yeah, I have one who has been nominated for literal MONTHS before I even made Webmaster XD A chibi antlephore named Looker!

https://subeta.net/pets/looker

Isn't he cute? I had a lot of fun drawing the art for his profile. I'm not at all a master artist so I'm proud of how it turned out even if it's not the fanciest art. I drew Looker himself as well as the page background. The story is commissioned - I didn't write it - but the author surprised me with literally the cutest story ever. And the TC is supposed to be things he found while exploring the forest... including a couple things I put in there just for humor, like the tombstone that says "TURN BACK" and a piece of shinwa's bracelet XD

So cute ❤ I absolutely love art and graphics, especially the TC pop-out effect (which works on tablet, yay) and contents. The story was fun to read, it's so cute and sweet! The only thing I'm missing is the like-button, so that I can like it :P

A good thing about infernal summers are the nights, they're warm enough to not need blankets, yet still oddly cool. Or at least here...

The summer nights usually cool down pretty well here as well. I prefer to always have a blanket, so that's no problem for me. How do summers go, weather-wise, at where you are? In Belgium, June and July are the hottest (usually with 1 or 2 weeks of temperatures between 30°C and 35°C and no rain) but then it tapers off and it's average temperatures + lots of rain in August.

We routinely get 90+, at least a weeks worth of 100s. If it rains, its not unlike monsoon season. This year we got flooded, but its been over a decade since the last.

The odd thing is I feel opposite the ambient, sometimes I feel like I'm boiling in freezing days. And in summer I'm freezing despite the heat. Mostly indoors, but even outside...

Do you mean literally/physically? Or more mentally?

Sometimes mentally, more often physically. I've gotten used to both, but other people might question my actions.

How strange. So do you then dress in more layers in summer, than you do in winter?

There are days in cold weather I have one layer, and I still feel hot. Summer I go around fully dressed, but I take a coat when I go anywhere.

To put some context, I rarely use heaters or A/C.

Sounds really different. Do you find that annoying or are you used to it?

Kicks yo' doo' down, yo' stuck with me now. Because, man, I'd love to talk coding, computers, art, etc., with you. That's something neat about Subeta— seems like we've got a lot of legitamate(tm) programmers and designers here.

...like . Webmaster's page is a masterpiece. They don't make 'em like they used to, ey?

I'll warn you, I tend to stick to people like glue. And yes, it does seem to be the case! I think that a lot of people got interested into programming and design because of petsites. I know that I did and I think that mentioned that it was the same for him.

All hail ! I also love Bug's new user profile and I'm trying to figure out how they did the random colours but I'm rather failing at it T_T

same here! I started out on Neopets and ended up migrating over here, because Subeta is better. (I make it sound so linear. I ran blogs and things interim, but they were terr-i-ble, so. So no, I didn't, you can't prove anything).

Now I'm squinting. It looks like a CSSPlay thing, but I'm not 100%? All this new-fangled technology.

Getting used to people's reactions will take time.

I recall a past UN from Neopets, default_to_death. I still reflect that here. But I'm not really interested in getting that kind of attention.

I did the same type of thing, with some other petsites/avatar sites thrown in the mix as well. Though what the crap is CSSPlay? I tried googling it, but I only get results from some website called CSSPlay and I don't think it's that >_< Is it something PHP related, or is it more todo with those fancy new custom css properties (which I haven't been able to test yet)?

How do most people react then?

what other sites? I'm on Flight Rising, though I don't play as much. A friend of mine is trying to get me on Marapets, but I'm a snob and won't until they finish with their artwork update.

And I feel like it's a php thing? To rotate around different stylesheets. You'd have to ask Bug to be sure, though! Back in my day, everything was iFrames.

Lemme think... I did Marapets too, I think, and Gaia Online, and Kingdom of Knuffel and a whole lot of other sites, before settling on Subeta. I can't remember the other sites, though MySpace also occupied a chunk of my time at some point.

I can't find anything that points to it being PHP, but I can't find anything that points to anything else either. From what I can see, it's not a different stylesheet every time. There's a stylesheet with the profile and a stylesheet with the colours. The one with the colours changes values upon refresh, but I'm still no closer to figuring out what changes the values. I started with iFrames too, but I'm glad we're mostly past that now ;)

, can you satisfy my curiosity regarding your rotation trick, or is it a trade secret? No problem if it is!

rest in peace, Gaia(''s economy). And MySpace too, though they're still TRYING to be relevant. Never heard of Kingdom of Knuffel, though! Was it any fun?

Hmm, maybe a PHP thing to change the color/image values, or a magical jQuery script? Me and my tiny associate's degree can't figure it out! (Plot twist, it's somehow been iFrames all along).

Meh, it looks pretty cute but there didn't seem to be much life in it. I only played it for a month or so and then forgot about it. Before I came back from my hiatus, I tried giving KofK another go, but it was still rather meh. Subeta is much more active and lively and homely and cosy. It's like coming back to a cabin in the woods, that you haven't visited for ages, and you find out that someone has been doing the upkeep for you and there's this fireplace lit up and everything's been cleaned and all.

Might be. Could also be scss, if it's been compiled you wouldn't know the code that goes into it beforehand. I doubt it's iFrames though ;P

I just came back to Subeta after a month and a half-ish hiatus myself. You're right about it being both active and cozy! Coming back, it was just as lively as I remembered, but I also didn't feel like I missed things that were vitally important (like I did playing Neopets, if I went on a break). Very relaxing! Always stuff to do, and always at your own pace.

Dude, no, it's totally iFrames. It's just a conspiracy to make you think it isn't.
