Current veterinary assistant and veterinary student studying to become an actual veterinarian~
A werewolf? One day Dr. Torrie
I'm going to chime in here because I have quite an unusual and dying profession.
I'm a picture framer.
The shop I work at also does some art restoration, so I get to dabble in that occasionally.

I am working in a new field. I took some Peer Support Specialist training early last year. I didn't know it then, but I was setting myself up for what I think is the best job I have ever had. I answer phone calls for a Peer Support Warmline. I am using my lived experiences with mental health issues to help others. Over a year ago, I talked with the person who is now my boss. We were saying that there should be a Warmline. Then the virus hit. We got grant funding late last year to be able to actually have the Warmline. It is amazing! We are able to help others navigate the tricky terrain of their lives and make the world a better place for them. I am going to take WRAP Facilitator training next month, as well. I will be able to lead others. If you haven't heard of WRAP, it stands for Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It is something you can put in place to help improve your mental health or any other kind of health. You can set up a contingency plan that clearly states what you want to happen in case you cannot make your own decisions. It allows you to designate a person/group of people to handle your situation. You can also say where you do and don't want to go for care. All in all, it's very customizable and a very good tool.

I'm a fulltime digital illustrator, so all day drawing on the pc... and procrastinating here :D
I quit my job in Nov 2019, because my kid was missing so much school because of his immune system, and a mystery illness. He recovered, but then COVID happened, so we needed to keep them out since he was still vulnerable. So I don't work, but I homeschool my two kids, and do minor babysitting for the occasional money. My other big thing is I volunteer with Scouts BSA, running a pack of cub scouts, as well as our yearly day camp weekend.
Grad student! It's so, so different from any other type of traditional schooling (high school, undergrad) because you can spend a lot of time meandering around to figure out what exactly you want to spend lots of time on. I also volunteer with a local outreach program that leads science lessons for elementary schoolers.
Fun Fact: saltwater is decent conductor, and Play-Doh has a ton of salt water! If you have non-dry Play-Doh, a 9V battery + connector, and some LEDs, you can have tons of fun making their little sculptures light up while teaching them about communications, Christmas lights, and even some basic device physics. Super fun, and you can buy all the materials in bulk for classes.
That's awesome! Around where I live there are actually a couple places that specialize in that and at least before COVID they seemed like they were doing okay. My partner's friend would go to them pretty regularly to have custom frames and shadowboxes made for pieces he'd get at our university's art department's fundraisers.
I'm a web coder. I used to be a taxidermist, then a graphic design artist, before I self-taught myself CSS, HTML, etc. I specialize in animations, transformations and transitions or hovers, and I love fiddling with 'easter egg' type pop-ups and info-related tooltips.
I'm out of work right now because I had been a part time product manager who was supposed to go full time but then Covid happened. My degree is in computer science though so right now I'm looking for work as a software developer or product manager again.
The application process is so brutal though. I have been focusing on that recently and coming to Subeta to destress. The current job I'm interviewing for has me doing a psych test, 2 separate interviews, and a 4 hour monitored assessment which will just be annoying LeetCode questions...
I'm a copywriter. Also procrastinating right now
I'm a professor :)

My last day at the grocery store I've worked at for over a year was today. Now I work at a rehab center as administrative assistant to the program director. It's really amazing and I love being part of a social services environment!

Social worker here too, this is super cool! You're doing important things!
Thank you! My boss is SUPER supportive and is encouraging me to do school or certificate to be a counselor myself and use some of my time there as credentialing hours :) The work you do is SO important! Our social support is the near-invisible backbone of society. Esp with children, who are the most voiceless victims who need healthy experiences to become healthy adults.
