We have singing groups, instrumental musical groups, children's dance groups. Lots of sing alongs and caroling. The music group today was great. Good dance music for those who could dance. Yes all at our senior's home. The nicest thing so far was our bus took a group of us to see the Holiday Train come in. Every two years before Christmas a train comes through at night.-with every car all lit up with Christmas lights and pictures. It's always a thrill to see it come around the corner, with the engine having a huge wreath on the front. When it stops the whole side of one of the cars opens up with a stage on it. Popular Canadian singers and a band play music for about 45 minutes. The crowd is always huge and it's usually very cold. But this year the weather was beautiful and our bus had a reserved spot right where the stage show is. We're higher than the crowd so we can see well and have hot chocolate and cookies. We were like a bunch of kids let out of school. The reason for the train is to raise money and food for the needy. They stop at every town in our part of the province. Last year our little town alone raised $7000.00 dollars plus the canned goods that is brought. The money and food raised stays in the town that donated it. Ours goes to the Salvation Army.

Even with the support of others, and also with all your activities, you still need time just by yourself to heal. Having said that you also need experiences like the one you had with the train! How absolutely beautiful!! I can just picture how pretty the train must have looked with all the lights and what a fun night it must have been. :) :) ........Also very glad that your daughter and best friend live close by. Soooooo good!!

, you are right, I do need time to take a nap in the afternoon like I use to. The fun activities are always right when I'm used to taking my nap at 2 p.m. and I hate to miss any of them, especially this month. 😄 I haven't even been reading- no time and my eyes are even too tired. 😆 ((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) I haven't had any problems with my gold account or shops when I'm on----yet.

Actually I had planned to not have a tree , but instead PLANT a tree. Also as I am 'vegetarian ( eat fish and chicken but no other meat, my body simply refuses it ) I dont really have any traditional danish christmas dish. usually I just get some chicken wins or myself my dad getting the brown potatoes ( potatoes have been caramelized on a pan. ) duck, ducksauce and pickles ( he barely have any appetite anymore ) also getting a tree would be a bother to him and his asthma. My mom pretty much took all the x-mas decorations when they got divorced. He let her take whatever she wanted ( which was pretty much everything. except kitchentable and half the dinnerservice. ) also remember wht it was caleld that my mother has: a psycosis. She was on 3 different closed facilities. the one she managed to escape from. while the other was no more closed than the patients could easily get their hands on some drugdealers..

hr entire personality has changed drastically since then. But she is still the awkward and silent mother to e around just like my father is silent. Still I got a better connection to my father than to her. She never really was there to take care of me or my sister when I grew up a least not the 3 years I lived with them..

Your childhood sounds very complicated and your mother sounds very unhappy or confused to be escaping the various facilities she's been in. I hope she is now in mental health care that is looking after her needs properly. I do hope (despite what you've written) that Christmas with your father is better than you expected it to be.

No joke: my entire life has been complicated ^^; But yea, my mom is at a facility for mentally il elders. Am kinda tempted to bring my æbleskivepan to make æbleskiver* at my dads, should get to him the 20th. Hopefully I can find a way home before the 31st. ( Just hopefully not with my oldest brother who is a bad tempered bully )

*Æbleskive is a traditional danish x-mas dessert. back in the days it used to be pancake-like batter around an apple slice. hence the name æble ( apple ) skive ( slice ) Super delicious with some jam or powdered sugar.
