Gold accounts aren't going away -- they are just now part of this subscription plan. Existing gold accounts will continue to work, and the medals that you've got in your vault will continue to work!

Oh, this looks very nice! I probably only have a GA active for 3-4 months of the year, but I can see myself using this new version more often. I love CW's, and this will let me buy more of them without breaking the bank.

The Buddy GA is a neat idea too! It will be perfect to give to my sis to welcome her back when she can start playing more.

The only I hope I have with this, is that the extra money coming in will pay for more staff and future events. I wouldn't necessarily mind paying for a subscription, but if after some time we don't start seeing plots, events and promised things getting done, people will stop subscribing and we'll be right back in the same position we are in now. Cw's aren't going to save the site as we can clearly see, people are leaving right and left. We need things for battlers, pets and restockers too.

It's a good start. I'm crossing my fingers and will remain hopeful.

So, just to confirm because I'm a little confused:

Gold Account medals will stay in the Cash Shop, right?

I understand that, it&;s just I spent that money already, so to get the medal back is not really effective, I would have to spend more money anyway and it was already a big investment to buy the 12 months, would be nice to just exchange the GA to the subscription system for the remaining months to those who bought a long period GA, or the equivalent of the money? because I would really like to get the perks, especially when it&;s hinted about BC perks, for me it&;s the most important, but I don&;t want the GA to be stacked up + spend more money.

I'll talk to the team about how we can handle people who were year subscribers with a significant amount of time left on their gold accounts. The best that we're going to be able to do, most likely, is convert it to CSC, but we cannot provide refunds or free months of the new subscription service (it just doesn't/can't work like that)

Converting it to CSC seems like it would be the fairest solution.

Looks ok to me but I don't see anything related to pets at all in the subs, would yall maybe be looking to add some pet features?

This is actually really intriguing. I haven't been very active for a couple years, but this makes me curious to possibly come back. Especially once pet perks are added. I feel like this is a step in the right direction and I have hope for Subeta's future for the first time in, well, years.

My only worry is the wardrobe. Ever since it was mentioned that a limit is going to be imposed on items in the wardrobe, playing has felt even more pointless since the entire point of the site is to buy items and do things with them. I worry about wasting a lot of real money on items just to have my wardrobe gutted at some unknown point in the future.

are we going to have the ability to turn off buddy GA gifting? A gold account is nice and gifting one as a subscription perk is lovely, but I hate having it for long and really dislike the idea of not being able to decline it. Just buying a week here and there is better for me.

Bonuses for other areas of the site: Pets creators, battlers, we&;re not ignoring you! The reason that we aren&;t launching with bonuses for subscribing for more than a month is we&;re sure that the benefits on these plans are going to change based on user feedback, and what we see over the first month. As we watch the plans, we&;ll be adding to them (more likely than taking away) for other areas of the site.

Do you mean turn off like, people can't gift them to you?

We ended up not needing to impose that limit :)

Glad to see other payment options are being considered. I'm actually rather tempted by this subscription model, but I'll wait for other payment methods to be implemented first.

This is great news, it was one of the things that had me hesitant about the site going forward.

I'd like to get some clarification on the CW vouchers. I haven't been able to read through every comment so I'm not sure if this have been answered already. Are we allowed to use the CW vouchers on CW purchased via the slotting system? If not, then I am disappointed to see it still doesn't make it easier on releasers who have to pay additional csc on top of the original commission price. We also have to cover the artist slot, which by itself is an extra 500 csc by the biggest category (2,500 for 5 copies, 1,600 through direct to shop + 500 for artist copy = 2,100 csc). I believe the cw vouchers should be able to be used to help releasers get items on-site as well. As of now I am hesitant on subscribing as good as the $15 package is. Echoing others, if I see efforts in things like the teahouse, overall improvements to site/wardrobe stability and lowering the submission costs for CWs coming to life on site, then I might consider subscribing.

does the purchase have to be placed on a credit card? I tried with a debit card, and it said thank you for your purchase, but nothing happened. No charge to my card, and no CSC, etc.

👋 Okay, I took the payment screen back to the drawing board, and went with the default UI that braintree provides, instead of the custom one with our styles that was there.

What this means is: paypal is now an option! I'm in the process of setting up apple pay and google pay as well!

Happy for this big change and totally understand wanting to adjust the revenue streams.

However, I don't really get the Buddy GA system. The subscribers will always have a GA, and they'll be "producing" 1-2 buddy GAs a month. They could give them to their friends (who may or may not already have a GA), but then wouldn't this discourage those users from paying real money to get their own GA? You'll get a system where users are just having their GAs funded by their friends for free.. like what's to stop one user from subscribing and just gifting their friends a GA every month?

I feel like a "Buddy GA" should not be exactly the same as a regular one, maybe have it last 2 weeks instead of 1 month??

If those friends both are active users who move the site economy & community forward then yes, it's absolutely worth it for us.

We've reduced a monthly gold account to $3 a month because we think it comes with a lot of "base" features that make the site a lot more fun and pleasant, and keeps the site running. Having active users who get access to those features via posting on the forums or having friends who are subscribing would be a great problem to have!

The other benefits in the plans are meant to entice even those who are getting a gold account into subscribing, and passing along those buddy benefits.

It's a little bit of rethinking of how we've approached gold accounts up to now.

Nope! We&;re still going to allow the option to purchase cash shop credits and buy items in the cash shop with them (and will continue to release cash shop items), we&;re just adding an additional thing you can pay for monthly.
I see thank's.
