lol, Just posting on subeta still sometimes gives me major anxiety, no way I'd survive meeting someone famous n__x;;
Maybe I'd pick some politician or some crooked big business owner and try to persuade them to do better. Somehow I'm less nervous when debating for a cause that's near and dear to my heart.
But if I had to pick a name, I'd probably just choose Ryan Reynolds. I'm not in a habit of fan-girling over anyone no matter how much I like their work, but he seems fun off-screen as well. Plus he, too, has anxiety and I find it encouraging/inspiring that he's out there and doing all that any way
I'd choose Snoop Dogg. He seems like a really fun guy to hang out with and we could swap vegan recipes.
If I can choose someone who is no longer with us, I would choose Prince, such amazing musician and song writer. I would love to know if he really was the gentle, sensitive and generous man that he seems to have been. I so hope so. I often wonder this about famous people, if they only show a persona or if they are what they appear to be.
..
as for me..it would be David Bowie..as he could tell me stories of how the two glam rockers of the sixties came about..
Marc Bolan of T_REX and David had QUITE the history together writing songs about each other, falling in love.. as well collaborating on stages together.
i would want to hear the stories of which i have read over through many years.
I love them both but since David lived a good long life and Mars a very short one..David could also tell me about how the Glam (as we know it now like the 80s) started with the two of them and how it touched the next ten years and more of rock n roll.
their music has changed my life several times and i would So cherich the stories of past as well as the many changes he went through and reinvented himselfeach time!

I don’t really like many public figures or celebrities, simply because I have very unique opinions and ideas which don’t usually line up with their beliefs, haha. If I had to pick someone I admire to meet, though, I would choose Kelsey Impicciche. She’s a gamer from Buzzfeed Multiplayer, and just an awesome gal in general. She is really kind, supportive, and unafraid to share her life and troubles. I honestly think we’re twins! She’s a really great role model and someone I look up to, so I would definitely like to meet her.
Hmmm. Public figure or celebrity. I think I'd like to meet Keanu Reeves.
So he was obviously in some amazing films- I mean, The Matrix is one of my favorites, of course. The recent John Wicks are a fantastic example of good fight choreography.
But really why I'd like to meet him, is that he seems like a terrific guy. I've only heard good things about him and his interactions with fans, so gotta give him props there.
A few years ago I saw his documentary, Side by Side, and it completely blew me away. It's all about the impacts of digital and "photo chemical" film creation. Like, all the theaters nowadays are advertising their "4k digital projection" - all that means is that they got rid of their 35mm film projectors with the big reels of film, that ultimately had better color displays.
I helped run a sort of movie theater on my college campus, and we actually still had 35mm projectors in use. Training to use them was really fun. More and more distributors these days aren't making any film prints, and just leaning onto the digital formats (which come on a hard drive.)
Anywho, yeah. Keanu seems like a really fascinating person to talk to, who also seems like a really stand up human being.
I would probably like to meet Ellen Degeneres I was a big fan of her show when I was a child and she still seems funny and cool and I'd be okay in a brief conversation probably.
I'm severely anxious and introverted and don't like meeting anyone so this question was very difficult to answer. Thank you for my previous participation prize.
This is a tricky one as I don't really have a celebrity or public speaker I'd like to meet. Most people I'd like to meet are more like creatives so some of them don't have that celebrity status to an extent.
But if I do meet anyone by any chance, I'd be nice to meet David Attenborough as I admire his involvement in the natural world as well as his documentaries and he seems like a genuine, kind person.
I'd love to meet Lynn Gunn because she's cool and I love her music. If not, then someone from USWNT; Tobin, Press, and Pinoe especially. 💖

Oh I wanna learn Cantonese which is another dialect in Chinese (I speak Mandarin) Why? It sounds cool XD There's this Cantonese song I learnt a while ago (actually I've mentioned this song while answering the round: which celebrity do you want to meet?) there are words in the MV (is it MV?) and I kinda followed the words while the singer song. There are some words that sound similar to mandarin but others I can't tell unless there were words on the screen.
I want to learn Spanish because so many people around me speak Spanish.
I want to/am learning Korean because I got into kpop like 10 years ago and so I slowly started leaning it naturally. I picked up words here and there, and then 5 or so years ago I had such a weird moment where I realised I could suddenly read the hangul characters. (Everyone has probably had this moment when you they were little and don't remember.) So now I am working on expanding vocabulary and sentence structure. BUT I am busy with other things and also procrastinating, so I am still just learning it naturally on my own, through listening and reading. I'll get there one day~!
I think Russian would be interesting = Я думаю русский будет интересным (apparently, I have no idea if that is correct :p)
I would like to learn American Sign Language (ASL). It is just something I have always been interested in. As a kid, I borrowed an ASL book from the library and taught myself the alphabet. I have learned other various signs over the years but never really studied officially. I now work with kids with special needs, including some who are hard of hearing, but still verbal, and we do use some signs. I would love to learn even more and be able to fully communicate with someone who signs.

I’ve spent the last two years learning Spanish, but I’d love to learn both French and Latin. I’ve also practiced some Esperanto, but it’s been about a year since I’ve done any real practice (Esperanto is actually really interesting, it’s actually constructed as a "universal language" and was made in 1887 to be easily accessible to learn and communicate with others; even if you only speak it and another language, you can speak to people all over the world! There’s a convention of speakers every year iirc.) I love to learn just about any language though, and between myself and my friends we collectively speak/sign (in varying proficiency) English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Russian, German, and ASL. I just like learning because it’s good for the mind. :)

I'd really like to learn ASL (american sign language) both so I can increase my ability to communicate with hard of hearing folks but also because I'm autistic and have adhd and i have a real bad time with interrupting and wanting to say things. If I know sign language I can say the shit I need to get out without interrupting anyone, and continue to have LOUD HANDS (this is an autism thing. Some harmful autism programs try to teach "quiet hands" and hand flapping is a good stim and a self soothing thing and hurts no one, so I have LOUD FUCKING HANDS). Also it seems really useful if I feel like going nonverbal, or if I'm in a loud space where people won't be able to hear me. Or just communicating from a distance! It's such a great invention C:
If it has to be a SPOKEN language, it'd be yiddish. A couple of generations ago my family would have been able to speak it regularly and be speaking it in their communities, and I want to reconnect with my history in that way. Plus duolingo is working on adding yiddish and I think duolingo could work for me to learn it.
Demiboy (He/They) ALWAYS LOOKING FOR: | or similar | any magpie-looking wings | Cool Ears
I love languages and I would like to learn so many of them. I started learning German on duolingo a year or two ago but I got super lazy and didn't return... I've been thinking about going back. I'd also like to learn ASL or international sign for accessibility reasons. I wish that was a course on duolingo, I think it could work with pictures of hands and/or short videos to show gestures.
