Sharing some news: I've accepted a new job within my university, starting May 20. That's one of the reasons I've been busy/quiet lately.

We've talked before about bringing someone new aboard, and I think it's something we should go ahead and move forward on. Would y'all prefer to take applications, or to recruit specific people you think would be good?

I recommend applications, unless someone else has some ideas. There have been a few people who I've wondered if they might be possible new people, but haven't kept up with them.

I'm not going to be able to be around much more than I have been lately. My guy is still having lots of problems from his stroke, and I was having issues even before that.

I'm also going to second the applications. I will actually be around a lot more now as the school year is coming to an end. Once we start up again in August, we'll see what my new schedule looks like as my daughter will be moving on to middle school, so that creates some possible new time windows in my own schedule.

And I'm going to agree we should open applications and see from there if there's anyone that any of us have had good/useful interactions with and go from there. I haven't been around much because a lot has been going on lately but hopefully it'll calm down some. I've still got some obligations that will take me away here and there now and I'm still working at least 1-2 weekends a month as well, but I'll try to be more present.

No rush at all on this, but I think something is wonky with our weapon list search results page.

pointed out that some weapons that should appear on a list are not appearing (this list in particular that is sorting for weapons doing at least 20 icons of dark damage and are infinite use).

The weapons in question are all correctly classed as infinite use and show they do 20 or more icons of damage but don't appear in the list at all (Halberd of Ill Intent, Malerias Cursed Arm Bangle, Corrupted Shadow Sword). I know 2 of them are newer and one of them definitely had an update to damage etc during the weapon overhaul, so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not.

And as a side note, I hope the new job has been going well ❤️

The search should be fixed for now (these were items that had their stats changed during the overhaul). Going forward if a weapon changes stats, the change will show up immediately if searching for that specific weapon, but will not show up in search results for a few hours (there's a cron job that needs to update the search engine, and that's what failed for us.)

I'm going to like the new position after a while, but the first couple of weeks have kicked my butt a bit. :)

Thank you so very much for that fix! I had a feeling it had to do with the changes not getting registered somewhere on the inner workings. I really appreciate it and will let Jess and the battle folks know :)

- I'm having trouble adding CWs to SubetaLodge. I added a batch yesterday (the batch prior to the new monthly collection). A majority of the items added, but there were a handful that I had to add individually. This morning, I tried to add last night's new batch, but none of them actually added. Here's a little screenshot of what it looked like when I tried to add them today:

-- Ugh. Same thing happened to me on Thursday when I was adding the July collection items. I was hoping at the time it was a glitch on their end and would work itself out, but now that you're having trouble, too, I think it's something else. sigh I wish they'd stop breaking our stuff. I'll look further and see what I can find.

: GROAN Once again, it's Cloudflare.

Two summers ago, I had to rewrite the add script because we couldn't get overlay information anymore because Cloudflare was blocking our requests. That forced us to paste a copy of the wardrobe page in each time we wanted to add items so that we could get overlay information from that instead.

Now Cloudflare is also blocking us from getting any hover information, and I don't know a simple way around that. The Item Directory has item descriptions, but not rarities, but the Item Directory doesn't include CWs.

Right now, I don't see any easy fix for this.

[edit] Okay -- I've managed to put a band-aid on this for now. I don't know how long it will work. One side effect is that the processing-the-queue page takes longer to load, so don't be concerned if you have to wait a while for it to come up.

I had a beast of the last few weeks - wedding to attend on the 22nd, medical procedure on the 24th, recovery, and a trip out of town for the holiday from last Wednesday on. I'm back and hopefully will be able to be a bit more present to help more.

FYI: I got a technical message today -- because of a hardware issue at the location where SubetaLodge physically resides, they're going to move our server within the next few days. The downtime should be very brief, but if anyone asks about it, it's out of our control.

I said I'd be around and then immediately have not been, and I'm sorry about that. I hope everyone is doing well - I know you've got a lot on your plate but I'm thinking of you and your husband hugs

I'm trying to be here when I can, work is just nuts and my back still isn't seeing the positive effects of the procedure yet and whatnot. I will be here as much as I can though.
