I am excited for the changes. I look forward to subscribing to help Subeta, and I am glad that the cost of CWs will decrease. I recall when they used to cost 200csc to purchase.
I gotta say, what a time in the world for an overhaul xD I wish other irl things would follow suit.
I'm eyeing the councilor tier subscriptions. Not sure who I'd give a buddy subscription to, or how I'd go about finding that person.

q: if i buy a plan right now (the 12th), will the benefits go into effect right now? so would my plan renew on the first of every month or the 12th? what happens if i buy a month (let's say august 1st) and then cancel it before the thirty days are up? I'm assuming you'll ride out the rest of the month (until august 31st) and then it'll cancel after thirty days?
I would love to subscribe, as it seems to be a better value, but I don't have a credit card, I do have a visa debit card, which works about the same, but idk if it would work here.... Although why do we need to put a ZIP code?

I had seen this before the announcement post, I'm always so glad that you guys are clear and transparent about why and how changes are made around the site and honestly now that I have steady income I might subscribe
Sad though, I was looking forward to the July Ruby Bonus items. I actually really did like all the bonus items that were released being tied to birth flowers or stones for that month. Dunno what other way there could be to keep that going as a theme, but I really enjoy it so it'd be nice to see if those sorts of Cash Shop Items could be in circulation.
Zip Code is to make sure it's billed correctly, as far as I know with that sort of thing. I'm not an expert though....
I guess I am totally confused. So we will no longer have a GA? Or we can only get the GA if we pay for a subscription? Can someone explain please

I saw your answer that the new subscription GA account would just be added to the end of our current GA. However, if we purchased a year in advance, what would be the point of that?
There would really be no point of adding a month to something that doesn't expire until March of 2021.
Would there be a way to refund us for the remaining time if we chose to go with the new subscription?

Great question, and things we can make generally more clear!
Benefits go into effect immediately (including the special item!). Your plan would renew on the same date every month (so the 12th -- this is clear on the page once you're subscribed!) and if you canceled on say the 18th, you'd have the benefits of your plan until the 12th of the following month.

Visa debit cards work the same as credit cards. I use a Visa debit to purchase currency here and many other websites
So excited for this!!! Honestly so excited to see the site (hopefully) get a little bit of a revival with all these changes. Especially looking forward to seeing the CW changes! We need new life in the market and this is a great start!
Let me start off by saying that I think the news Subscription model looks amazing and I would be thrilled to subscribe because the bonus I'd be getting would be well worth it. I'm looking forward to seeing what adjustments happen.
HOWEVER. This site forces Artists, Writers, and Coders to accept CSC payments or risk losing their accounts. You are effectively taking revenue from creators that they could potentially use to subscribe to this site, and for what benefit to the site? How much of that CSC for those slots was bought WHEN the person claimed that slot? Probably almost none of it if I have to hazard a guess. Most of it is probably long accrued and just sitting there.
Commission money IS my play money. It is the money I COULD use to subscribe to a payment plan. However, Subeta is already taking some / if not often times MOST of my expendable income with NO benefit to me. I don't believe I, nor any other creator on this site should be encouraged to give you even MORE of our income when there is little to no respect about the value of our trades.
It should be up to the individual creator to decide if they accept CSC / sP for their time. You're not paying your staff this way, and they do a lot of the same jobs we're doing.
I know this is a hot topic, and as a result I'll only be responding to pings from staff, and not other users. Thanks.
[edit] editing to add that by slots I do not mean 'slots' on CWs. I mean slots in Art Shops, Writing Shops, and Coding Shops.
A debit card should work just fine.
The only issue I have (and I have made a ticket but you might want to address it somewhere) is that there's not actually a way to unsubscribe from the Subscribe & Save model currently. I signed up for the new subscription (should've waited, do still have 11 days left on my current one) and then tried to delete my card from the old way (since there's no "cancel subscription" on there anywhere) and it just loads a blank page. I've made a ticket but you should maybe note there's an issue currently cancelling those just until someone looks into it and gets it sorted.
A debit card will work here! We collect zip code (or any postal code) to make sure that we're paying the correct amount of local taxes :)

Thanks for the feedback, but this topic is about the new subscription model. We're going to be looking for feedback on the CW system similar to what you've shared, but are trying to be more focused on topics like this.

Can we purchase these in say, three month installments, to start, to see how we use them? I would hesitate to sign up for another subscription service that I would have to keep track of - I would much prefer a trial basis, even if that means paying full price for a shorter period of time with an automatic cancellation and option to renew. And maybe to keep that from defeating the whole purpose of the subscriptions, you could make it a one-time-only thing? Like once you had your trial you only had the option for a regular subscription or not. Idk. I just already have so much shit being taken out of my account now it seems like every few days something else is automatically charged and it's getting to feel uncomfortable XD
