Can I get an ELI5 please?

Im glad you guys are adding some changes to the site finally! However im huge in the pet world, i love my pets, and would pay for a higher subscription if i could have one free pet slot a month or something along those lines. I feel like pet slots are a bit overpriced and it causes me to not be around as much. Pets give me a reason to make sp and to buy there tc items. and such.

Just getting the CSC back would be fine with me. I like you guys, but really don't need to have 1 year + 1 month of gold for as long as I'm subbing. haha.

Will those of us who have Gold accounts right now get the special item since we have to wait out our time running out? You giving me a GA for 3 weeks isn't anything to me if I'm just going to have to sub for another $3- $15 because I will never use them.

If you can make the vouchers usable to apply towards slots -- I'd be more enticed. As a lot of the times I'm slotting on wearables that aren't going in to a shop and the benefit of keeping up my monthly subscription is diminished if I can only use them on items in shops. I want to keep my sub going but for me the buddy GA isn't enticing at all (unless I am able to sell the GA in the advertisement section for sP? Not sure how that would be policed)

if one had ga vouchers and had not gifted them yet, but couldn't afford the subscription for that month can they cancel and use the ga gift voucher?

Also those who can't subscribe will still be able to buy GAs yes? I am one who will either convert sp to CSC to buy a GA or buy one for a month or 3.

What is happening with Cash Shop Loyalty Reward cards? Will the subscription count towards it? Will the amount you have to spend to earn a stamp stay the same?

A lot of CW creators don't have a GA because submitting CWs costs a lot more CSC than just buying them through the shops.

The reason slotting is so popular is that it greatly reduces submission costs. If you can't get at least slotters, you can pay up to 1600 just to get your item on site by submitting direct-to-shop (DTS). If you commissioned a CW design or bought one already made, you must usually provide a free copy for your artist. When you DTS, you have to pay the full price for the item you are giving your artist. You do not get a lower price because you created the item; you just get your "profit" back, which will not be more than 200 CSC.

At the highest submission tier, therefore--the tier for wigs, wings, animal companions, and limb mods--your DTS cost will be 2300 CSC, 200 of which you will get back.

The alternative to DTS is to buy a whole batch of 5 copies, which costs up to 2500. This is where slotters come in. For an item that would cost you 1600-2100 to DTS, you can get up to 4 other people to help pay for a 2500 CSC batch.

4 slotters can pay 2000-2500 CSC, potentially making your copy free. If you have to provide a free artist copy, you can only sell 3 slots. But 3 slotters can provide 1500-2100 CSC, meaning that your copy and the artist copy will cost you 400-1000 CSC.

I have had good luck getting slotters from the beginning, but I didn't start releasing CWs until I already had lots of friends and I bought all my art from people who are popular artists.

A person who is new to the site, especially if they do their own art and can't ping the artist's fans for slots, may find themselves in a position where they either have to DTS, or buy 5 copies and sell the extras at a price lower than shop, because they're competing with themselves.

Many people have to buy CW designs with CSC rather than USD. This is more expensive, but if you get all your CSC through trading SP for CSC gift cards, and can't pay USD, you have no choice, even though a lot of artists ask for more CSC than their USD price would buy and/or may require that you find and give them one of their wishlist CWs to commission. (Most of these wishlist CWs are not easy to find.)

Therefore, a lot of people who produce CWs, which is one of the major ways that this site makes money, cannot afford to put CSC into a GA.

Most of the CW creators I know who can afford to subscribe are giving their buddy GA accounts to CW creators who do not have a GA.

When and if the reduced submission prices we've been promised actually materialise, there'll be fewer CW creators who can't afford to put CSC into getting a GA.

Until then, however, I guess it's up to you whether you consider people who give GAs to the same people over and over, when those people are paying the site for the privilege of producing profitable site content, qualifies as encouraging "freeloading".

I'll talk to the team about how we can handle people who were year subscribers with a significant amount of time left on their gold accounts. The best that we're going to be able to do, most likely, is convert it to CSC, but we cannot provide refunds or free months of the new subscription service (it just doesn't/can't work like that) .... At any point that we announced it, someone would have been right before their renewal period. If we'd announced it two weeks ago there still would have been people who resubbed right before that.

I recommend making a ticket, like I said in other posts, we're talking about a solution for existing subscribers who have multiple months of gold accounts purchased. It's Sunday, and it will take time to come to a solution that we can apply. [/quote]

ooh and also, you know what might be fantastic is if that top-tier had a CW voucher AND a CW Submission voucher instead of the regular 3cw vouchers maybe then it would help the CW releasers as well as purchasers.

I can only speak for me, but personally thought that GAs probably weren't going to change much, since we could already get them at discount when buying more than one month at a time. It never occurred to me before that they'd just roll it into subscriptions. (It makes sense after the fact, though!)

As always, I have the worst timing & made the decision to fully re-up at the beginning of the month, when I could have just waited or just did a month at a time or something. eh. I could also choose to not subscribe at all & wait a year for my current GA to run out (they already got my money. haha.), or sub some months and not others (& slowly use it up), but I'd still like to toss some money at this place every so often & like the perks offered. (items & things for friends!)

It'll get sorted out & I'm fine with waiting for whatever & whenever that might be (especially with this being the first day of this and all). Not that there's anything wrong with being concerned or whatever, of course. Real money went into these decisions & decisions might have been made differently with different information. Say, if there'd been a deadline for August, I would have just did a single month again and waited to see. Something was going to happen eventually. I just chose poorly. :(

I never mentioned anything about CW makers, nor freeloading. I don't consider one person gifting their friends a GA = freeloading.

It was just a concern and suggestion about how to maximise gains from the new subscription model.

Someone may have already asked this question and I'm really sorry if that's the case, but what's going to happen to the GA medal items? Are they still gonna be usable?

I'm sorry i haven't read through everything, usually I hate people like that, but I'm at work and on my phone, can someone take pity and let me know if the subscription charges your card every month, or if it's one big hit all at once? I want the $15 one, but I can't do it all at once, but I'm not sure when my card expires.
