Q: What’s your favorite drink?

(I was gonna say 'ultraviolet', so sneaky me wouldn't have to lose any visible colors, but the campus wifi went down as I was posting.)

Favorite drink: By volume? Diet Coke (my caffeine fix -- but I don't usually drink coffee or tea on top of this). But a really good lemonade (not overly sweet) is just heavenly.

Q: What country would you like to explore but haven't had the chance to visit yet?

A: Germany and Ireland. Also, although it's not a country, I'm gonna add that I really want to go to Antarctica to look for meteorites.

Q: Which Subeta species do you wish were real, and would you keep any of them as pets in real life?

-- Hard to say. I don't have a sense of scale for some of these species (though if the lifelike dolls are an indication, that helps) -- and I don't know what kind of temperament (or smell!) these species have.

I'd have a problem with any of these species as a pet -- in the Subeta mythology, these species eat dead people's eyeballs and fingers and poop and vomit and even poison -- and yeah, I'm totally unwilling to house a pet that's that indiscriminate. (I'd also have a problem with pets who make all my books disappear by reading them once. I love my books!)

I know that's kind of a non-answer. (I'd love if real-life pets came in Subeta colors, though -- how's that?)

Q: What recent trend have you just not bothered to take part in?

Lol those are valid points you raise. Although I'm pretty sure my dog is just as indiscriminate in what she's willing to eat, given the opportunity. But at least she doesn't make some snarky comment about it afterward. X'D

A: I'm so detached from trends I'm not even sure what all the trends are that I'm not participating in, haha. I guess I'll go with the obsession with Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/etc. and posting one's entire life online, mundane daily things like pictures of every meal eaten, stuff like that. I have an extremely limited social media presence and I don't get what people see in sharing all that stuff.

Q: If your parents had let you name yourself when you were five years old, what would your name be?

Heh. That's an easy one for me. My grandmother had remarried, and I adored my new step-grandfather. He grew up in Southeast Asia and the Philippines and had all these fascinating old pictures and stories to tell about each one. He nicknamed me 'Jyo', which is short for some Tagalog word, and I was happy to have him call me that.

Q: Blackboards or whiteboards?

Whiteboard, becuase I literally despise the noise chalk makes on the board.

Q: Do you believe in ghosts?

No. I believe (most) people when they say they've had "ghostly" experiences, but while I don't know exactly what they've experienced, I'm like 99% sure it isn't a ghost.

A: I dunno, gasoline...turpentine...WD-40. Lots of things I probably should avoid inhaling haha.

A: My last concert was a COIN concert ft. ACE

A: My favorite flower is lilac. There's nothing better than the smell wafting in through an open window.

A: Definitely aliens. I really want there to be alien spacecraft in the hangars at Area 51. Do I believe it? No. But it's my favorite. :P

Q: What’s your "good luck charm"?

I don't have one. I have a "losing psychology" - when something skills based is really important to me, I get too tense and do worse. A good luck charm ritual just makes me tenser instead of calmer. For things that are truly luck based, a charm won't do any good.
