It doesn't fit in the box I wanted to use, so I had to cover the box lid with some bubblewrap and tie it down to stop it being really obvious what's in the box 😊 (it's probably a bit bigger than the one she'd seen - I wasn't too sure how large those spheres would end up :P)

For example, male Rosy Bourkes have a bright blue stripe above their cere. Thanks! :D That was quite a challenge - I wanted to use a plastic straw in the neck as a form of support, but I couldn't find the quilt wadding in the cupboard (I thought that might wrap around the straw better than regular toy stuffing), so I just rammed as much toy stuffing into the neck as I could ;) It does hold the head up, but only at certain angles :P It works incredibly well :D :D

I see Magnus is still in a Christmassy frame of mind? ;) I love the little elephant :D It does make it quite complicated to get all the stuff made / cards done when birthdays are close to Mother's Day / Father's Day! At least so far I don't think Mum's birthday has been on the same day as Father's Day ;) Apparently 8 years ago Father's Day was on the same date as Mum's birthday, so I guess we just celebrated one the day beforehand (honestly can't remember how we worked that! 😊)

Well, it seems like it worked out well anyway! :-) The straw was a good idea, though. I don't think I would have thought to try that. xD Those puff birds are some of my favorite plushies ever. :D Thanks. :-) Ooo, Niamh looks ready for baking today, is she good at it? :D Her outfit matches really nicely with the backdrop as well. :-)

The plush did come out a lot larger than I'd anticipated (I'm hopeless at guessing the finished size just from a flat pattern piece! 😊), so I might try again with a smaller pattern at some point, and see if I can use the straw in that just to keep the neck more stable ;) The legs could do with shortening, and the feet made a bit bigger too laughs oooo and that's another snazzy outfit! That background really stands out against the fevermore head & those wings :D hehe she likes baking, but she needs more skill - she tries to add in extra ingredients than what the recipe says, so her results aren't always edible :P

When I tried my hand at making plushes a few times, I had the same problem. xD A smaller one would be cute, too! Yeah, hopefully the straw would work in there. I think it looks great, though! It's pretty darn close to the ones on my shelf. ;) Hehe, thanks! I thought a hippogriff might make sense with the antlers, I have been wanting to use those. :-) Aww. xD That sounds like some of my baking experiences. 😂

I made the pattern up myself, other than using a basic pattern to make a sphere (I had no idea how to achieve that otherwise :P), but it does look surprisingly close for a first attempt laughs :D

I used this tutorial & pattern (link) for the sphere (large for the head and I think large printed at 200% for the body) then just drew out shapes that kind of matched the picture for the rest (the beak was surprisingly easy when I realised it was done in 4 pieces :P) hehe I think she's probably going to stay as a very enthusiastic hopeless cook ;) She might be able to do basic things eventually, but the more complicated recipes will always be beyond her ;)

hehe I got the elephant the other day :D So I thought I'd have his Christmas getting her. We've had mother's day and mum's bday on the same day.
