Hey everyone! :) Went to Barnes and Noble today to try and see about some paralegal books in general that could be worth a read and the section was pathetic, I'm talking literally one row of books on a shelf. :/

Before that we tried to find me a semi decent jacket with a hood and the staff told my hubs that they weren't going to restock any more Winter clothing that corporate is already on the move for Spring. What in the world? I mean, I know I live in the South and we don't really get cold Winters but talk about skipping seasonal attire as a whole.

Congratulations!! On the 1st of Jan it will be 23 years for the hubs and I. :-)

What the...and winter just officially began!! When I first moved back to Seattle I couldn't find a hooded rain type coat. I'm like really? Seattle??

Not where I am at least! It snowed a couple inches yesterday but not since then. It is, however, bitterly cold out. I didn't even bother leaving my house today!

its the same here in England with the shops, if you try to get a swimming costume in autumn or winter forget it! the shops seem to put each seasons items out so early, and then it all goes before the season is over.
I hope everyone is getting some relaxing time now that Christmas Day is over.

yep and we only found ONE pea-coat and it was like $200. I was like uh huh nope, not paying that much for a standard pea-coat y'all got me messed up, hahaha. I did see a leather jacket but I don't know if it was real leather but it was like $80. I'm more comfortable paying $60 or less if I can help it unless it's really leather or valuable material that's costly.

I don't get it. If the season just began you'd think they'd have at least one more shipment of inventory to come. I mean, I do live in the South where it's usually humid and warm 90% of the year but we do randomly have freeze warnings and the like. So it's not like we're completely immune to cold snaps and needing cold weather attire. Though I am confused since you know people do travel so to remove items early on is also ridiculous.

Bitter cold sucks!! We ventured out today as we've been stuck in the house since Friday. I made the hubs drive us around cause it's still a little icy and he's a great driver in snow or ice.

And that's why I shop at thrift stores! The styles and seasons are not dictated to me, plus I'm a cheapo! :-P

I truly don't know how we've put up with each other that long! He drives me crazy, but I don't drive him crazy because he never hears me! LOL!!! Do you have kids? We have one daughter.

We have 2 boys. 24 and 26. My hubby was in the Navy for 20years (so that helps) lol

You raised 2 boys? I'm impressed with any woman that raises more than one boy! Although I hear they're easier than girls once they're older. I got lucky though cause my daughter is a great kid.

I don't always find something good. A few months ago I found a gray pea coat with a hood for only $10.00 and it looked brand new. Liz loves too!

update on my gramma: they did Ct scans for the recheck and it yielded positive result! ^_^ bad cells have decreased by so much, but she still needs to be on medication. Well good health is all that matters! happy dance

Pretty sure I have some idea what you been through with your son. My adult daughter is fully dependant on myself and hubby. And her diagnosis is somewhat similar to your son's. She has Sensory Integration Disorder and ADHD and she's had various other diagnoses overt the years, one being autism too. But I am lucky because she's such a happy person and she was never difficult, just dealing with everything that goes with it was sometimes rough.

So what did you end up doing to help the sinus problem? Did you need tubes? My two younger siblings had to get tubes in their ears when they were younger. Right now I cannot hear out f my left ear from fluid that has built up inside it, but IDK what to do about it. I really hope your immune system recovers and that you can stop having chronic sinus problems, that is horrible.

Luckily I got the wires cut and now am tightly rubber banded shut. So I can open my mouth a teeny bit. I eat liquid foods like pureed pea soup, black beans soup, lentil soup, black beans, and refried beans. Everything has to be either drinkable or able to be put in a bag and squeezed into my mouth. I invented that way of eating for me since I cannot put a spoon in my mouth to eat thicker foods like refried beans. So I put the beans in a bag and snip off the end so I can squeeze it in my mouth. I also eat pureed sweet potatoes, peaches, pears, apricots, and apples. I drink a lot of herbal tea as well. Basically if I can squish it into a very fine, watered-down, and smooth consistency then I can eat it. ^_^ But yes it is pretty monotonous at the moment.

We have to go out later today to visit relatives but we're probably going to stay in all afternoon watching the original Star Trek.

I want to watch the original again too!! I couldn't remember which was the first one though. Was so long ago... lol
