Hey guys just a quick message. I'll be getting to some responses up later on today.
I'll also be adding this statement to first post.
While I don't mind if you assume response and control of my event OCs if it makes sense and doesn't seem wildly out of character for the basic personalities I've set, and I don't mind you explaining simple character relations (IE: Neighbor, old classmate, childhood friend), please do not assume presumably detailed events at mysterious locals happened between you and these OCs that I have not previously implied. If I have no idea what's happened between our characters then it makes moving the narrative forward more difficult. If this was one on one rp it would be a different story but I unfortunately I have a tight story and narrative that I'm trying to follow and a LOT of people to keep track of.
That said please continue to have fun! It's been a real blast reading everything so far ♥

(repurposing my current HA - would be rude to show up without shoes on!)
She tip toes to peek over at the variety of pastries Richard appears to be having a private conversation with, nearly salivating at the thought of trying out his new creations today. She shakes her head and chides herself to have more self control as she continues to walk through the gardens.
Upon spotting Wolf from about ten feet away, she pauses. He was Miranda's physical type, she supposed, but how did he manage to have her friend decide to jump into marriage in only a matter of a few weeks? She furrowed her eyebrows with suspicious intent but then shook her head again to clear her thoughts. No judging a book by its cover! Besides, she knew she always took a while to warm up to someone - it had taken a while with Miranda (even with as sweet as she was!) and could be the same case again here.
With a deep breath, she approached her friend's fiance. "Hi there," she said, waving and smiling meekly. "Wolf, is it? I'm Luna, one of Miranda's friends. We went to school together for many years. It's great to finally meet you. I'm sure you've already heard it all at this point with meeting all of us on Miranda's side but I'm so curious, what are your guys' plans now that you're officially engaged?"
I also had the same thought process as Ferinsy (I had personally assumed interactive story was akin to like the visual novel genre and not MMO), and I would really love for you to still continue your initial plotline/vision! Speaking for myself at least, I feel like whatever you come up with would be canon and overwrite anything else, and I would be happy to adapt/retcon things to fit better into your narrative.

(Hiya, I know you purposely didn't mention anyone in specific, but did I by any chance do the thing you're talking about by having that bit with Nicolette? I tried to “put” her character back with the aunt at the end of my interaction hehe. This is my first time doing anything RP-related so I wasn't sure how to approcah it :3 I won't mind, it'll actually help a lot to know how vague I should make your characters' reactions to my character! I tend to take a writing prompt and run with it, lol)
yeah, that was my fear, I hope I didn't mess too much up , tried to interact with Wolf only ^^
(( Oooooh there is interaction! O.O)) Garrin peers over at Wolf as the man glances around after receiving the text. Garrin still has his suspicions that the text was not real but can't prove it. He mentally shrugged it off as Wolf just being extremely uncomfortable at this party and began people watching.
Garrin loves stealth people watching -- it's his favorite pastime. He pretends to read his book while absently flipping pages every few minutes, yet the entire time he is scanning the crowd and people around him by listening intently. In this case, since he is outside, he pulls on his glasses that have tinted in the sun and begins to outright watch everyone, all while pretending to read. His glasses are so dark that nobody can see his eyes, that is why he got the ultra dark tint option.

I really really extremely want:(i wish i had time to attempt getting into the wardrobe, i'd love to make a cute goth teaparty outfit, but for the meantime i'll keep descriptions vague until i can get a better idea of my character ^^ interesting contest, can't wait to see how it turns out!)
After parting with Miranda, and curious about this mystery new man, Ashalind carefully finds her way through the growing crowd. She'd nervously arrived early having dragged herself out of her room and her anxious overthinking about the imminent mingling, but hey she loved her new boots and needed an opportunity to wear them out for once and not just around the house. Mmm the food looks delicious as always, she made a mental note to circle back once the chef looked happy with the final touches. If she could pluck up the courage maybe she could glean a couple of recipes. Plus the chef's hair was a little bit cute. Approaching the fountain and Wolf, luckily she catches his eye in a brief moment of broken eye contact he has with the phone. Not wanting to distract him too much, she keeps her introduction short. "Hey I guess you're Wolf, Miranda told me you were hanging out here. My name's Ashalind but you can call me Ash" gosh why did she always feel so awkward at introductions?! Figuring she'd plow through all the important stuff so she didn't end up saying something incomprehensible (any minute now really) she continued, encouraged by Wolf's slight turn towards her. "Miranda mentioned you guys are engaged, congrats! She looks super happy!" Ash was curious to find out how they'd met, but wasn't sure if Wolf was more interested in the phone or the conversation.

sorry about that, I thought I left it vague enough that you could drop it entirely if it didn't work for you and it'd be fine.. I'll try to do better!

I'd no idea whether you knew about it or not, sorry--I just wanted to make Lilah and Ari friends because Truffula and I play well together. FWIW, I was assuming that it was some kind of resort and it was some kind of girls' weekend that either went horribly wrong or horribly RIGHT, and one of you would tell me otherwise...
Also just to sea really: Please clarify to everyone that this RP is on Subeta, which is why Miri lives in Veta and Ari's from Upper Ziara, because there are people talking about Paris and Seoul on here and I don't know how Ari should react if someone mentions places like those to her or assumes she was there with them shopping...
and everyone else tbh

People trying to interact only with Wolf is part of what's throwing me off as an RPer and making my character more Miss Judgey McJudgerson than she would normally be (though, to be fair, Arianwen is judgey anyway). It seems from IC POV like everyone's swarming Wolf and completely ignoring everyone else to the point of not even noticing that we are even there?
A lot of us have dropped hints about how we know Miri--Zoe from college, Ari from prep or high school. If for instance you went to school with Miri and Ari, it's fine with me if you assume we were friendly acquaintances and talk to me--and it's also fine if you decided Ari was one of the mean girls and have a grudge against her for that; but since Sea's time is limited, we'll probably have more fun if we also talk to each other.

A snooty looking wealthy but secretly nice woman who avoided marriage and is a fellow in medicine at a Ziaran university and a snooty looking wealthy but secretly nice woman who is a veterinarian and devoting her life to animals sound like they should be friends...

well, I knew this wasn't an RP, it's a story Seamania's already thought and any step I'd take would mess with that, so I tried to interfere only a bit bc I still would like to write some bits other than just my introduction speech. I sure thought it'd not matter if I mentioned other "users" I knew, but I was the 3rd person, the first one from middle school and I couldn't guess if there was another known face, even though I said I'd meet the other guests, what implies Wolf was the first person I saw after Miranda, her family and the workers (who I met on my way to Wolf, and as Seamania described it, he was a bit far from where the guests are hanging around)...
And I assumed the task was only to introduce myself to Wolf and we could talk about people we met, not directly interact with them, I was afraid, because from my perspective, we are all "the first guest to arrive" and the other relevant characters will be introduced by the OP, like a single player story game.
smiles and waves "Always nice to run into a familiar face!"

I definitely should have been more clear up front on exactly how everything was supposed to work. My original intention was basically said. I had prewritten a tight narrative that I could adjust a bit as the story progressed, and each individual would be able to work through it on their own. Kind of like how you would go through a story plot that Subeta does with NPC interaction, or like Ferinsy says a single player story game. Everyone who responds would have been the first guest, and the mystery would become apparent from there.
Like I said though this is obviously my fault for not being clear enough. I am currently trying to figure out how to... rewrite everything right now though, since my initial story is not going to work anymore. I am a little stressed out right now. So I am incredibly sorry. I put a lot of thought and heart into the initial plot line I had and I'm just afraid that when I'm trying to rework it into won't measure up to expectations : (
For what it's worth, that was my understanding too and I loved the idea! There are a LOT of people here, and as much as I wanted to treat this like a normal rp like said, I worried that if we all interact with each other and keep posting between prompts it could be difficult for you to keep up and runs the risk of railroading the plot too much. Not to mention, people who only have time to respond to the initial prompt could easily get lost under a mountain of replies with little relevance to the main plot…
Maybe setting a limit on how many posts a person can have per chapter would help? Like one response to the prompt, then 1-2 follow up posts to interact with other guests? I know it would hinder the roleplay aspect a bit, but I think it would keep things much neater. This isn't a traditional roleplay anyway.
Anyway, whatever happens, I hope you know that I (and probably the others) am just happy to be here engaged with this lovely little story you're telling! I'm sorry this has become a source of stress for you. Subeta is a place we all come to have fun, and if it isn't fun anymore, there's no shame in taking a step back or admitting something isn't working. Please take care of yourself before worrying about entertaining us. <3
I think just stating that it's a choose-your-own-adventure, rather than an RP, would fix everything; then, we could delete everything that doesn't make sense in that context from our posts.
Limiting the number of posts probably won't help (because it doesn't address what's in those posts) but if it's clear that this is choose-your-own-adventure, then that automatically limits the post number as you can't reply until Sea does.
When I hear "roleplay" I expect to interact with other players. When I hear "choose your own adventure" I also know exactly what to do. Sorry, because I think I'm the first one to have messed this up!
I am just confused by the language, that's all. If I'd known I wasn't expected to take note of other player/NPC interactions I'd have been fine with it. This is a style of "RP" that I have never encountered anywhere before outside of Subeta. (I'm used to running big RPs on the fly with lots of people messing up my plots, but I realise not everyone's me.)

i hope characters from fandom stuff are fine bc if not rip

Bastila returns Miranda's hug cheerfully though briefly. 'It's great to see you again, Miranda-- oh, I'm so sorry to hear. You lie down and feel better. Don't worry, I'm sure everyone will be fine with waiting. I'll go meet this Wolf I've heard so little about.' She offers a teasing smile. 'I'm just teasing you, of course, it's wonderful, congratulations. I look forward to meeting him.'
She lets Miranda be and heads in Wolf's direction, stopping to greet the others on her way. Wouldn't do to be rude, after all. 'Nicolette! Wonderful to see you again, that dress is beautiful. And you must be Belladonna.' She offers a quick handshake. 'I've heard a lot about you from Miranda -- only good things, I assure you. I'm Bastila Shan, I write for the Republic Press--' okay, it's a very new position, but she's very proud of it, '-- Miranda and I met on campus several months ago, she's been ever so darling, I'm not surprised she has so many friends in attendance today. Your hat is gorgeous, what a beautiful ornament. Anyway, I'm off to meet Wolf, Miranda asked I do in specific. Ta!'
She strides over to Wolf next, sharing a nod of hello with Roland, though leaving Richard to his musings. 'Hello,' she says, waiting for him to look up from his phone game before pressing on. 'I'm Bastila Shan, I'm a friend of Miranda's, I'm a reporter for the Republic Press. She asked me to introduce myself.' She offers a smile and another quick handshake. He's handsome, certainly, and a natty dresser, and given her own fiance she's not going to scoff at a whirlwind romance. She wonders what the story is. 'It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm sure anyone who makes Miranda happy is worth knowing. And congratulations on your engagement! I would love to hear the story sometime.' She adjusts her bag on her shoulder, accidentally-on-purpose showing off her own ruby engagement ring. 'My fiance couldn't make it today, but I'm sure you and she would get along smashingly. She teases me sometimes for being a chatterbox, she's a lot more thoughtful with her words, seems like maybe she would be more your type.' She smiles. 'Anyway, I'll have to introduce you sometime, but I won't bother you any longer if you'd rather avoid the crowds. Perhaps you and Miranda should come over for dinner sometime, we don't have anything so fancy as staff, but Revan's a fabulous cook. She's been teaching me a few things, too-- I used to burn water, my foster parents always said I was hopeless, but, well.' She laughs. 'With Revan teaching me I feel I can do anything, I'm sure you understand the feeling. Oh, there I go again. Anyway, it's lovely meeting you.'
I hope you don't rewrite the entire thing D: I think it was going pretty good. Sorry there was confusion. I tried to leave my message kinda vague. Knowing about characters but not really interacting with them? Like enjoying the cooks food smell cause the food was there
Ohh.. I get it now, so there’s actually a whole story designed already that we are just characters in. I definitely misunderstood, I think this line threw me off:
EDIT: Rey was really enjoying the party so far and though she wasn’t too sure what was going on, she was used to changing gears on the fly—part of her affinity for adventuring in nature. She didn’t really know what to expect anyway; she’d never been to such a fancy home before, and surrounded by so many wealthy Subetans!
There's no need for anyone to rewrite anything, I will be wrangling this plot and we will be going onward! Plz no one worry I am not giving up on this baby yet
"Ah good to finally meet you wolf, Miranda has spoken a lot about you!! I'm Aria"
Wolf stares curiously at my outfit but decides not to comment on the bird theme, he's meet other ...excentric... guests.

Rose was always thinking about treats, even now as she walked toward Miranda's new fiancé, Wolf.
Wolf... Who names their kid "Wolf"... Was he raised by wolves? That may explain his standoffish behavior.
Rose was a thinker and observer of human behavior. She liked to sit back at events like this and just watch how everyone interacted with each other. As Rose approaches Wolf, she clears her throat, trying to pry his attention away from his cellphone.
"May I inquire as to what game you may be playing on your mobile device? I tend to play those match-three games, and I've been playing one recently that is candy-themed. I've found that I can't play it for too long though because seeing all of those candies makes me hungry."
Rose giggles to herself while waiting for a response from Wolf.
