Hi I am doing fine, my hand surgery isnt until the 3rd of February. I wish it was sooner my left hand is bothering me every day with everything I do. Taking the lid off a jar of any type is a challenge even a plastic milk cartoon cap. I would have been here sooner, but I was crocheting and the bundle of yard got tangled really bad. It took me 2 hours to untangle. UGH to long!

Thanks! I want to be comfy and relaxing, which didnt happen as I mentioned to Duane, I was untangling a bundle of yarn for 2 hours. Time I could have been crocheting, my first crocheting project in about 2 years. I am making an afghan. Since issue with my hands, but right hand recouped really good from surgery, and I was told crocheting is good form of exercise for hand as long as I dont over due it.

... No fishing far too windy. Have you heard about the fires here?

We are safe where we are. Not many trees around and cleared land. Smoke around tho'.

well that sounds time consuming. Hope you get to your projects soon and your recovery is helped along by it.

Are you and your family okay? I hear Australia has fire just about every where. They said, some of our (U.S.) firefighters flew over to help your country. We have many wild fires here, whether on flat land or mountains. So they will be able to fight the fire on any terrain. BUT they should have gone over weeks ago, at the very beginning. Keep safe, and if its near you just leave dont wait. Winds can change the direction of a fire in seconds, and may prevent escape by certain roads near you.

My last project was a bed cover for a queen size bed, and it hung down to the floor on 2 sides. It took me, 3 hours a day for 6 months. The one I just started to day is much smaller, since it will be for a child. Normally the yarn doesnt get so tangled, it was just the way the manufacture didnt that particular bundle.

I didn't realize they could be that tangled. How long will this one take you?

Usually there not, part of the problem was the yarn was a mix of similar colors making it hard to see a difference in the different loops of yarn. Basically it was 300 grams/220 yards/201 meter which ever measurement you use, of one long piece of yarn tangled horribly bad.

We are fine where we are. The smoke is around us depending on the direction of the wind. Fires are everywhere here in Oz, but some maps and reports are misleading. Gum / eucalyptus trees as in the California fires, are a big problem, as is there has been no hazard reduction burns. So that leaves, bark, and fallen branches etc cause the fires to get out of control very easily. But you will hear our politicians and paid fire fighters saying this is not the case. Trying to save face. All of us who live in the bush see the evidence of this. No one is permitted to take fallen timber. A wind storm happened here a few weeks ago and a tree fell across a road. A friend lived nearby and got his chain saw and went to cut up the tree. He was abused by several drivers and he told them to get .... you know what ... and left them. A bit off course but how people can be blinked.
