I'm not offended. It was indeed very densely packed. What has said is a good approximation. Full disclosure: I have a Chromebox, so I traded out my own privacy to Big Google in return for active competent non-Google-virus prevention.
I can unpack it for you, but I won't do the whole thing. That would be like four Wikipedia articles-worth of typing. I am willing to help you get a handle on it though. Which part of it seemed the most intractable?
"Already a significant amount of our CPUs run-time is being sucked up by marketers, marketers to marketers, liars to metamarketers, venture capitalists and underwear gnomes all. Some of the biggest data sellers are starting to realize how valuable the data is and are keeping it to themselves instead of selling it, but that data is still being collected. The US set up the internet for it's own purposes to start with, that it became international is kinda like how the phone system did."
and this line:
"So in some ways that can't really be fixed because javascript has so many problems with it, true Net Neutrality is already something of a lost cause for data consumers."

NoScript is a perfectly legal add-on to Firefox. It's a great for stomping on cookie grabbers and certain viruses you can get by visiting a webpage. If you actually had it, I would be able to show you all the invisible programs that Subeta is requiring you to run in addition to your broswer in order to play here.
Of all of these tiny little applets, only some of them are actually necessary to get Subeta to work. This is true of most websites. For sites like Amazon or Google or iTunes, there are a whole fuckton of them and very few of those are necessary, they just wanna know. Some of these little programs are "sticky" and they glom onto your browser and stay there unless you scrape them off and some of them are un-scrape-able. They slow you down by continuously using up your machine's processing power, and they violate your privacy.
You are being charged money and slowed down so that marketers can peek at you in order to sell you something. This whole "get rid of Net Neutrality" thing that is happening in the Trump administration is an overt, mega-greedy version of something that is already happening.
I'm ashamed to admit that I use no-script more to speed up my system than for security. I realize that its for security, but if I really want to view something, or do something, I'll temporarily allow scripts without really considering the security implications.

Benjamin Franklin was very much in favor of communication and it is no surprise he headed the Post Office. Mail was the old fashioned version of the e-mail and internet. He also favored magazines, which were the podcasts of the time. He was big on privacy.
Magazines lost their postal protections ten years ago since Congress 'fails to realize' (is bribed by delivery companies) that the Post Office it is not possible for it to be self-sustaining anymore.
