Hiiiiiiiiiiii and anyone else around! We're having a "snowmageddon" storm here! Snowed in tonight!
We walked the big dog and the littlest dog today. And I ended up carrying the little one most of the walk as so much snow with slush and water all mixed together. UGH Glad we left Liz and the yorkie at home!! Going to be a mess for a while as the temps are just above freezing.
GOOD LUCK KRISTIN!!! I know you're at the hospital now and soon your son will be born!! <3 <3
Get well soon!!!!
Oh boy!! XD trapped?
Lol yup now I set here for a whole day woo XD
And sitting there not being able to eat is the worst. Or the cramps/contractions!
good luck with the birth
lol, we are so cold the dogs are freezing their feet.. but if they didn't take so long to find a spot to poop it wouldn't be soo bad

ROTFL! They have to find that perfect spot. Dogs are so funny! We let ours out, they pee everywhere come in the garage and poop. Makes my hubs so mad. :-D
nope worse today but that's how it goes I guess
Give a flower!

emulsified white beans sounds great for soup. At that point I think I wouldn't even need the tomato. I'll have to try it some time!
I like your HA, the turquoise sketchy background goes really well with the black and turquoise outfit/hairstyle!
lol, my older cat keeps pooping on the floor. i think it may be his nails need a trim but i have to wait until my sister visits to help hold him because hubby doesn't like him. woulda done it last year but she didn't have the money to visit due to running both our parents around for surgeries and such

I started using white beans in all my emulsified soups. I make one with zucchini that I posted in the recipes. Such a healthy low fat alternative to cream.
When both of my cats got old they stopped using the box for everything. As much as I love cats that's why I don't plan on another one. :-(
Our is going have a bebe today!!! I'm just a little excited! LOL!
I'll have to try the zucchini soup! Sounds so good.
As for older cats - the only ones of mine that stopped using litterbox when they got older, it was because they were diabetic. When we put them on insulin, they went back to using the box as they ought to.
Insulin for cats is a difficult thing but it helped mine a lot! (I have had two diabetic cats. One died of it eventually, five or six years after she started having it, the other died of cancer that was unrelated to the diabetes.)
Well that sounds like the best Valentine's Day gift ever-- a baby!
I'm very sorry about your dog, though.
hmmm, interesting about the beans. Don't think I'd do that as I don't always digest beans well, but if it tastes good, why not?
I wouldn't worry about the fat thing though. The diet-heart hypothesis is pretty well disproven and debunked these days. Metabolic syndrome is caused by too many carbs! check this out:
It's really terrifying how the sugar/grain industries took a play from the tobacco industry's book to make people think fat was the cause of all their heart and digestive problems, when the treatment for diabetes prior to the discovery of a way to give people insulin was a ketogenic diet heavy in animal-sourced foods.
Of course vegans are clinging to the diet-heart hypothesis with both hands and feet and will still tell you there's "no safe limit" for saturated fats, but it's BS.
Sometimes you can get cats off insulin by feeding only a high-protein, meat-based WET cat food, and making sure that you get one that doesn't contain pea protein, gluten, etc. By-products are FINE, they include offal and bone and other things that a cat would naturally eat in the wild. Diabetes in cats can sometimes be the result of feeding grain-heavy, plant-heavy dry foods that don't contain enough liquid. As obligate carnivores, while cats can survive on some plant protein, they don't thrive on it. And they literally require zero carbohydrate.
I got my Asterix off insulin--I changed his diet and started watching him closely, and he responded so quickly that I had to cut the insulin back dramatically because he was getting too much and I had to get him to eat fish with honey on it to fix it. Unfortunately, he passed away several years later of a cardiomyopathy. I didn't mind giving him insulin--he knew it made him feel better and after a few days on it, would come and tell me when it was time. But it was expensive and he was healthier just eating without. http://www.catinfo.org and the Feline Diabetes Message Board helped me a lot.

Im so with you on the whole sugar/carbs/fat food thing. Ive been banging on about it for years, ever since reading Dr Atkins book, that was rather extreme but it definitely worked for me and my daughter! my hubby and I try really hard not to have too much sugars, hes diabetic and I was addicted to sugary things, so last year I decided to go cold turkey and stop with the sweets, it was awful for more than a week, I was shocked how much I struggled not eating sweeties! But now I am in control of it, and only eat very few sweet things.
Paranoid rant coming up!
To me it seems obvious that over the past 30 years here in England we've been told to eat more carbs and everyones got fatter, but they are usually cheap foods, so poor moms are giving their kids chips, rice, bread etc, Im convinced that the government is happy for everyone to get fat and poorly because they dont need us manual workers anymore so we may as well die fat and happy!
That's really interesting about the cats! We couldn't tell anything was wrong with the first one that did most of the peeing and pooping around the house. But one day my hubs said it was her time. (She was my daughter's cat and didn't hang much around me as I had my other cat and she hated other cats.) She was a rescue and when my hubs took her to the vet to be put down he told my husband she was close to 20 years old. My cat that peed and pooped around the house near the end was about 16 so we knew his time was near. My hubs and I carried him from box to food to bed for about 2 weeks and when he stopped eating I knew it was his time. I'm still heart broken a year later as he was the once in a lifetime awesome cat. He was the most loving sweetest cat I ever knew and I was his only human. :-) But I do not miss having a cat box in my house, so no more cats. Side note: My new pup pees and poops all over the house but not as gross as cat messes. :-P :-D
Hey Stranger!!!!!! :-) I eat the beans mostly cause I totally love beans! And about 5 years ago I lost 20 pounds on Weight Watchers and I now eat WW Freestyle and beans are a zero point food. And it works for me. Anything with much fat puts weight on me faster than anything.
I did Atkins in the 70's and not my cup of tea. Actually I've pretty much tried every food eating style and some better than others but WW Freestyle the least restrictive. I don't eat white flour or potatoes and very little sugar and as long as I stay active I stay trim.
And I'm currently listening to Food: What the Heck Should I Eat? by Mark Hyman It's pretty interesting but like all things food I take it all with a grain of salt. LOL! :-P
i love cats too much not too, dogs have their done sides too
