Hello! I've never heard of the book or the author. I haven't read anything in a while. I want to read...but I'm trying to not read because I have other things I need to get done and if I start up a book...I can't put it down. Well...most of what I have I know I won't put it down because it is yet another book in a series...or books in different series...I'm really behind on a lot of series I read.
I didn't even know they had an email club. O.o
Neato! I have to many saved Has to share them all lol!!
Yeah when you first join you get a free appetizer too :O How was your day today? I love your Ha btw!
I love all your HAs, especially the survival one, spooky! Also the event at gothicat is a summer beach event. I've got all the new creatures for it and working on getting all the decorations and items. The way it works is, there's a beach game, items pop up, if you click them you get between 1 and 5 points, can only click once every 3 minutes, and different colors of each item are worth different points(there's a list). The 5 point ones tend to disappear fastest of course.
I'm just moody, sorry :( nothing wrong really at all
I read a lot, because reading is my favorite thing to do mostly, and the one thing guaranteed to soothe me when I'm upset, and also keep me from being bored. I can always put a book down because I know I will pick it up again very soon.
The author has been writing for only a few years, also under the name Victoria Schwab, and this series has been getting good reviews from various places, and sounded like it would be the sort of thing I'd like, so I thought I'd give it a look. It's a parallel world fantasy (the kind where magic has them going from one parallel earth to another), like Zelazny's Amber series, or Stross's Merchant Princes series, or I guess the TV show Sliders - maybe even like the movies of Thor, with the whole Asgard/Midgard/etc thing. Or heck all of Marvel comics universe has this. Anyway, in this book it's set in London and there's four parallel worlds known to the characters, and the main character is one of the few people who can still move from one world to another. One of the worlds is approximately a historical London, one is magic and upbeat, one is magic and horrifying, and one is supposedly dead from an apocalyptic magic doom.
It's well written, I think, but maybe not quite as much my thing as I thought it would be, or maybe my bad mood has made me pickier and less amenable to its charms (that happens sometimes).
wait is this a different game? not on subeta? Guys should I submit a ticket? My net is slow here so when I play the leviathan game I usually just click in a few spots without waiting for the page to load, but when I waited, sometimes the # of clicks left is right, but the game shows I only clicked in a few spots :/ like the game told me I clicked in 6 spots but it only shows two spots clicked.. :o
No worries ^^ Just hope you are doing ok! Trying to get quests done at midnight. I want the pet slot so bad :O we may make it...maybe
yes, a different game :D it was from there that I met and she told me about subeta.
I'm trying too, to do the quests. I think if it fails they'll run another one with lower requirement or something. I still have several pet slots left but... I want one too.
Yeah they will use the prizes as a different event. Didn't work my butt off to lose D: We can do it! We made a lot of progress over the last two days :O
You crazy girl! saw the banner you are one BA Mother!!! :O Love it! I wanna go to bed but I need to quest cause I wont have any time tomorrow. The struggle DX
Free app? blinks I LOVE THEIR LOBSTER PIZZA!!! Actually...that's the only app we ever get when we do get one. Thanks! :D
If I put a book down, all I do is think about said book and whatever else I need to be doing suffers...which isn't a good thing when at work. :/
That sounds interesting, but it may not be my type of read. I like magic and fantasy in books though. I tend to read more paranormal than fantasy though. And the only thing you've mentioned that I've heard of is Thor and Marvel. Although I haven't read the comics, but I have seen the majority of the cinematic universe.
what is the difference between paranormal and fantasy as to why you like one vs the other?
Maybe it's like fantasie vs fantastique ? Or is paranormal more on the border of horror I guess? Anyway you have heard of them now (from me) ! Have to hear of something somewhere for the first time right...
Like you, I haven't read much comics, and have seen a lot of movies, from Marvel. I read some of the comics back in the 1980s. That's a long time ago now!
nothing we can do but do our quests up to the limit today... I got almost all done (had 2 Carl ones left at midnight, that's all).
yeah I should be more circumspect about mentioning other games on a game site, sorry!
to everyone:
I bet if I named the last 100 books I read, some of you wouldn't have heard of any of them. This is normal for me.
It only takes a few thousand sales to get to the bestseller lists for books. This means if a book sells 15000 copies it's doing well. That means maybe 1 person in 25,000 have read that book... and I rarely read best-sellers anyway. So odds are against it...
Well...I believe paranormal is like a sub-category of fantasy. Because you can have both in the same book. You can even lump sci-fi in the same book. I just seem to read more paranormal or urban fantasy the most anymore.
I don't know what the difference between fantasie and fanrasique is. I'm not sure if paranormal would be on more of the horror side or not. I know Laurell K. Hamilton can be lumped into the horror...but to me, it's light on the horror. I don't care for horror. In books or movies. I can deal with a little in it though.
I know I used to read a lot of manga...mostly in the early 2000s. Although I did have some Pokemon comics in the 90s. The more recent comics I have read have been comic adaptations of novels I have read. But it seems like they quit making them. :/ Not much happened for me in the 80s. Mostly because I was born in 89.
I guess I was about the same age in the 80s as you were in the aughts. Seems like a good age for comics reading.
I think paranormal started its run well after the whole categories were stuck in my head. So I'm not quite sure what you mean by it. I'm guessing, since you mention Hamilton, that it's the vampire werewolf romance mystery type fantasy novels that she made popular, and anything similar to that? I've definitely heard that called 'urban fantasy' as well. I suppose it's possible that the story I'm reading falls at the edge of that, since it's definitely both urban and fantasy (the whole thing is in various versions of London). So really I'm not sure if you'd see it as paranormal or not... the plot seems not to be a romance/mystery, so maybe not?
glad it's fine!
We got an extra day!! -dances-
Yeah I would def check it out! We get lobster pizza when we go for the kids lol only thing they will eat! XD I love the mushrooms :O

heh. i've been here since about 3am - battling. i've still go about 10 to 20 more with the first 3, before i hit the achieves. i'm not sure if i'm going to make it. heh.
i'm going to try to do some quests now. GOT to hit that mark! I NEED another pet slot!
, omg. i haven't seen shriner beer, since i was a kid in Maryland!! hahahaaa and you're welcome on the banner :D i was just playing.
and YES ! it was "meant to be" (buying boots)
I love the idea that i can get groceries through amazon. i did get some Figs from them. (they were OK for cooking with, but when I got them, i was thinking of the figs i used to eat FRESH from my grandmothers farm....THEY TASTED NO WHERE NEAR THAT GOOD) heh.
it's just the idea, i'm able to find some things I can not find around the stores here.
I have to stick my nose in here, you and TERRENAANIMULA are talking BOOKS!!! (hey! , we're talking books over here)
to ME, it seems that "fantasy" is more "elves, witches, magic" and "paranormal" is more "now a days, future, shapeshifters, mind power"
but yah. they do kind of "lump" them all together. I've found some books i love, are thrown in with the scifi/fantasy group, and others are thrown in with the "romance/paranormal" group and then at other stores, i'd find the same books, listed vice-versa.
there's a couple of authors that i absolutely adore. and I know that TERRENAANIMULA reads some of them. Ilona Andrews (a husband wife team) that writes a series (Kate Daniels) that's consider an "Urban Fantasy" /if you haven't checked it out yet, you really should. it's an EXCELLENT story line/ they also write a series "Novels of the Edge" books. (the second is one of my VERY Favorite, heh. in fact, i just finished re-reading it Bayou Moon) and they've started a series, that i'm really getting into (and I SO want her broom) called "The Innkeeper Chronicles" it's a mix of "contemporary, magic, vampires, werewolves, science fiction" its really great, In MY opinion.
Another favorite author of mine (and less expensive books) is by an Author Alanea Alder. I ADORE these books!! and you really have to start with the first one (My Commander; Bewitched and Bewildered) because the same people run all through the other books, and you've really got to meet Meryn first. I'll tell you. this series usually has at least 1 part in it, where I laugh so hard, i've actually started to pee myself.
( she's coming out with number 9 next week!!!)
man. i could go on and on. LOL any way. TRUFFULA, i'm going to check out the author you mentioned Victoria Schwab.
