The first (two) baby item(s) I would buy would be One colour onesies (short or long, depending on the season. Long have to have the foot cover attached. I found socks to always fall off) and a soft baby blanket to wrap them in or lay them on. Third is soft burp cloths (I used cloth diapers). There are so many things they need! And a lot of stuff people buy that they don't really need.

The first thing I would buy would be something fun / a memento type dealio. So a special blanket or stuffed animal, something comforting. I like all of the useful ideas too, but I am a sucker for sentimental value!

Gosh, my 'babies' are all grown up... I don't even recall what the first thing I bought. But I guess if I was a new mom today, I'd buy a keepsake- like maybe a teddy bear, or something that you can save for when they're all grown up. I'm sentimental like that lol.

Hello Evalynn! I do not have kids yet, but I think my first baby purchase would be an 'impulse' one... a piece of clothing, maybe a cute onesie or perhaps a small cozy blanket. Something comforting, nothing particularly special but also something useful that could represent the baby's future need. :D

I'm not having kids, but I think the first thing I'd do for one would be to set up a savings account/fund/bond whatever those are. My great grandma did that for me. It was technically supposed to be for when I eventually retire, but I dipped into it a year or so ago and because of that money I was able to buy my first house!

Congrats on getting through morning sickness! The first thing I bought was a baby book for both my children. I wrote down everything from day one of their birth!
Then I bought them each a stuffed animal.

Thank you for all the suggestions! I didn't get to see the baby just yet :( It got moved back. However, I did get my blood tests done and the test reveals I may be a bit further along than originally thought. Details coming as soon as I have them!
