I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. It can be hard to lose a pet, but I know that the loss of a service animal can be even worse because the relationship is so much more intense and even closer. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time.

Bohicon and Bluegenes especially concerning their elder or ill dogs. If you have others dogs, my vet told me. Let the other dogs smell them if they should pass. I had 2 littermates one died 2 years ago, I feared this so much. I talked to my vet just 6 months before Ringo died. The vet told me, this was the only way that the surviving one Roxy wouldn’t keep looking for her brother. Her smelling his death scent, let her know he was passing and he hadn’t just left for a short time. Roxy was still mourning, so watch the survivors that they eat and drink water. Because Roxy didn’t for 4 months, we watched her carefully and didn’t leave her alone or leave her with anyone but direct family. Thankfully she came out of it, and we are blessed every day. She is 14 years old in August. We know our time maybe short, but the way she was after her brother passed. We have treasured every day as a gift.

Just reading back to some previous posts.....I had thyroid removal surgery as well back in 2015. It was 2 surgeries, the first to remove the large mass on the right side along with the right side of my thyroid. The second was because pathology reports came back after removal that it was cancerous, so they removed the rest of my thyroid to be safe.

That's what happened to me as well, except the sides were switched, and my "mass" was actually really small, like 2 cm I think. My husband tells people that he paid someone twice to slit my throat, isn't he just the cutest thing (said with a massive eye roll).

Well my surgeon told me Tuesday that I was having my operation this Friday, Yep... that's tomorrow. I'm hoping for a good outcome with no spreading of the cancer outside the organ. If not then I am done.... If the cancer has spread then we'll be talking about chemo and radiation. I really don't want to do that. I don't have time to be that sick! Please keep me and my surgeon, anesthesiologist and nurses in your prayers. I'll see y'all on the other side.

Edit: Just got word from the hospital that I have to be there at 6 am in the morning!

Haha, aww I'm sure he means well! Gotta have some humor somewhere, ya know. My first surgery was before Halloween, so I told my cute looking surgeon I didn't mind if I came out with a gruesome looking scar to scare the kids lmao

I've got a beaut of a scar;) I keep remembering this line from the movie The Replacements, "Chicks dig scars" that's what I tell myself about it-Lol It actually stretches across the whole of the front of my throat, but now that it's completely healed it's actually not all that noticeable.
