I have always wanted to learn Latvian as that was where my father was from.
Going Fishing!!! π
Again, I struggle to pick just one but bear with my while I ramble, tl;dr at the end XD;
I'm currently working on a conlang of my own and am really into languages with different scripts right now. I tried learning the Russian alphabet a couple years ago but I've mostly forgotten it by now; Russia's also such a beautiful language and it might come in handy.
If I was able to learn any one language, my first pick would be Arabic since they have such a beautiful writing style. (I was first about to say the most beautiful but that would actually be the Mongolian script.) It's also so different from the languages I have studied but also common enough to be useful that it would be a great addition.
But realistically? I think those might be too difficult for me right now. Once I stop procrastinating, I plan to first brush up on my Swedish and Germany. After that, maybe Estonian or Norwegian since they are so close to Finnish (my native language) and Swedish respectively that I sort of understand a little bit of them already. Spanish, French or Russian would be more useful though and I definitelly wouldn't mind being able to speak them too.
I could go on but in conclusion: I'd love to study Arabic but will probably just continue studying Germany and Swedish
ohh thank you so much!!
as for this round's question: there's so many languages I'd love to learn if I had a better attention span and discipline to actually invest the time and effort into learning another language :') English is already not my native language (Dutch is), and I'm very happy to be fairly fluent in at least two languages already.. but I'd love to also get better at French, if only because my favourite movie director is Jean-Pierre Jeunet and I'd love to be able to follow his movies without subtitles some day.. right now it's all going way too fast for me to actually follow, alas...
I also tried learning Russian for a while with duolingo, I kept it up for a couple of months, but eventually something else caught my attention and now only the cyrillic alphabet and a few words here and there remain in my memory :') (and the letters are also still literally stuck on my laptop's keyboard haha because I bought those keyboard stickers with the russian keyboard layout on them in a different colour next to the english one)
another language I'd love to learn is Swedish, which I also tried doing with duolingo but again my limited attention span ruined that plan sighs.. I'd still love to visit Sweden at some point..
so many awesome languages, so little time, alas.. (p.s. I couldn't help answering the question because I love languages, but you can disregard me as an entry when picking the winner for this round because I already own Delish Verid Shampoo :) thanks so much again for picking me for last round!)
I would love to learn Turkish. I have a lot of children in my class with parents who don't speak the same language as me. I would love to learn their language just to be able to have a good conversation about their child.
And I've always wanted to learn Spanish. Started with lessons once, but was too busy to keep up with it. I just love the sound of this language.
Thank you for the previous participation prizes <3
I've always wanted to learn Italian since forever, I don't really know why it just appeals to me I guess. Maybe because Italy is one place I've most wanted to travel, So learning the language would maybe be a good idea!

heads up, you didn't update the question in the first post. Thank you for holding this giveaway, by the way! :)
I've actually been pretty lucky that I've gotten to study multiple languages over the years, it helps that it's my field. There are so many languages I'd still want to learn, though. I think Sanskrit would be awesome, there are so many important texts that use it and I love ancient languages in general. Russian because it's really interesting. Finally, learning endangered/extinct languages would be cool, so many languages go extinct far too often and it's a real shame.
, the Divine Comedy is written in Italian, not Latin! It's a kind of old-fashioned Italian but that should make things easier for you instead of learning two separate languages. :) The fact that it's in Italian was pretty important because (to put it roughly) it helped cement that major literary texts didn't have to be written in Latin. I think it also helped contribute to Tuscan Italian becoming the "standard" variety of Italian -- the one you'll probably learn. If you go to Italy, though, other dialects and varieties are still used sometimes in certain areas and they're really interesting too.
Language nerd out, sorry :P

I would like to re-learn German. I took it for two years in high school and a year in college but now I remember almost none of it. It's probably not the most practical language choice but I don't like the fact that I've lost it.
i know what you mean i am trying to learn some coding here with a tutor...and the event came around haha POOF i must start over..same with my duolingo Spanish

I'm learning Chinese. I was born there, but raised in the US, and feel I'm missing out on a big part of my culture. Issue is there's not really an alphabet in Chinese, (pinyin doesn't count) so learning vocab can be a pain. But I'm excited to get to talk to family in a way I wouldn't have before.

Thank you, !
I learned French a bit in high school, and I've always wanted to be able to learn the language of love much more fluently. I really would love to visit Paris, and see the sights, but also speak to native French folks in their language.

Do programming languages count? :P If so, I'm starting to learn python currently. I have a technical computer type job, and using python for some of our backend systems is a logical next step! It's really pretty reasonable to pick up, and a heck of a lot more useful to me right now than a foreign language.
Spanish, because it's a widely used language so it would be useful to know, and it's cool too!
...
I'm trying to learn Spanish. Living in Montreal, there is a multitude of people speaking various languages... including Spanish. I have a friend gardener and residents in my building that speak Spanish. One of the residents is teaching Spanish to help his wife that struggles with other languages develop friendships. I'd also like to learn to be able to have simple conversations while waiting for the bus since it has happened a few times people only know Spanish. I already know French, English, and a bit of Mandarin (lived 3 years in China).
Since I was little I have wanted to learn Italian because my grandmother was from Italy. I would like to learn Spanish now because I think it would be worth knowing. Something else that I would like to learn is sign language, it just fascinates me.
I'm another one who'd love to learn to sign. I think BSL (or ASL for those across the pond!) should be taught in schools. I'm much more likely to encounter someone who is hard of hearing than I am to go to France/Germany so surely it should be the default?
I really want to learn Spanish, as I live in Arizona and it's very common. Also a lot of my boyfriend's family has spoke spanish their whole lives and his grandma doesn't know English and I feel bad I can't talk to her. (My boyfriend and his brothers hardly know spanish themselves, so even they have difficulty communicating and i feel sad for them)
Thanks so much for the gorgeous beanbag! <3 I'm inching ever closer to eventually collecting them all. ^_^
I already learned French and Flemish (although my French is currently much better because I actually use it occasionally) and studied Ancient Greek and Latin, so my next choice would be Italian. c: I tried learning Auslan but my early-onset arthritis makes it impossible. :c
