugged to be easier for them is ridiculous to me (though the mom just doing it because they asked is something else) Like what if he was NEVER on drugs? You'd HAVE to deal with him as he was? lol And learn just like a parent how to redirect him :P so back then they were doing it and they still do it now too. omg you actually tried her pill? LOL! That makes sense that it relaxes her though...I think there's a study with like certain types autism where they say to give them like mountain dew/energy drink whatever because even though it "wakes" us up...it does the opposite and Mellows them out LOL yeah she didn't get as much OT as we wanted (hello Covid lol) but she sure loves her switch :P I'm thinking I might have to do some OT again though because sometimes "little" things like SET her off bad lol so working with OT they might be able to help her process a bit better LOL And thank you! I like hearing about your daughter too :) She sounds really great <3 And yeah mine is an adorable little Boss Baby for sure...I always ask her stepsiblings "Do you think she's a Boss baby?" enthusiastic head shaking YES lol

Her sugar was way too low. WE are hoping this night she'll be able to get stable.

well my pain meds are working as long as I take them twice a day. :) Melody was doing well today and seemed to behave herself. Hope the redo of your island goes well :) House training? She's been potty trained for months.

I know what you meant lol! But she's not a hip baby at all, she's very content as long as she's sitting by us or can see us. She was whining at me because it was time to feed her 😂 She's a very happy, content baby. Unless she is hungry or teething ^0^ Jesse wasn't a hip baby either. I'm not about that life 😂 Ya girl doesn't have the arm strength for all that.

Yes I can't wait for it to arrive. So I now dislike the windows in this house, like the mass amount on the far side. Just had a very beautiful bird I have never seen before hit hard, I thought he would die and he was upside down but maybe he might make it.. he is now sitting upright. Looked it up and its a Northern Flicker.. I hope he makes it. We will be looking for window deterrents after this.
