- I love that idea - an emotional bank. Need to figure that one out ❤ My sweet doggie is 14 also...hearing loss, cloudy eyes, needs her meds daily...but she still plays with her toys and is so affectionate...seems to enjoy life so far... We appreciate her every day.

my heart goes out to you! I live this fear with my older dog. I have had her since she was 4 months old in 2005. She is very arthritic, and walking to far is no longer possible for her. But we did get to take her on a trip with us last weekend, she loved it. She has to be lifted in and out of any vehicle/automobile, and she weighs about 27 kilo/60 lbs. We lost her brother 2 years ago July, and every since we fear her leaving us every day. HUGS

Yep first thing if she isnt moving, I check to see if her side is moving, I may one day have to whip out a mirror to see if her breath is fogging the mirror.

Oh he was a big boy and I bet gentle as a lamb, except if someone messed with you. Our old dog's brother was about 40 kilo, and in hours he was paralyzed from the middle of his back to his hindquarters. We took him to the vet, and one hour from the vet he passed. Our older dog now Roxy, almost followed her brother Ringo. In the first four months of Ringo passing, she lost 5 kilo in weight, she was lost without her brother. We got a new dog and his smaller, so she thinks his a baby to take care. He pulled her out of her depression and heartache. In a sense, our new dog pulled us all out of grieving for Ringo. He had big paws/shoes to fill though.

I hope so to, we need her here. But I wont hold her back, and have her suffering either. I just feel blessed every we still have her here with us.
