the best gift I have ever been given is Scout, the chihuahua (mine and my husbands baby son pup)
My mom got him way too early, wasn't ready to leave his mother. She decided he was too much work before he even had control of himself. She called me saying that she was going to take him to the pound and we refused, so she brought him to us.
He is a part of our family, four years in march :) We took him to petsmart today to get his christmas gifts XD Peanut butter bones, a little crinkle toy beer stein, and a tomte squeaker :P
The best gift I've ever gotten was when my uncle surprised me with a dalmatian puppy for my birthday when I was 5.
Best gift I ever got was a big box of Lego bricks from my SO. We spent that Valentine's Day making silly creatures and making up stories about them.

The best gift I ever got was a stuffed toy my dad gave me. I've got many gifts but that was the most special.
My partner is my best gift ever. <3 Love you more than you can imagine.
Our pets were mostly found on the streets, but thinking of how they changed our lives [for the better] I think they were actually gifts we didn't know we needed, haha ;) The oldest is with us for 7.5 years and the youngest for 3.5 years. and i wouldn't change things for the world.
I'm also excited about the adult coloring book we got this year [mostly for me, but yea] won't use it till after xmas. and the little hip bag [not sure how they're called] my friend from Japan send me [he bought it in Kenya, used it for 17 years, and it's still in the best possible condition].

A gift that's pretty high up there for me is the picture my friend made for me as a high school graduation present. That friend is a fantastic artist, and I love that I've gotten to see her art journey. She's worked her butt off and now she's in CalArts! I'm so proud of her and I'm so glad to have a relatively early piece of hers hanging on my wall :)
Best gift I've been given are my children and when my hubby proposed to me right in December 2015 (after like 10 shooting stars LOL) he said he was waiting for the right moment...I said how many shooting stars were you aiming for? :P

My favourite present I’m going to give will be this year. My housemate is working away for a couple of days and I’m getting a group of friend to help me completely revamp his room so it’s the swankiest gamer pad he’s ever seen. New paint, new wardrobe, new desk, new lights, the lot.
Best one ever was my first tablet 10 years ago. I had wished for it, but I knew it was very unlikely that I would get it. They were not a thing that you could just find on our stores, my father doesn't like buying gifts online and a tablet is pretty expensive too.
Thus I was extremely surprised when I opened the present, to find a Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet in the package. My father still says I lit up as a little star that night and it was the best present I ever received.
It never stopped working and I first replaced it for a Cintiq some months ago.
I don't tend to get gifts very often (being born 5 days before Christmas means people don't have much spare cash for birthdays and we never had much to start with growing up!) so as a result I'm always super happy with any gifts at all! This year my kids handmade me some cards and I adore them!
My partner sends me goodie boxes when they can afford it--since they live in Finland, postage is often murder, so these are special treats. They often contain journals and cute socks and really awesome Finnish candy and really sweet notes and things.
