what test did they do? Brown rice might also be easier to stop eating, in that I would get full faster! thanks :)
The endoscopy can be a false negative if you've already mostly stopped eating gluten because the damage can heal up rapidly, even though it frequently doesn't, and the TTG antibody test will be false negative if there aren't any antibodies circulating. I was pretty sure I was celiac and I forced myself to eat a slice of bread every day until I went for the antibody test.
After the antibody test, I got 3 phone calls from doctors and the lab the next day literally telling me to stop eating gluten, they weren't going to do an endoscopy, because I was very sick and needed to stop immediately. They were very surprised when my reaction to this was relief, because after becoming suspicious, I had stopped eating gluten for a week and felt so much better, then after I ate it, all kinds of symptoms returned and I was in misery.
The worst part about celiac disease for me was that while I still have depression and take meds, suicidal ideation, for me, at least, turned out to be a celiac symptom. I was never suicidal in the sense of actively wanting to die and making a plan, but I was bothered by intrusive and upsetting thoughts when I was in places like the train station and that shit went right away when the demon wheat was no longer in my system.
ETA: you have an awesome secret sweetie! So do I. :) I got a ton of stuff today, and it was all amazing. :)

wow. They only did the antibody test on me, and didn't tell me to eat any wheat before it, so that could be.
I had the intrusive weird self-harm thoughts too.
(mental and physical symptoms are a little bit graphic, so I'm spoilering them)
possibly too graphic descriptions of symptoms I had while still eating wheat
I mean in my case not actually suicidal, but horrific thoughts of very dark nature, and in my case it was only in a certain parking lot. I swear I was nearly convinced the parking lot was haunted or evil or something. I have no idea how celiac could cause place-related dark intrusive thoughts, but, maybe it does. What a weird symptom. I didn't even think to associate that. It happened at the peak of the symptoms caused by eating wheat, too: the cycle of constipation/vomiting/liquid-diarrhea was nearly constant by then, and the abdominal pains were worse than ever.
Except for the localisation this all sounds unhappily familiar. hugs At a certain point in celiac disease the tissue transglutaminase antibodies can cross the blood-brain barrier. It's awful and I'm sorry you went through that.

thanks for the sympathy, at least it has been many years now since :)
Me too, high five -- I just really wish we'd both known earlier!

Apparently the forums decided not to let me know if anyone responded so >.> How is everyone?

No my not wanting to eat meat comes from my mother. She grew up on a farm and saw animals slaughtered so was squeamish about eating meat and passed it on to me. But I know my system needs it so I eat moderate amounts.
I read about your Celiac! I'm so sorry you're dealing with all of that! :-( A year ago thanksgiving I ate some white rolls and couldn't even move for a few days so I cut out all wheat and immediately felt so much better. For me it causes inflammation and affects my joints. Although, for the last 3-4 months I have eaten some whole wheat and as long as it's very little, I'm fine.
Our HA's must have hung around the same sleaze as we have the same disease. :-D
I'm sorry you're still sick. She deserved to win, even if she drove me crazy. lol
Hey!! :-)
I assumed you did and I probably do too. Very cute HA!!!!
It's all good, I was diagnosed in 2010-2011 so it's been around 9 years since I've intentionally eaten gluten. Cross-contamination is a problem but I'm pretty good at avoiding it.
I'm miserable right now but that's because I have a respiratory virus from HELL.

@ Diana I guess so! wonder what we'll look like tomorrow?
Yikes! Feel better soon!!!!!
You're ahead of me as I can see your HA's loose screw. ;-)
thanks, i love butts too much XD
