The best gift I ever got was my dear cactus (no longer among us, brutally murdered by my clumsy mother). It was a gift from one of my best friends, and the cactus came with the name Tompero. Both me and the friend really love to watch Masterchef Brazil and one of the chefs has a cat name Tompero (it means spices), so it was a really good name.
This year, I'm giving my boyfriend a hand-carved wooden watch with the engraving "My love for you is EVERGREEN" on the back. And I think it's one of the most clever gifts I've given XD
The best gift I've ever gotten was Jesus
Give a flower!

The best gift i received was a kindle touch - i'm a bookaholic so having ebooks for me to read any time i want is awesome.
My best gift I ever received as an adult was my laptop I am using right now! As a child I remember wishing for a big stuffed blue poodle and got it for Christmas one! Was so happy that I cried!
A place to live 750 miles away from where I lived my entire life after my Mom passed away a little more than a year ago and I had no place else to go.
I was taken to a bookstore and given the chance to pick out whatever four books I wanted. Still the best gift ever v:
I took my daughter to see Coldplay for her 13th birthday.... we kept it as a surprise until we got in the car.... the look on her face was priceless!
the best gift i have ever received is when my dad paid my car off i had worked like a dog and only have 6 months left and he gave me a receipt for christmas. totally cool
My husband and I eloped on what happened to be Mother's Day one year. When we got home, we were showing my parents what we bought at the concert ("this hoodie, this beanie-" husband: "show them what else you got." me: "MARRIED." as I held up my hand to show that I was wearing the wedding ring.) and my mother said "I GOT A SON-IN-LAW FOR MOTHER'S DAY! Best Mother's Day gift ever!"
My daughter's school had a gift store and my daughter bought me a couple gifts. I don't know what they are yet, but they're already my favorite.

Best gift received - our car broke down and we couldn't afford a new one. We relied on walking, cycling, the bus. None of these were ideal, though, because we live in a tiny town and the bus only goes in-county (which isn't very far when all the important stuff is just outside the county). My husband's coworkers actually gave him a CAR. It's a 2001 monte carlo, and it has its issues, but it's probably still the best car he's ever had. It's been very reliable all year. We got it just in time, too, because I'd been trying to schedule a time when we could borrow a car to take my cat Enyah to the vet for a check on her hyperthyroidism medication. It turns out it was killing her, and if we hadn't gotten the car in time to take her to the vet, I may have lost her. After working very closely with the vet for months, we managed to get everything under control with a prescription food instead of the medicine. Receiving a CAR as a gift was an incredible gift on its own, but it was also the gift of life for Enyah.
I love giving R2D2 themed gifts to my older friend Gail. We've been exchanging gifts for the past three years or so and it's always warmed my heart to see the smile on her face when she opens her present. :P
The best gift I received would probably be a tie between my old N64 (I got it when I was seven) and our first cat Socksie, even though Socksie never really seemed to want to cuddle with me (he was definitely my mom's cat)... I still loved having him around and playing with him. Sadly he passed away at the age of 12. He was, however, the gateway to us getting more cats in the future. :)
When I was a teenager I got a set of bright blue suitcases. I was going on a trip to Japan, and since my family wasn't well off at all this trip meant the world to me. I scrounged and begged for enough money to go, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity for a poor girl. For Christmas, my mom signed our family up to be "adopted". People would adopt a family for Christmas who couldn't afford presents. She told them about my trip and said that I don't have anything I need for traveling. They gave me a four-piece suitcase set with a pack of various travel toiletries inside. It was probably the most expensive present I had ever received and also meant so much because the trip meant so much. I still use those suitcases some 15 years later and still cry whenever I think about how grateful I am.
I gave my best friend two quotes that were printed on old library book pages. One was a quote from Parks & Rec that describes us and one was a super inspirational quote for her. I loved them and she absolutely loved them when I gave them to her.
For some reason some of my friends always get me magnets. Magnets with Cats, magnets with sayings.. not sure how that started. I'm not that into magnets! But for the best gifts... I've had some very thoughtful gifts from some ex boyfriends.. but I think my mother is the best gifter by far. She usually uses holidays as an excuse to get me things I need for running my business, but it's the other days that I love. Whenever she knows I'm having a rough go of it, she find some way to slip a note or a card in somewhere I wasn't expecting that says a simple "I love you". It always means the most.
It's hard to decide the best gift I've given.. I've had some good finds. None really pop out to me at the moment though. I might just be foggy minded from the snow storm outside today. It's Lovely!
lol, Sagi. I love the responses on this thread where the best gifts are the birth of a family member or marriage. So cute. I don't have anything to compare... Though... I did get my first drawing tablet for Christmas 2011. I still have it, and I'm so thankful for it. I love making digital art.
Best gift was actually this year....
My husband commissioned from one of our fav artists/friend a scene of me being waited on hand and foot by favorite actors wearing kilts XD
Main Cosplays: Harley Quinn, Captain Marvel, Elsa, Mera, & American Dream
