The problem is that it's not a good ice blocker.

On average it only blocks 25 icons compared to 40 on USS and it makes your opponent's damage spike on the turns it misses. This probably increases the crit hit chance on the miss turns as well, which leads to even spikier damage. And it's spike damage that is usually responsible for ending a battle. It's relatively rare that you drift down 5% for 20 turns to end a battle, its usually that a spike hit you for 50%-100% of your damge 2 turns in a row.

so it's even worse than just losing the average 15 icons per turn.

if you care about achievements, there's one for using it to train your pet. If you care about book and gourmet food scores it's also readable and edible. If none of that matters to you and you just want stats I would sell it and buy tomes.

I can’t remember- have we had any holiday challengers this year? I maybe half remember the Luchadors, but Survival was approximately 43 years ago so I’m not sure anymore.

That was all we got from what I remember. I could be wrong but I really don't think we've seen many holiday challengers this year, sadly.

BQs are done kinda. I'm still waiting to hear back from my ticket about missing EXP but hey Arturo is getting stronger each day!

....I think we had the Luchas for Survival, but that's it if I'm not mistaken. No wonder I've lost interest here, no baddies to beat up.

Yeah, I think I remember the Luchadores from earlier this (?) year now. Still dissappointing to not have pirates two years in a row.

As a battler half the fun of the holidays is the battling. I guess I shouldn't speak for others.....half the fun of the holidays for me is the battling part.

Guess I won't be getting the Cap'n Jacques achievement this year either. There's no reason why the pirates can't show up late and hang around after the holiday finishes, but I'm not hopeful.
