If you're suggesting new items that you would like to see, that would be better off in a separate thread. This topic is meant to make suggestions regarding already existing items that have names or descriptions that are problematic or use offensive language and should be changed.

You would be welcome to make a new thread for your suggestions though, so staff can better see it and understand what you are suggesting. :)

Maybe not necessarily the greatest offender, but the "politically correct" part of its name feels tongue-in-cheek and kind of cheapens the issue of respectful depictions of indigenous people.

i saw the single pea item today and thought for a minute that the ultimate miracle meal had finally been changed !! had to check this thread to make sure and, no, unfortunately, none of the items here have been altered. i want to put in my support for basically all of the listed items here changing in some way.

on a personal note, it irks me that some people who have had to suffer through something as all-encompassing and utterly grueling as an eating disorder are indicating that because they can cope and find humor in it, that it should be preserved. i hate bringing this up, but this is a fragment of code on a virtual pet site. if it can hurt someone in such a low place, why keep it ? there are plenty of private groups or more appropriate websites you could make the same kinds of jokes.

The item is named "Darki" This user drew a direct line from that to "blackie"

The history of darkie being used as a racist moniker for black people is not unknown. The item description has no reference to the "fur" color of the minion.

It doesn't need to be overt to be racist.

Not hurtful in any way, but outdated. Zapper Version 2 no longer exists and, instead, is called the "Ultimate Zapper" now.

Also maybe we all could post our suggestions for new item names/descriptions? I wouldn't mind trying some if you guys ask me!

Honestly used to drink to get over anxiety and ended up commenting when I shouldn't have, I am all for changing that item and admit I should not have said anything in the first place. I have been sober from alcohol for like 6 months and my life is significantly better. Sorry! Totally agree with you I had no idea what I was talking about.

Can we maybe change this skin's name from "Crack Head" to something else. I get it, haha funny joke meme name but also, given the stereotyping (and racial profiling) with the term 'crackhead' can we... move past this to something better.

(yes I know this was community voted somehow, but no that doesn't change my opinion in the slightest and yes as someone who has lost people to drug addiction I am particularly more sensitive to this garbage but also something like drug addiction / etc isn't as funny as people think it is)

Agree on changing the zombie strain name, we've already changed one for being named after a real condition and since addiction is, indeed, a disease.. only makes sense!

If could just poke a bit These aren't aggressive or shaming, just confusing and misleading to the point of being a problem as these are important for battling. It's as if these items had a different use entirely when the description was written.

Maybe it could be changed to something like "These crystals have a chance to bless your pet, cloaking it in warm desert air to protect it from being frozen in battle."

EDIT: I was actually thinking about this today during errands and the idea of changing the descriptions without need for art revamp immediately would be changing to a kinda joke about how in fancy restaurants they charge like 80 bucks for 2 bites of food or whatever. "oh cute, they gave us a sample of our meal? wait, no, that's the DISH? how much are they charging us for this again?" something like that.

That is a very old item and has been mentioned on this thread I think. I do agree that the description should be changed, but that item originally was released during the first Survival/zombie outbreak events here on Subeta and was meant to sarcastically refer to the idea that wearing a mask like that wouldn't protect people from zombie viruses specifically. So I don't think it's meant to be anti-vax or anti-medical science in the real world, but yeah it has been brought up to be changed to make that more clear or just redo the description entirely.
