, I didn't have the thumb surgery.. I imagine that would hurt more then the simple carpal tunnel

most my pain is my thumb, but that in no way belittles carpal tunnel surgery pain. both hands the most pain from thumb after surgery and the initially beginning of the therapy. between both procedure thumb wins pain level for me. people experience pain different from surgeries. so I am sure you werent pain free. carpal tunnel isnt easy if they have to open the palm of your hand, I am lucky they did a small opening in the crease of my wrist. But I was told if they didnt see the carpal tunnel nerve at the wrist they would have to open the palm. which one happen to you?

, they opened the palm of my hand but the most pain I remember is before surgery... it was nerve pain that went up my entire arm and hard to sleep. After surgery I only took 2-3 pain pills and was fine. Thumb I'm sure would have been much different.

ouch that much trouble before surgery. I thought have them open the palm would be very painful. I am glad for you that it wasnt. thumb was okay after 3 days of pain med, just have to make sure its propped up to bring swelling down. Its still swollen, and I have it propped up all the time. once in a while pain in thumb, or when I forget and walk in the house with my hand hanging down. nothing much up, just sitting behaving and taking care of hand, sleepy and bored. thanks for the app!

, it may have been painful if pre surgery wasn't so bad. It was actually a relief after surgery.. my hand hurt a little but not up my arm.. I think that is the reason I begged them to do both hands at once. Due to presurgery problems.

oh I wanted both my hands done in june when I got the right hand done, because of both issues in each. but i knew it wasnt possible, but my left hand continued giving me a bad time waiting for surgery. My hands got real bad about 2 years ago, I initially did the cortisone shots in my thumb joints, but that was totally temporary relief. oh i saw relief in right hand right after surgery. only regret i wish i had surgery in both hands sooner. you will see therapy will improve how your hands feel. i had occupational therapy for right had, and my hand improved so much in strength and mobility. my last appt for therapy was oct 21, I still do my own at home until now.

, I never got OT.. didn't really need it then I got RA so that kind of negated the therapy but glad you finally got both!

Thanks! I was almost dancing on the way to surgery the long wait was over. As you know the smallest task or movement was painful.
