my older son’s dog would hide older son’s possessions out in the yard. So my other dog tattled, all the items she went and got them. She brought them to me, some of items were unusual. But his dog had this habit since she was a pup.
silly dog she ate figs, apple and limes that were in the yard. Even the pecans dropping in the yard from neighbor’s tree. Let pecan drop in the yard and the dogs went scrambling to be the one to get it.
So, it's been a really rough week. My management was great and gave me the entire first half of the week off to spend time with Cory before I put him to sleep and to handle the first wave of grief and my best friend was as amazing as ever and stayed with me during the two days after. My parents are also wonderful and did everything they could to make things easier and help me find distractions when I needed them.
The big news, however, is that I'm going to be meeting with a potential new support/companion dog in just a few hours. I hadn't really expected to be looking for one quite as soon as I am but this week has shown me just how much I really relied on Cory. I'm going through a rescue with this dog and nearly as soon as I let them know that I was ready to start looking again they came back with a suggestion, which just so happened to be the very dog whose profile I was looking at when I received the e-mail suggesting him. Turns out he's actually temporarily with a foster family in the next town over from me and we were able to arrange a meeting for today. To make it feel even more meant-to-be, I didn't even originally have today off of work but there had been a scheduling mix-up and my supervisor had made some last minute changes. Trying not to get my hopes up but it's kind of hard not to when it feels like the universe is pointing in this direction.
Anyway, thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, and expressions of love through all of this. It's meant so very, very much. ❤
HUGS I feel your pain and anguish. I have /had still thinking have 2 littermates. Ringo passed July 3, two years ago. He wasn’t sick or looked like had an issue, one late evening suddenly he kept standing in one spot and doesn’t want to move. Within short time that evening, he was paralyzed from mid section to hindquarters. Took him to vet early a.m., they have an injection to help. But in one hour of being home he passed. Vet said, he may have to be put down. My middle son was here alone with his dog passed. I had to hear on the phone I was in Egypt, I was shattered and think why heck the am I here I want to be home. His sister Roxy was heartsick and depressed, we got another dog that is pittie and Bassett, his small so in Roxy’s mind a baby. She was depressed lost weight, almost followed Ringo. But now her and the new dog Rondo are the best buddies. Rondo (Ronnie) saves her life. But Roxy has arthritis and I worry, she is an older dog at 14 and fear her going. My dogs are my kids, too.
: you have my deepest condolences for losing Cory.
Thank you both. ❤
As of today, I've officially adopted my new boy! We'll have to do some training to get him registered for therapy and support but he's a perfect match for me and it really just feels like it was meant to be, like the universe put all of the pieces together and handed me a finished puzzle. His name is Duo. He's another corgi but he's a tri-color cardigan where Cory was a red and white pembroke and he's honestly the biggest corgi I've ever seen. He's a hearty, big-boned, herding dog and a total goofball and he's very upset that my cats don't want anything to do with him just yet. All he wants is to be their friend!
Here are a couple of pictures.

Duo in RL I would call you the dynamic duo. Sounds like his a total love bug and he will win those silly cats over.
I am so sorry to hear that you lost your Cory! It's hard enough to lose a pet, but to lose a therapy animal must be 100x's more difficult. I love the pictures of your Duo-what a sweetie;) I hope you have many years together!!
Is enjoying Spring
Congratulations on getting Duo. He is absolutely adorable! Thanks for sharing those pictures! :D

I can’t remember if your stateside, if you are. One unusual place to look for work is Craigslist. Yep craigslist, my older son got a job from there. I thought it was just to sell unwanted items. But I would as a precautionary measure check any business through the better business bureau before applying, and check online for the business’s website and check reviews.
my other son has been using indeed, too.
Good luck on getting the job
