What are the rules for submitting an item that is basically the same item or partially the same item repositioned? let's say I wanted a version of this with only the left ear slightly altered/moved to connect it to the head or even just moved down for use with less poofy wigs? I had it done to work with a specific full wig that I often use but I can't use it very well with flatter wigs(I'd love to wear it with this wig. Do I need to have both ears altered?

Yeesh I'm the worst, I never answered your second question - but as you already know, it's fine to use the same item XD
- As long as you released the original item (so you're not just like... tracing someone else's item to move an ear), it is a visible difference, AND it is not being done to get around a previously-set item total (ie: you said there'd be 10, you sold 10 right away, and now you want to make a tiny edit to sell 30 more and make more money), it's fine to just move the one ear.
no , I should talk to buyers about it though, as you can tell by my HA one of the ears floats which is rather jarring. I may just commission this color of the lengthened ear to be a private just for me to avoid releasing almost the exact same item as that isn’t fair to buyers, then release recolors of it/it and the slightly raised ears! Thank you! And yes this is an item I commissioned and I will ask+pay the original artist for the change if they are willing.

It's okie! We got it figured out in the end. TY lol
the initial item may have to be a specific skin tone, not all items work with having transparent parts for the base to show through. You can choose whatever skin tone you want.
They're supposed to be working on a way to make it less expensive to get versions with alternative skin tones.
After a few incidents over the past few weeks, I feel the need to reiterate this:
CUSTOM WEARABLES NEED TO BE 100% ORIGINAL ART.
You may not use brushes, clip art, stock photos, etc as the actual art in either your item or overlay. This refers to ALL parts of items and overlays. Although you can use free use images for reference, it must be completely original art, AND you must include this information in your submission.
This is against not only the CW rules, but against Subeta's TOS, and can result in a ban from CWs, an official warning, or your account being frozen.
Please, do not do this. If you have done this in the past, please submit a ticket and ask it to be sent to be so I can review it with you.
Oh boy. I hope folks pay attention to the announcement (though I did think this was a pretty clear rule to begin with) and you don't have to ban anyone :(
so the item I sent in got denied as I expected(I did need feedback and to see if the overlay was acceptable so I put it through) , I’m wondering how will resubmitting the item with the CI created by another user work? I’m not terribly good at lineart at least at the moment and am commissioning a CI. I’m just not sure what artist to list if I drew the CW and now the resubmission will have a separate CI artist ? Thank you for all the work you do, someday I want to be able to make my own complex CI but that takes practice , my art is rather sketchy and lineart never goes where I want it to .

you'll just want to clarify in the submission notes who drew what! So you can either list yourself as the artist if you did the overlay and put "item drawn by user so and so, overlay by me", or vice versa.
This should not be addressed here. I've edited your post. Please submit a ticket and we can discuss it there.
Ah thank you very much I apologize! I will address it there!

acceptable and actually preferred to using real world references!
Hi there! I made my first custom wearable (to be accepted) and it got accepted today, so I am very new to all this ;v; - my question was if I initially made a limit of an item in my shop (I just wanna see how it goes tbh) for example 20 - is there an option to restock if I havent said that the item is strictly limited/private? Would that count as batches? I really have no idea and don't wanna scam people if they see the amount available and assume the item is limited? Sorry for the silly question and thank you in advance ;;v;;
You are welcome to restock it as long as you haven't said "This is limited to 20 copies" or something similar.
I am admittedly frustrated as I post this, because I seriously don't know how else to make it clear. It is in the rules. It is on this FAQ. I've re-announced it at least two times since I came back to staff, including once very recently.
CUSTOM WEARABLES NEED TO BE 100% ORIGINAL ART. THIS INCLUDES NOT USING BRUSHES.
(Please note when I say Brushes, this doesn't mean the generic pen/pencil/whatever brushes that are just dot-type things. This means brushes that are actual images).
This is against the rules. It has always been against the rules. It always will be against the rules.
I have a no-tolerance policy for this because it is mentioned in SO many places.
I am begging you all for the following:
• If you are using brushes, please stop. In fact, please stop and submit a ticket so we can discuss it, rather than me finding out about it later and having to warn and possibly ban you from CWs. • If you have a friend that you think may be using brushes, please direct them to this post. • If you are not using brushes, thank you. Please don't start.
On a final note, if you know anyone involved in CWs that isn't in the OfficialCW ping group, it might be a good idea to let them know (and I plan on doing a re-announcement regarding that the forum group exists when I can).
