Paz's identification is blurry between genderqueer and nb lesbian, and she answers to either she or they pronouns, but she's having one of her butcher days here. (Being a girl/woman isn't necessarily important to Paz, but being a lesbian is.)

(Keep in mind, I used to make historical costumes, frilly shit is not necessarily female/feminine-associated for me.)

I love the background!

For me, the reason I like using backgrounds is mostly because my HAs have a story - sometimes simple, sometimes complex - and the background finishes, or highlights, or adds to the story in some way.

I've also sometimes used backgrounds to soften or hide parts.

Ditto on 's comment! The background is part of the setting/scenario/story that the HA tells. I like to think of it like taking a snapshot of a person in their environment, rather than composing a portrait.

ooh, deepbase sounds good ... oh, bah, it's for CWs. 💸 Do you happen to know of a list of the standard items which work well for POC avatars? Things like [item=Delish Sonnet Blush (Darker)] and ? Plus List of Naturally Curly Hair Items of course.

I started working on that a while back and got distracted, though my list does include CWs. I'm a CW releaser. However, as a general rule, there are more blushes and contouring items that work for POC avatars on the non-CW side, because so many CW releasers think putting white speckles in blushes makes them look *sparkly* (which I guess is true if you're using bases 1-3, but on base 8 it looks pretty damn stupid.)

Could you ping the outfit with BG? I'd like to play around with the items you're using and see what the options look like
