Welcome back!

Sometimes this place feels like more of a chore than a fun place to decompress. If you aren't having fun (or at least feeling satisfaction with accomplishing your goals) there is little point to it. There are a lot of not so fun things we have to do in life, playing shouldn't be one of them!

Just letting you all know that the cron (updates prices and most spelling changes automatically) is down -- also a victim of Cloudflare. I've got a three-day weekend coming up Friday, and should have a chance to rewrite it using the same tools that we use for the new mass-add script. If anyone comments, let them know we're aware of the problem.

On another note, I'll need to take SubetaLodge offline for a short time (maybe 20-30 minutes) to upgrade the operating system. This isn't super urgent, but needs to be done before the end of the year. I'm planning to do that over the weekend, too, at an early hour of the morning when the fewest number of people are on. I'll post an announcement ahead of time.

I'm having issues and idk if it's subeta or my computer or a sad combination of both but the site is behaving really slowly for me and it took forever to get the new CW approvals in.

I don't think it's SubetaLodge (though that does seem to be running a little better now) - I think it's a combination of my laptop and Subeta itself that's causing so much lag for me.

Just letting you know, the downtime is over, with a partial success.

We've upgraded the operating system from Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 22.04. (Ubuntu dates its versions by year and month, so we were running a two-year-old version. 22.04 is the latest version.)

We were able to upgrade PHP from 7.2 to 7.4. The latest version is PHP 8.1, but our forum software isn't compatible with version 8.1 yet.

There shouldn't be any noticeable difference, but these upgrades incorporate security fixes that weren't in the older versions.

With the original add item, once the items were added we got a listing at the top of the page with links to the new items. With the new add items we get a full page final report instead with this info:

I like the extra info, however I really miss the link to the item itself. If, for example, I'm adding a group of items that are all similar, but one is slightly different, I would be able to click directly to the item to edit it. Would it be easy to add a link to the item name?

-- It would be tricky to make the text linkable at that exact spot, since the script at that point is just echoing what it received from Subeta, and it hasn't yet 'figured out' whether this is an old item or a new item and whether a new entry has to be created for the item. I intentionally put the Subeta response in the output so that if it was a Cloudflare message, we'd know immediately that something was wrong and it wouldn't take me so long to figure out next time. :)

So instead, I made the item name a link further down, where the script says "Basic information received for Subeta Planet Blub." I hope that helps!

SubetaLodge was offline last night for a while around 2:50am Subeta time due to emergency maintenance at our hosting provider. I got a notification about it this morning., I don't think it's worth an announcement, since it's over, but if anyone asks, that's what happened.

I've got my last class of the day in about 20 minutes. After that I'll put the new zapper skins up and then work on the new items.

I was hoping it would be a little later before they added all this because I'm unfortunately at work. If I can do anything I'll try but no guarantees (and definitely not from my cell haha)
